Pushrod 302 all 3.8 blocks are just 5.0s with 2 less cylinders but single ports are the ones that are the true twin split port 3.8s look like modular 4.6s from the intake with a pushrod block
@@KCunknwn No, you aren't entirely correct. The Ford 3.8l's Connecting rods, rocker arms, and oil galleys(& oil pump) were inspired by improvements to late model 351Ws not the 302. They’re worth rebuilding, I bought a crate because I loved mine so much. Working on putting it together and slapping it in now as we speak. I do recommend swapping the headers and going to a more free flow exhaust, my previous motor blew up at the headers etc and when I went to buy new headers for that side most were all welded back and resold smh lol. Guess it was a problem area so I recommend upgrading your exhaust to prevent that kinda stuff
@@kelran_ I know this comment has aged, but just wanted to put it out there that the 4.2L F150 engine is the same exact engine with a longer stroke crank and better intake. It was rated at 210 hp and 260 lb/ft of torque. If you could find a junk one, it would bolt right in and (from what I understand) run off your stock computer. Only problem you'd run into is the Mustang hood is too low for the tall upper intake, but a modded hood with custom scoop or cowl hood would solve that. I also saw a guy mention a Cobra hood of a certain year would clear it but I forgot the years. Also, other options are supercharged 3.8Ls with lots of torque or the 99-04 (which is in my 02). You can put the intakes and related parts on your 94-98, too. If you port and polish the pre-99 heads and intake you can still get ALMOST as much power out of them as well.
question: search for a 94-04 V-8 removal and a V-6 engine swap it doesn't exist of course the norm is to take out a small engine and put in a larger one but I can't believe nobody on TH-cam has actually taken out a V-8 and installed a V6 in a Mustang it just doesn't exist nor can I find if the electrical systems are the same in a basic and in a GT I know from experience that some engine compartment electrical systems can be removed with the engine to cut down on engine swap time but I can't find any information at this time that if this is possible with the GT of course my goal is to remove a V-8 and put in a V-6 3.8 L 232 in.³ engine but I keep running into all kinds of problems information that should be found from any dealership but nobody seems to have the answers they tell me to call salvage yards because they do a lot of engine swapping the point of this is no matter where I lucked there is no V-8 out V-6 in TH-cam videos NOR ANY INFORMATION regarding this subject on the Internet
this man cut oil bottles in half for storage containers
love it
I like this engine it has the old style rocker arms got a modular 302 feel almost but a V-6 instead easy to work on.
Are the 302 rockers compatible with this engine

Are they worth rebuilding? I have a v6 I just blew the engine when it started rod knocking..
I hope so I'm about to rebuild my sons it started having rod knock after he ran it 5 quarts low

@HAL-dm1eh on that last paragraph, you are correct. A 99-00 EB or 01-04 IB engine will work with the 96-98 heads and intake.
