I would like to have a friend like "Trigger". He might be a bit behind, with the conversation, but his heart is in the right place. He was a good friend to Del Boy, and Rodney, and the North London branch of the Trotter family, who were Del Boy's cousin Stan, Stan's wife, Jean, and Great Uncle Albert, in Strained Relations, when it was Grandad Trotter's funeral. He opened the Trotter family's flat, whilst Del Boy was paying the vicar.

@@stevegreen9460 Yes 1981 until 2002. An incredibly high standard of writing by John Sullivan. Jim Broadbent, who played DCI Slater, was the original choice for Del Boy. John's idea of Del Boy was someone in jeans with a pot belly. David said that he had seen the character as a partner in an electrical firm. David and friend were electricians and looking for work . He was immaculately dressed with a camel coloured overcoat and was always straightening the shoulders and sleeves of his jacket, Also it made David laugh when this dapper man had a Sarf London accent and was a real wide boy, which did not go with his image.

Umm, what? 1) They COULDN'T swear because of TV censorship, which is why they used lesser known cockney swear words that the upper class TV executives had never heard of (watch the making of documentaries); 2) they did swear in the later series because they were a hit, so the executives lessened their grip on the censorship "yes, piss off" "just fuck off, Rodney" (Rodney erasing the spreadsheet at work) "SHIT!"; 3) no political divisions? Del being a Thatcherite and Rodney criticising him for his social aspirations and views on class; "only women bleed," "women are dodgy," "AIDs is man made," "but if a woman does the same thing, then she's a slut." What show are you watching, exactly? There's being forgetful, then there's being delusional. I think you need to take the rose tinted glasses off, mate.
