    Baby Bat doesn't know what she's refusing! The wings are gorgeous. And the crown is stunning, especially with the bead strings. So ethereal. Your flowers collection always makes me swoon. Waiting for the final reveal!

      Thank you!! And omg I knowww she’d be the cutest fairy cat 🥰 haha if only she let me put costumes on her, if I so much as put a collar on her she falls over like “help you’ve wounded me”

    I love that you have considered the experience of wearing the wings (things like how much space and attention you will need to devote to them while wearing them) that is something I tend to forget when I plan costumes and then I am like…well, I didn’t think this through

      Aah yeah I've had some difficult times with wings at conventions, so definitely something I take into account now!

    Okay so I knew I needed to replace my heat gun for my fairy wings creation, but now you’ve convinced me that I might need a Cricut as well. The veins are a masterful touch. Beautiful work… I’m jealous of your craft.

      aah thank you! I definitely take no credit for the idea of veins, that's all from the tutorial I mentioned! The cricut has been so useful for tons of things, I defnitely recommend them!

    I love the wings and the crown, so beautiful! The iridescent shimmer of the wings makes them look absolutely magical. And I've always adored flower crowns yet never owned a single one, I really need to change this. I'm catching up on a video backlog which means I can go straight to the reveal as well 🧡🌹❤🍁

    It all looks so good!!!! Also Baby Bat with wings would be adorable, but I am sure she would hate every second of it.
    As for next ren faire, if you do a pirate you get to have big poofy sleeves which is always a plus. Though, as my internal enabler always says when I try to decide between two separate things: "Why not both?"

    So gorgeous! I can't wait to see the whole ensemble together. We don't really have Ren fairs in Australia so will have to vicariously experience one through your vlog next week! As for elf vs pirate... too hard to choose. Maybe a pirate elf?

      Renfairs seem like a very America thing for some reason! Idk why they're so much fun! haha pirate elf sounds like fun, I was thinking a ranger-style elf so maybe not actually too different stylistically?

    The sleeves of your shirt in the outro are sooo cute! I noticed a similar design on your green sweater or cardigan in another clip. Are those from a specific brand or did you add them yourself?
    I love your style, these wings cane out so cute too. Im glad I came accross your renn fair videos today and then found this. You're very talented! Its not everyday you find someone who makes their clothes and I'd literally wear everything I've seen so far!
    Oh my gosh & the flower crown, I've never seen one worn like that. I want to make one. I'm going to a fesital in a week and I'm gonna try it. So thank you

    Fantastic! You keep inspiring me to go on with my projects 😍
    Edit: I have a friend with a machine shop who has a water jet. Most shops will charge by the hour with a minimum (my friend's is $100). If your drawing is able to be uploaded whole into the program the water jet uses you would probably only pay the minimum plus material. Still expensive for a one off.

    • @moth.faerie
      @moth.faerie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Aah that sounds totally worth it though if I could get two pairs of wings done! Idk how fast water jet cutters work lol but even for one pair if I can perfect the rest of the process I would totally shell out for that! Ty for the info!

    Hey girl! I just made the Angela wings and I had the same experience. I used them for a fairy photoshoot and unfortunately they were flimsy and barely survived the day. I used very thick wire too :(
    I was hoping with so much time and energy put into them that I could use them multiple times but sadly that wasn't the case. Thank you for your honest, kind, and detailed review!

  • @raventemptressstudio1138

    You can harden the wire frame by hammering it, like if your using a 18ga steel.

    Amazing! If you are still interested in doing wings with water jet cut frames, one of my car youtubers uses a company called send cut send. They do exactly that for small scale creators. Not sure if they need you to use CAD instead of Photoshop but it's worth looking into! :)

    There are wings with manual mechanism
    that uses 2 cords to pull and control movement of wings on back to flap.
    so the wearer can flap the wings.
    However, the mechanical bat ( but
    similar) wings that I saw were 1 of a kind
    custom made, but skilled mechanics could create a new 1. Hope.that you can find such a person.
    Good luck!!!

    I recently found your channel and already I think you're super underrated! Your work is creative, fun, and infused with your personality, it's obvious that you put a lot of thought into your makes :)
    If I may make one suggestion? Kick up the brightness a little, your videos are kind of underexposed particularly during the talking sections. The darkest shadows of the background often read nearly black, and the shadowed side of your face can't be seen well so it's very hard to make things out even with my screen on full brightness :/

    I have a question about the thing you worked on to make the flower crown base, how would you do that without it? It seems kinda hard to do without that thing you used to measure. Also, what are the things that you were putting on the wire after you cut it?

    • @moth.faerie
      @moth.faerie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you could also use a cheap wig head padded out to your head size, or use a paper pattern to check it on your own head and followthe paper patter with the wire. the caps are called wire joiners
