Pussycat are just simply immortal. I have a very young daugher and she would listen to their songs over and over. Teenage Queenie her absolute favourite song. Mine as well. But all their songs are just so GOOD. I deeply miss music from this time. And again, if my little daughter likes it so much, this kind of music from that time cant be all that wrong.

Thank you for the history. It is very interesting. I had heard they sang in a group previously and Betty, the eldest, was the lead singer. Later, as Pussycat, Toni was chosen. It is touching, really how accepting Betty was and how close they still are. Betty has a sweet, soft voice: lovely in its own way.

Pussycat emerged during the 1970s thanks to the musical aspirations of the Kowalczyk (his father was polish soldiers settled in Netherlands, 1945) sisters -- Tonny Willé, Betty Drastra, and Marianne Hensen. Growing up in Limburg, Netherlands, the girls first came to the public's attention as Zingende Zusjes (the Singing Sisters).
The sisters lost their father very early to a lymphatic tumor. The mother, Marie Verheijen, married the Polish miner Stefan Kowalczyk three years later, who adopted the children. “Papa Kowalczyk was a real father for us. He spoiled us all, ”said his daughter Betty later. The stepfather promoted the musical talent of the daughters. (Wikipedia).
Thank you for the history. It is very interesting. I had heard they sang in a group previously and Betty, the eldest, was the lead singer. Later, as Pussycat, Toni was chosen. It is touching, really how accepting Betty was and how close they still are. Betty has a sweet, soft voice: lovely in its own way.

aces high Can't blame you, guys. Nobody chooses when to be born and grow up. But to everyone who was not around or old enough in the 1970s we the older folks can only give solace. That era will go down in history as the pinnacle of creativity for virtually all genres of popular music nearly anywhere in the world. Types of music have come and gone but the 1970s seem to have crafted sounds that will stand for as long as there is humanity on this planet!
