Wonderful capture, magnificent birds! What size telephoto lens would you recommend to photograph the Sea Eagle over at Oostvaardersplassen? I imagine you were located in one of the hides?
Hello C Ash, yes this was filmed in the Schollevaar hide in the Oostvaardersplassen. This is filmed with a 100-400 mm lens with a 2x , also had some luck that there was ice so the white- tailed sea egale could land a lot closer on the ice.
What a fabulous capture of such a Huge fish... that's you and the W.T. Eagle. A magnificent bird too and it must have been totally exhausting for it with the battle to finally calm it down enough to fish it out and onto the ice. It would have had no chance getting airborne again with the full fish.

@@yoeljimenez9487 We stayed at Struy near Beauly? I think around 15 miles SW of Inverness. We saw some amazing birds too, WTE and G eagles were highlights, but I have been invited to go to The Isle of Mull in 2 weeks with an Eagle experts couple and have jumbled things around to be able to go... for 4 nights! Yaay! ◕‿◕ Like you, i have many videos to make, edit and post from various trips. I'll catch up eventually.
@@WildlifeBirdsUK Wow, you are lucky, you can go there with a local guide. Also good to hear that you have seen the Golden eagle, we too had views of one, but it will be in the next video. The first one about Handa Island i uploaded already, could recomend to visit the Island to anyone how loves nature, it is a beautiful place!

That fish looks like it was already dead , I didn’t see him fighting at all

Why is the fish not flopping around on the shore but just laying there as if it's already dead? The only reason that bird got that fish is because apparently it doesn't have much life in it anyway. If it did it would have been thrashing about.

Yoël Jimenez thanks for your response here to my comment but the full clip doesn't really explain why this large fish is just dragged ashore without any fight or thrashing about whatsoever. The link that you provided only shows the eagle tried to catch something a couple of times.
Yes it is maybe not that Good to see but it tried to catch the fish but i guess because the fish was to heavy it did not have enough grip to pull it out the first time
And you can see the fish was alive you can see it moving its tail

Wow! That bird looks and behaves like what we call an Osprey or Fish Hawk. I've read that they've been known to dig their claws too deep into a fish to let go. And if the fish is big enough to keep them from lifting off, they drown.
Yes, that would be tragic but those talons are dificult to cake them out again

The White-tailed eagle is one the largest of fish eagles. Only the Stellars sea eagle is bigger. This must be a juvenile because it doesn't have a white tail. Maybe 2nd or 3rd year.
Yes that is correct it was a 2nd or 3th year bird, you can see also the color of the bill

Literally walk in the water to grab using the claw... not so regular behaviour of eagle that usually flying to catch a prey in dive-and-snatch
Yes, very odd behavior. At that moment i was wondering what it was doing, never saw that before. Aparently the fish was to heavy to snatch out of the water. And thried it this way

WOW, see eagles are really good fishers. I mean its kinda in their name but, DANG most anglers never get a caugh this big.

@@sylvaineckhardt No problem i can see why you had doubts, here in the Netherlands they do that in the private photohides. This is an area where it is prohibited to go into the water its only allowed to walk on the trails!
I can see you got a nice channel, with some good species. Love the Northern hawk-owl great footage, i filmed one a few years ago here in the Netherlands, very rare vagrant here.

@@sylvaineckhardt Yes a very rare vagrant, i thought it was the 5th record for the Netherlands. Wow it is my favorite european owl species, they are very active during the day. You got there some good species there in Finland , the Great grey owl, Siberian jay, all those grouses and woodpeckers!
