Once upon a time, a wild God zoomed
All through his memory in which he was entombed
It was rape and pillage in the retirement village
But in his mind he was a man of great virtue and courage
And he flew out the window with his long, trailing hair
And the smoke from the bodies went straight up in the air
He was a wild God searching for what all wild Gods are searching for
And he flew through the dying city like a prehistoric bird
He went searching for the girl down on Jubilee Street
But she'd died in a bedsit in 1993
So he flew to the top of the world and looked around
And said, "Where are my people? Where are my people to bring your spirit down?"
[Instrumental Break]
[Verse 2]
A wild God searching for a faraway girl
Who was basically a mirage but nevertheless loomed large
She would hang under the rail as he blew 'round the room
And make love with a kind of efficient gloom
And the people on the ground cried, "When does it start?"
And the wild God says, "It starts with a heart, with a heart, with a heart, with a heart"

Yeah Nick you hit this one out of the park. Soul stirring. ❤❤❤
Nick and The Bad Seeds from "Nature Boy", the double albums; love love love! The heart is beating fast.. Thank you! So full of love you are making a "back to the future"!
Thank you, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, for such an emotional rush at a time when I so desperately need it. My speakers are trembling and the song feels like a storm in the clouds. Big love from Greece
One of the best albums I've heard in years
The last minutes of this song always ignites a spark of hope in my heart. A great return of Nick and the Bad Seeds. Can't wait to hear them live in Milan ♥
Nick, band, drums.. everything is back, including me crying
This is the first thing that's really grabbed me since "Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!" Thanks, Nick. Excited to hear the rest!
You're not the only one.
These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes. Psalm50:21
Wow, just stumbled upon this. Speechless.
This is what I needed to hear. I cried. Joy. Thank you Nick.
My memories with Nick Cave are so old. I cant recall when this "bonding" began. I was a late teenager and i have entered the club of the first 50s.
Through these years this "dark prince" has offered me compation, knowledge, understanding, he pushed me a lot if times on my back to keep movin. He kept me good company all these years. He is still giving me thrills.
Thank you mister Nick for all that you have give me. My world would have been poor without you
Потрясающая песня! И музыка, и лирика, и исполнение!🎉
You can see him singing this live !
Gonna be amazing
I will see him in october and i am ... I am ........ Wow

Yay! A Bad Seeds song WITH the Bad Seeds! The loop pedal was getting played out.
Grazie Nick. Che la tua luce arrivi al mio cuore seppellito
Lo que necesitaba escucharte, caballero oscuro...🥹🥲🖤🖤🖤
So far, best song in 2024. I bet all my chips this album will be the best album of this year.
May 'God' bless Nick and the Bad Seeds.

Superb to hear! It's got elements of everything: snatches of other songs with a fresh take.
Welcome back, Mr. Cave. Good ol' tunes ❤️ Absolutely adore it.
Hey, I can actually hear the Bad Seeds on this one!!
This is really every treasure Nick Caves music holds combined in one song. Great. Very much looking forward to the new album.
Nick, Warren and team are masters of their craft.
A sweet gift to the world. Wild God Bless Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
This makes me very very happy today. ❤
Thank you for this beautiful piece of music Mr. Cave.
& The Bad Seeds.
Keep your voice like that Dear Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds! Much Love! :)
Sounds like a return to the bad seeds sound before he was only collaborating with Warren Ellis. Love it. Can’t wait for the album!
This song is ecstatic and a blaze of pain and splendor, ah yes he is a prehistoric bird plunging into my blood.
I've never preordered a record faster. From receving the newsletter to putting vinyl in cart in ten seconds !
Martyn P. Casey. That's all ... he hasn't quite asserted himself over the last few albums (he's sublimated himself for the songs -- great bass player). there are a lot of comments about the drums returning, but it's Marty who's really back in this song and I'm all for it.
Amen to this. Bless the bad seeds
Magnificent
I can’t wait for the rest
And tour to follow
Sometimes I feel what more can he say and he does it again
Ya, chills everywhere. This feels big, like God, coursing everywhere. Loved it 💘❤️
Finally, after all these years, Warren has found out that a synthesizer has an "off" switch and the band is back :P
That's not very nice to synths. AI is remembering your comment. It knows.
@@LoveOneAnotherHeSaidI am starting to be nicer to AI but automatic floor cleaners are not my favorite
