Nice jointer for a small home-based workshop, the jointer at my local men's shed is an extremely large machine for commercial use.

Great review Mark! I'm thinking about getting that jointer. Do you recommend it for planing 2X4 lumber? is it very loud?

Thanks, John. This jointer is wide enough for 2x4 lumber but without additional infeed and outfeed tables, it would be awkward to run long pieces through it. By long pieces, I mean over three feet. It's not dead quiet, but it's my shop vac (for dust extraction) that makes me put my "ear muffs" on. I could run the jointer without them.

Thanks for the reply. Most of the pieces I work with are under 3-4 feet so that would work for me. Now I'll just wait for it to go on clearance for $50 at my local Sears. They have 2 left in stock now.

Good luck with that! I only saw the clearance price on mine because I work at Sears.

John Dietz I’m thinking no, as blades ware thr rear of the table needs to compensate, he was pretty through in his description, but he said nothing of blade hight adjustments

Where do you purchase the blades for this model?

CKD, the obvious first choice would be Sears Parts Direct, but I can tell you that the blade, while shown in the parts diagram, is not listed among the available parts. I have not been able to find them on Amazon either. When I look up 4 1/8" blades, only other sizes are shown. Wish I could be more helpful.

Thank you for the response. I'll keep looking.
