The song is simple, but the message is clear. Masculine loyalty and proven love for his woman. These simple ideals are almost lost in the U.S. Angelina and Brad do not dictate lifestyles in Scotland. These guys are superstars in their country. A modicum of respect should be given the Proclaimers. They probably live what they sing. Just my two cents. My Defens God Me Defend... I am a Lyon. Amen.

Proclaimers are wonderful, perhaps their vocals can be hard on the ears of some people, but their song writing is superb - songs such as "my old friend the blues" are absolutely wonderful.
When you see the proclaimers live, they really put on a good show and make sure that you get your money's worth.

They're definitely better looking now than how they were in the '80s... one of the few cases where you get better growing fatter... when they used tae be as slim as a feather ther ears were gigantic and their lips and teeth even more... that made them look like wee toddlers after having jist drunk milk... now they're MEN, and ScotsMEN can work definitely guid, we're tough and proud even with our looks! :-)

JCTweed that is a good question but from what I understand in Scotland it means talking nonsense or babble according to a dictionary. I think what it refers is an example like when a boyfriend and his girlfriend talk in a silly conversation and joking manner.
