That is a truly beautifully detailed locomotive there Anthony. The sound is really splendid too. All the best to you Joyce and the family for the new year my friends
Happy New Year, Digger! Thank you for a year of great stuff! I am glad folks like this latest purchase. I have had a few lately, but I am done for now.
Hello and a Happiest of New Years to you and your family, Deano my friend! I am quite chuffed with this loco. I liked it from the first I saw it in January and ordered it the day they announced it. It does not disappoint!
Hello, Randall. Thank you for checking it out! Happy New Year to you and all around you. Joyce and I can only wish you a great 2024. Take care, my friend!
Hi Anthony, what a fabulous loco, it reminds me of the Class 88 we have here in UK. Beautiful loco in a great livery, all the best for 2024 buddy, regards Ant
Great share Anthony nice locomotive able to switch from electric to diesel really cool 👍🏻 Happy New Years to you and Joyce and Family see you next year. Till then Keep it on the Trackssss😎🚂🫵
Hello and Happy New Year to you, Mike! Thank you for an entertaining year from your channel and in conjunction with James! All the best to you and yours!
Hello and Happy New Year! It is definitely well-detailed. I am a sucker for gimmicks... sound and lights, but it was a sharp looking loco regardless of gimmicks.
Hello and Happy New Year, Tim! Thank you for the kind words and kindness this year. I consider you a great friend and look forward to seeing you whenever you visit a stream, especially mine! Take care!
That's a great looking loco, and I totally missed that. Since I wanted to get a diesel version of the Vectron, maybe this is the ticket...Happy New Year to you & Joyce !!!
I got greedy for this one as soon as they announced it in January. I love the private company version, too (labeled a BR248, even though they seem identical). If this year seems a slim year in choices, I may pick up the RP Railsystems version, too.
Happy New Year again, my friend! I am done "showing off" for a while. Just the way my pre-orders worked this year. Everything came in near the end of the year.
Hello and Happy New Year, Dave (and the rest at the biz)! Thanks for watching. I wanted this as soon as it was announced, even though I had no previous connection. So I am glad to share it!
Another awesome video and locomotive. Thanks Anthony for making these videos. I know they take a lot of time. Wish you and lovely wife a Happy New Year. Fleischmann made some great loco’s as well HO to rail . Unfortunately they’re not made anymore at least in ho . They run great as well.🚂🚂
Hello Olaf! A very happy New Year (Guten Rutsch) to you and yours! Truth is (and it seems obvious), but I do not spend a lot of time making these videos. I film them as they happen all in one or, sometimes, 2 takes, and the only editing is to remove errors I catch in editing. A 20 minute video takes, at most, 75-90 minutes to make for me. Fleischmann made excellent product. Now, all their secrets are blended with Roco, who has all the old Fleischmann molds. So, now ROCO does the HO and Fleischmann is N. My friends in Germany and mainland Europe, as well as Jim from Hovermotion always like to make sure I recognize the great Fleischmann quality!
Thank you for letting me know on the Roco locomotives . I did not know that. I started with Fleischmann when I was in my teens because I already had two rail and I always loved the European locomotives. Then when I got married my wife purchased for me the Marklin z scale just because I lived in a condo and Marklin was AC 3 rd rail. But now I do have a small amount of Marklin Ho as well and very happy with it. The only thing I have keep my 2 rail layout small. Thank you again.
Hi Anthony, another very impressive Loco from Marklin, the level of detailing is outstanding. Great Electric and Diesel sounds and a super smooth runner. Happy New Year to you and your family. Cheers, Paul.👍👍👍
Hello and Happy New Year, Paul- to you and all your close ones! I liked this first time I saw it in January. I had no reason to get it, other than I thought it was cool... still do!
Hello and Happy New Year, Joseph. This is a very sharp loco and it seems to be running nicely the last couple days, as I have had Khian and he is insisting we run trains, so it is getting a workout. lol
Very nice indeed Anthony ! Looks really nice . Hand rails on the front look ace 👌 can’t beat DB red livery . Sound and running perfect ! Every loco I buy these days have something wrong with it ! Great review as always !
I agree... sound and running were quite nice indeed. I am amazed at how many have commented on the handrails. I noticed them, of course, but just accept it as part of the machine... apparently, they are done very well!
Hiya Anthony . What a really great looking loco , I do like the VECTRON !!! especially 193's not really sure about the 249 ( although is part of the Vectron Platform ) But the Model certainly looks FANTASTIC !!!! Reminds me too much of our own class 88 Bi-Mode locos . Runs great .
Hello and Happy New Year, Andrew! When I first saw Vectrons, I did not know if I liked them or not, but they have grown on me. This one just struck me hard- loved the coloring, design, and functions!
Hello and Happy New Year/Guten Rutsch. I am a Märklin fan, but ROCO and BRAW both make excellent products. I only have 1 ESU loco (a v220), and I am not impressed with it- looks nice, runs smoothly, but no power. Still, I think all the companies in Central Europe make good stuff.
Hello and Happy New Year , my friend! 2024 is going to be a scary year here. I can only hope for the best and wish everyone some level of peace and happiness and upgrade to whatever they need. Cheers, A & J
This was the first year I saw them made by anyone (Piko has 2 versions coming out this year). This is the quietest runner I have had, and like the Brawa Twindexx Vario, it is super smooth and sharp.
Any idea why the extra platform and railings on the nose and tail, I don't recall seeing these on the all electric Vectrons. Great looking locomotive, thanks for the video and Happy New Year!
Hi Anthony, great videos mate. Cheers for the reviews. As an Englishman I find Märklin trains to be much more durable and robust then any Hornby OO trains. They also seem more advanced and state of the art too. Just out of interest, are all HO locomotives made from diecast metal? What about the ICE sets? Furthermore what’s your opinion on z gauge? Cheers, Umesh
Hello, Umesh... and thanks for the great vibes. I do think the top European lines are better than US or UK, but they come at a cost. Obviously, everybody has their favorites, and you can find what you like somewhere. Not all locomotives are full diecast... the vast majority of the Euro and UK stuff is, but more and more plastic is being used. The ICEs are predominantly plastic- frame and bottom- usually just the wheels, if that, are metal. The price is usually a giveaway as to metal vs. Plastic. As far as Z-Scale... I think it is great, but too small for me, but the sculpting and detailing is so advanced compared to even 20 years ago. Thanks
@@ModelTrainOutsider thanks for the info mate. Much appreciated. I’ve actually yet to rub my museum passenger set in a gauge as it needs a European adapter.
Yes I saw this in 2023.
Super nice versatile engine. Would be nice to have one run on my layout... Enjoy it.
Happy New Year my good friend.
Hello and a real Happy New Year to you, my friend! This was an impulse order. I saw it announced and just thought it looked cool.
Hello Anthony, wow what an impressive model from Marklin really like the high level of detail and sound quality.
Happy New Year to you and Joyce.

