Hey Matt, thanks for the review. I almost got the Iceco VL45, but got this Setco RV46S instead. I didn't know about this fridge until I came across your video. I hooked it up to my jackery 1000 and ran it for 55 hrs straight and the jackery still had 28% left. Can't wait to test it on my next trip. Thanks and keep up the great work!
iceco owns setpower so everything is the same except iceco uses the secom compressor with 5 year warranty. setpower is cheaper because it uses cheap generic compressor with 3 year warranty
@@larryc1616 yep. I found out about that after my purchase. Im still loving my setpower, was great during my 5 day trip. Looking forward to many more trips with it. Have been using it in the backyard this past summer in the AZ heat, it's been working so far. For the price point, ill be happy if it lasts me 2yrs, but i believe it will last longer than that. I drive a 2020 Off Road Taco and the power outlet is on the passenger side of the bed so that fridge would work for me! I would prefer the cord to be behind the unit for a cleaner look but the price makes a strong selling point!
I have a setpower make sure you get the asurion protection plan. These do not last especially during heavy use.
They do not like being on for a long time like weeks .
It works well staying on for less than a week.

There’s never been a better time to be able to get outside comfortably or however you want. The amount of nice, inexpensive, reliable gear out there is so awesome. The only reason not to go this route is if you are insecure and have to have name brand everything. Almost makes me think to sell my Dometic CFX50 and buy this. Would be if this would have a flippable lid for sure!! And maybe have a separate plug for AC and 12 volt.

To tell you I was nervous about buying this refrigerator. But I figured for the amount of money I spend on it Was worth a chance. I'm glad I did I just got back from A 6 day vacation to Cape Lookout, I ran it off of my Jackery and Cherokee And had absolutely no problems. Definitely worth the money. Thanks again.

Thanks for these reviews. Was wanting the helux, but went with this one and a bluetti ac50s due to the size. This will fit better in my Bronco if Ford ever builds it.

@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Started taking my wife and 4yo daughter on "camping training" and gear shakedown. Starting easy at state parks here in MS, but plan to work our way to more primitive camping and "overlanding" in the Ozarks.
I got the same combo. Just used them on a 4 day trip beach trip down the Oregon coast! Very happy with the performance.

I really like this brand. They are priced well and seem to be good quality for the price. If I go with this brand it will probably be this model. I have a Ram with a hard folding tonneau cover so I only have just over 19" of height to work with from the bed to the underneath of the tonneau cover. This model and their newest model that is in the $400 range are the only ones that are under that height but have a big enough capacity inside for what I want.
It does very well. I think you will like it.
Just bought one these. Cant be beat the quality and efficiency at this price. It runs much lower watts of power than the competition. i predict they will start to sell out when the vanlife rv crowd starts seeing these and the price will rise. Especially when they find out that only 250 wh of power in small portable power stations run these for 3 days! "separate review here on ebay"

Oh man, the orientation threw me off, i need my fridge on driver side. 😫 no access to power setting and cable. I switch power source sometimes.
How many Amp hours does that portable battery put out. I ask because I’m planning on installing a dual battery set up in my Jeep. 24 hours of run time would be a nice target time for me.

I've been researching a ton of these 12v fridges for weeks and haven't been able to make a decision. For the limited amount of time I get to get out with my truck, it's just hard to justify one of the high dollar ones. Then looking at the budget ones, I just didn't like the build on most of them, especially the plastic latching systems, or the lack of any latches at all and the cheap plastic carry handles. Found this one today and after seeing a couple reviews, I'm really leaning towards this one, even though I was looking at ones that were slightly larger at 54 quarts.

@@davidjd123 Yes I did and it;s been great so far. When I used it in Moab it ran 24/7 for a week and a half in temps right around 100F and did great.
I know I'm late to this one but I'd be curious to see how long it lasted in a realistic environment like 85-90° exterior temps
I ran the Setpower RV45D in Moab in July when it was above 100 each day it handled it just fine.
Seriously thinking about a purchase...quick question..hypothetically, if boondocking and deplete battery source, can you use it as traditional cooler and dump ice in it...didnt know with internal components if this was possible....

The Helux is still fantastic. If you have the budget for it I highly recommend it.

Hey Matt, Great Video! This looks like an exact replica of the Iceco 47.6QT VL45 Single Zone Fridge Freezer. I would love to hear what your thoughts. Do you think they are the same fridge and everyone is just slapping on there own logo?
I agree other than the lid being different. This looks near identical to the iceco vl45.
In the budget category they are definitely the same fridge being rebranded. I'm not sure if they use the same compressor since this one has a 2 year warranty and the IceCo has a 5 year. But they are definitely the same design with different color schemes..
Maybe I missed it but did you do a test of how well it stayed cool after powering off?
I have no way to test that. These are well insulated.
Do you know if there is a cover for this frig or not, I checked their website but had no luck finding one
I think the IceCo 45L fridge cover fits this one too.
That fridge looks very similar to the ICECO VL45.....but more budget in mind (non secop compressor, different build materials)

@@readyme No the Iceco is a German compressor. Both are great, but this one you definitely don’t want to keep it plugged in for like a week straight.
Do they make a bag/insulated case for it?
They do not yet. It's a new design so they may come out with one in the future.
I read the reviews on Amazon for the Setpower, and one person said they actually bought the insulator cover for the Iceco VL45 and it fit perfectly.
I am looking hard at this one, and can’t decide between the 45S or the 45D. Any thoughts or anyone here with experience as to the priority of one or the other?

I ordered this refrigerator freezer from your link off this video. Thought the price was a great deal. They delivered an ICECO 45L is this even the same company? What's going on? How do they compare?

My Overlanding friends tell me to buy Dometic because it has the best efficiency on taking the least amount of energy to run. How would you rate this compared to a more expensive Dometic?
I discuss that in the video at the 10 minute mark. We have two Dometics and this one lasted a lot longer than they did running on a Jackery 500.

You didn’t indicate how many watts it was consuming when on the jackery.... can you tell me please.
It doesn't consume a constant wattage since the compressor cycles on and off as needed.

Why does it look like an Iceco?
Because Setpower and Iceco are owned by the same parent company. But having tested both, they are only similar in looks. They are not the same fridge.

I ordered my fridge and I was charged $200 for shipping alone. My order was canceled on August 16th 2021, after my payment had been processed, with the excuse that the warehouse was not sending shipments due to covid. I am still waiting for a REFUND CONFIRMATION. Apparently, they are made in CHINA.

Considering Iceco is made in China too, I'm not sure it's a knockoff. LOL. But they are very similar.
