We have just returned from our 5th trip to Ireland. Took a friend with us and showed him the beautiful south west, returning via Wicklow Mountains. He was blown away with what he saw. Having wall to wall sunshine was an added bonus, our luck with the weather will run out one day. He's itching to get over again and see more of it... oh well looks like ill have to go back again at some point 🙄😁
Thanks Gary, we’re always blown away by Ireland! You were very lucky with the weather - but rain or not, it’s a country that just keeps drawing you back! 😀👍
I would love to visit Ireland one day. I would especially love it on a motorcycle! I stopped riding about two years ago. I had a couple of scares. Sold my bike. I still have my gear. Thinking maybe I might ride again someday. I live in Maine USA. And people really don’t see me even though I use high vis gear all the rest.
Hi Colin, Ireland is definitely worth visiting especially on two wheels! Sorry to hear you had a couple of scares and sold your bike 😔 you’ve certainly got to be really switched on when you ride and expect everyone else to be bad drivers - you could always consider some advanced rider training? Well worth it to get back in the saddle 👍 Hope it all works out for you! 😀
@@midlifemotorcyclediaries that is really good advice! I will into it. I will look into advanced training. Thank you! I miss the wind and the and smells hahahaj! And my mind is good again.. stress melting away. The feeling of just total freedom, while on two wheels traveling my world is liberating ✌️
Great country to visit. I had a week in Kerry this year. As I’m sure you know the roads are so quiet and easy to ride. A really chilling place. And only 1 rainy day in a week.
Great video and music as usual. Gutted for for Sue dropping her beloved Triumph but as Brian says we have all done it 😢. Did Healey last year it is spectacular.
Nice video guy! Sorry Sue about the bike drop. Dont let it get you down cuz it will happen again someday. Just shake it off and get back on. As always, looking forward to the next episode
This brings back memories of my trip to Ireland in 2022, my gift to me for my 70th. Good organised tour so didn't have to worry about route planning or accommodation etc. Dressed for rain as that is what my weather app said. Turned out be very sunny and hot. Oh, and Sue, you have now joined the clud. We've all done it - so easy manouvering a low speed. Gravity is not your friend. Looking forward to the next episode.
Thanks very Paul - Ireland is such a great country to ride through! Our first tour surprised us with glorious weather and our second with horrible rain 🤷♂️ yesterday, we’ve all dropped our bikes at some time or another - certainly can’t stop them when they’ve reached the tipping point! 😂😀👍
Don’t beat yourself up for dropping the bike. Easy mistake to make, in atrocious conditions. Another really enjoyable video 😊 Have a lovely weekend both of you.
Thank you Pete. No matter how many times I tell myself everyone drops their bike, I still give myself a hard time 🤦♀️😀. Glad you enjoyed the video ☺️👍
I was over in June, doing the WAW, but took in the Healy Pass, riding from the Beara Peninsula. The weather was being kind , after days similar to what you were riding in. Sun was high in the sky and the road was dry, couldn’t ask for better, what a Road!. Had a fantastic time and can’t wait to go back next year to continue with the next part of WAW. Graet Video.
Thank you Colin - the Healy Pass is definitely one of our very favourite roads to ride! We did the WAW in two parts too - best way to do it👍 Hope you have a great trip next year! 😀👍
If it's any consolation, I dropped my Tiger 800XC on my own drive some years ago! Glad you were OK. It's a shame the weather wasn't completely with you. Love the look of Healy Pass, Carol & I must do Ireland one day. The spa hotel looked a lovely place to relax. Hotel motorcycle parking should always be on the flattest area, but offen is just in an awkward area where they can't get a car in. We both enjoyed watching, thanks.
Thanks very much Richard - we think you and Carol would absolutely love Ireland! It’s also pretty easy to get to as long as you don’t mind variable weather 🌦️ 😀👍!
Thanks for a great episode. I’ve always wanted to visit Ireland so really enjoyed the chance to go along with you. Anybody who's ridden more than a short time has dropped their bike. It’s best to do it as you did: zero mph. Thanks again.
Thank you Marco, you’re right, we’ve all dropped a bike at some time 😳 it’s always irritating when you do it though! Ireland is a beautiful country but with variable weather conditions 😂 - definitely worth a visit! 😀👍
It's great to see you returning to Ireland, I did exactly the same in July! I, too, missed a few key passes last year and felt it necessary to get back and tick them off my list. I enjoyed the Healey pass so much I had to ride it multiple times!!! Really appreciate you sharing your experiences, it is a great motivator to get out and ride. Best wishes. Dave.
I had a recent Viking experience in Copenhagen, £19.62p for two small Danish beers. Most have dropped or been close to dropping their bike at some time, you live and learn, another enjoyable journey to watch while I'm sat at home with my feet up in my man cave. I was hoping to get the Ducati out this weekend but just had a severe weather warning on my phone so that's not going to happen. Ride safe.

Firstly i really enjoy your travel vlogs , that said one tiny little criticism…. As you guys have a very popular channel i thought that this vlog could put off some of your non European viewers visiting Ireland as it kinda came across like the appalling weather there was specific to Ireland when in actual fact the whole of the U.K was getting battered with rain and wind the whole of Spring and Summer and had the worst ‘ summer ‘ i can recall in my 55yrs …. That aside ….. lovely roads and a smashing place to ride 👍🏼
Thank you for your comment - you’re right we did have a fairly appalling spring/summer 🌧️😳 - but we hope viewers of our channel will have seen our Wild Atlantic Way series 1 where we had amazing sunny weather the whole time! Rain or shine, Ireland is still one of our favourite places to ride 👍 thanks for watching! 😀

Welcome back, pitty about the drop but we’ve all been there. One place I always suggest when your in and around Glengarriff is Priests leap it can be a bit technical especially in the wet,not for the faint hearted. Also when you come down off Healys Pass don’t turn right straight for Kenmare go left and follow the Road to Tuosist stunning 👍
Thank you for another amazing video. Every single rider has dropped a bike. Sue, if it makes you feel better I once dropped mine taking it off the centre stand!!! I wasn’t even moving let alone negotiating a steep hill in pouring rain !!! Xxx
Lovely video guys...the Healy Pass is a favourite of mine. If you ever go back the road from Rosslare that takes you on the Passage East ferry and along the Copper Coast is a joy. And the R600 you rode from Kinsale is fab..going all the way to Clonakilty. Stopping for a coffee in the garage doesn't sound great, but when the views from the picnic tables outside the garage in Glengariff are that good it's perfectly fine! I always stop there. Great stuff, look forward to seeing the next episode..hopefully the weather is kind! Cheers Steve
Thanks Steve, the pass is one of our favourites and the garage in Glengarriff was the only place we saw a coffee stop before the pass! We must try that Copper Coast next time! 😀👍

Hi David, first of all I genuinely think it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Initially I wasn’t sure if I could justify the expense of changing from the 800 but it really is a very different bike; far less top heavy , great quick-shifter (dare I say, much better than the one on the BMW GSA 😉) lots of extras and the engine is fantastic. The GT Pro also has lots of ‘toys’ like heated seats and a great TFT screen. I have had a few people contact me to ask if I had experienced any vibration or unusual heat from the engine because they had but I haven’t. I’ve had the 900 for 3 1/2 years now and - because neither Bri nor I are at all technical and stuff tends to wear out after three years - have considered test riding the new 900. That really is the only bike I would consider trading mine in for. If you get one, you’ll love it! Wishing you miles of smiles ☺️👍
