we got the coupe some months ago and are just returning from a 800km trip to the Alps with the 2 kids, the car is just amazing in terms of comfort and ease to drive
Best engine for Cayenne was 4.2L V8 diesel. Awsome sound, great torque, incredible range and therefore quite low fuel consumption! I traveled 350 km at 184 km/h average speed on german Autobahn, when we had it few years ago and it was absolutely comfortable. Now we have the e-hybrid. It's a nice car, way better interior, but just not as exciting anymore. I would describe it like that: The V8 diesel "wanted", the e-hybrid "must".
Cayenne and technologies are words which has nothing to do one with another :) But driving experience is another story. That's why one Cayenne E Hybrid S Coupe is on the way to my garage ;)
its when the battery runs out that the MPG drops significantly for having to carry all the batteries and electric motor so if you are doing lots of long distance miles, this wouldn't be my choice.
This week's email. Why I cancelled my AE sub after decades. Porsche the ultimate family SUV, Polestar 4, Ineos Grenadier, Aston Martin Vantage. OUT OF TOUCH, your reality has completely left the building.
This is all great until the e-motor fails, chewing up its transmission when the car is JUST out of warranty, landing its owner with a £22k repair bill from the Porsche dealership. This happened to a good friend. How good does the car look now?
5:48 - So, the air-suss and the 4WS are 'well worth paying the extra for". Q: How do you know this Steve, as you only drove a test car with the system fitted?? 🤷🏻♂
X5 45e andX5 50e all only have 5 seats - but you can get 6fters in the back comfortably - canna do that in the cayenne - ive just gone back to the X5 :)
I had the preface lift version. Weight was a killer. Defo needs air suspension. Mpg was poor when battery was depleted., as you lug around 500kg approximately of battery. This one goes further on battery. Autocar suggested the V6 standard was better but and weighs less. Exterior on this one looks poverty spec! Not a fan. But they all seem to be wheel and other extras specific.

Once you spec em out properly they become crazy expensive. I know they drive better than X5 but I still think X5 beats it by a mile when it comes to value in that mid size lux suv segment.
You’re not lugging around a battery when it’s “depleted”. Then it just acts like a normal hybrid. Still shuts off engine at low speeds, when coasting, etc.
When the electric engine runs out, the car becomes slow and heavy like a truck. The S E Hybrid with 500+ hp is the better option, IMO. Or the turbo hybrid, but that's a different price category. The porsche Cayenne is good at everything but a master of nothing really.

@@blackadder1996 No I would say the Lexus has a better ride which is less harsh as it does not pretend or tries to be a two door sports car like the Porsche it is a big premium SUV with a powerful powertrain.
Awful! Porsche is offering a plug in hybrid??? No way! I can't believe I would say... Porsche is no more my favorite car! OK, no problem, I'm not interested in this video, but thanks anyway.
Not when done properly, and you can plug in at home. 10,000 miles on ours. Nearly 7,000 on electric. Just under 70 MPG. But it boogies when you want it to. Perfect for our needs. Also have a diesel for long trips, which it is better at.

Really enjoy Steve Sutcliffe reviews.
I drive a Macan. It’s nice. But the Cayenne is seriously next level on steroids. Stunning motor vehicle. Great video, hi from New Zealand

So what’s the total range you get on it
Mr. Sutcliff is the best car reviewer today. Very informative, relatable and trustworthy.
The hybrid needs the air because of the extra weight. The Base Cayenne is exceptional on springs.
My hybrid ha springs and PASM and is brilliant.
@@joetacchino4470 right on just responding to what Steve said

All 4 seasons in Blanchland as usual :)
When the Cayenne goes fully EV in 2026, is it going to be on the Chinese Xpeng G9 chassis that VW has contracted for use of its larger SUV’s?
I am definitely buying s e hybrid or even turbo e hybrid but in coupe version!!!

If you buy a new porche you also need to extend the warranty, not the cheapest but worthwhile
Great video again. Hope you keep your autonomy after being taken over by CarWow.

And the hybrid only gives you 55.1 cubic feet of cargo space! That’s less space than my compact MB GLC63 has! Yiiikesss
Buy a lorry
Think you can only get the X5 with 5 seats aswell, in hybrid form.

Looks more boring than the Lexus RX which also far better hybrid system.