Hello and Happy New Year to you, fellow Anthony! I love the UK class 68s and 88s. So, I can see some similarity myself!
Beautiful locomotive. Thanks for sharing. Dave
Hello and happy New Year, Dave. Glad you enjoyed it

Wow.
Lots of detail.
Runs well. Good stuff.
Very nice.
Hello and Happy New Year! It is definitely well-detailed. I am a sucker for gimmicks... sound and lights, but it was a sharp looking loco regardless of gimmicks.
Nice authentic sounds coming from it, in both electric and diesel. Very nice Anthony..all the best.

Beautiful locomotive. Thanks for sharing.
Hello and thank you for watching and commenting!
Awesome loco Anthony.

Thank you and Happy New Year to you and Jackie!
Great video. ❤
Thanks again, and Happy New Year again!
Sounds a Beast, will look good pulling a freight train
Hello and Happy New Year, Clive. Definitely some good sounds and will look sharp on a nice freight train for sure.
Any idea why the extra platform and railings on the nose and tail, I don't recall seeing these on the all electric Vectrons. Great looking locomotive, thanks for the video and Happy New Year!
Sadly, Lee, I do not know what the extra railing and steps are for I do notice it is similar to a lot of North AMerican diesel locos in that regard.
Looks good man
Thanks, Dave. I like it a lot!
Anthony, is this a mixed service unit in Germany. Passenger and freight?🚂🇨🇦🇺🇲🇩🇪Happy New Year🙋
As far as I know, it is purely Cargo (and is operated by DB Cargo). Happy New Year!
