Beautiful. Just Beautiful. “That’s what it is to be a human being to feel and express fully. Feelings are our guide posts they plug us into the Universe” Wow. some wisdom right there!!
Such an inspiring speech , she's been super clear and told what most of us needed to hear from someone going through hard times. I'm currently facing one of the lowest points in my life (so far, I'm only 21 but I can only discuss my experience) and her words "transition means trasformation" really hit me up. I'm looking forward to meeting the upcoming version of myself, I really can't wait to find the key and open this cage which got way too heavy. Thank you for the powerful words!
Alessia - I am so glad to know my words helped you. I have found that having a good toolkit is super important - good diet, yoga for me helps so much And being in nature, therapy when needed, learning how to really feel my feelings and lean into them - not be afraid of them - they are energy that wants to be expressed - I switch things up to stay balance - having fun and laughing helps so much so I put comedy’s on, things like that. There are so many tools out there and it takes time to move through these moments. I hope this helps. Also, there is a breathing visualizational meditation called Tonglen you might like - basically you think about everyone else who is feeling the pain you are feeling and then you send out to them the feeling you want for yourself and them as a way of healing. Depending on what I am going through in life, I adapt my toolkit to meet my needs - Throughout COVID, I have been doing yoga with my teacher and a group of women five times a week, we meet weekly in a women’s circle - this has helped so much. Another thing to mention is looking at what you eating and drinking - caffeine and high sugar does a number on mood and anxiety (fear), I notice it immediately. I hope this helps you - you take good care of yourself - you are not alone and you will move through this moment - it is a moment, it just feels like FOREVER when you are going through it - let it sit alongside you and ask it what it wants to teach you. Xoxo
It can be a gift or a curse based on your perception. As I told my own subscribers. The hard times can make you stronger but only if you allow yourself to absorb the lessons learned and the tenacity it took to get through them. Because if you don't, tough times can bury you as well. If you give up with every road block then it will become the pattern for your life. If you develop a fighting mentality however, no matter what, then not only will the tough times be less in duration but when the times aren't hard you will advance even more so. The problem is we live in a generation of coddle now. We are telling them tough times should fall on society to get you through. And that will set someone up for an unfulfilled life. But if you keep your sword razor sharp, you will find that you will be prepared to use it quickly and won't even have to draw it nearly as much. Hope this helps someone out there---Charles
Tara I came late to the party. I have only just seen your most inspiring TEDxTALK. Thank you for sharing your story. Bravo! Lots of love from South Africa!
Thank You Tara. I Love it. "Transition equals Transformation." And "Feel my feelings in order to get the gift." :) I definitely have experienced both of these in my life. :) It's so nice to receive affirmation of being on the right path. ;) Much Peace, Love, and Equanimity to All. :)
A very brave lady to open her heart and emotions to the world. A really inspiring talk. Thank you for sharing, you made a lot of sense in your honesty.
Thank you! I've taken what you said to heart. I can completely relate to moving away from all that you know and coming into a dry place. Thank you again.
Thank you - I am so glad to know it helped you in some way. My dream was as I was in that dark night(s) of the soul, to give out whatever I learned to help others - so your comment makes me happy. :)
Tara I truly enjoyed your TED talk and I completely resonated with your message. I wrote a blog about a month ago called "The fences of the mind," while driving through Texas. Looking forward to following your journey too! What a blessing to have met you in Venice at Mystic Journey Yoga Studio.
