I haven't had any issue with durability, but you could put a clear coat on them. They should be matched with the body molding and window trim if you want an OEM style. If the window molding has the same clear coat, it would probably look fine.

Yes. There are two nuts holding it to the door. It should also have a rubber grommet for the cables or wiring harness. It just pops out too.

Will clear coat make the paint last longer? And will it look funny on that kind of plastic? XP
