@PresidentOfSpace you can get the eagle shield in blight town, the Iatio katana sword, if you kill the undead male merchant in undead burg at start of game, you can get the uchi katana as well. If you speed through the catacombs to join the gravelord covenant, you can get the gravelord sword at the start of the game
@Fa1nTy Actually from Valley of the Drakes you can take the elevator to Darkroot Basin where the Black Knight and Grass Crest is. You can ran past/kill the knight and on to Darkroot Garden skip past the Ents and Titanite Demon and you're already in the Parish where you can run and activate the elevator. You can also once again run past all the ents and the stone warriors and grab the EK set.
There's a chest with a couple of "Homeward Bone" items right around Firelink Shrine (the starting area). You can pick up the Firekeeper Soul in New Londo, then immediately use the Homeward Bone to teleport back to the bonfire (no souls lost). There's also a Ring of Sacrifice around Firelink that you can pick up. If you wear it, you won't lose your souls when you die (great for the other Firekeeper Soul in Blighttown).
I haven't done a pyromancer yet, but it sounds good to me for starting out since it's starting with magic. Whereas its not easy to build up a character for melee and magic early on-most good melee weapons in the beginning require some investment with levelling. The useful armors and stronger weapons require lots of stamina/strength, while mobility is an entirely different set of skills. So a pyromancer would allow you to focus on that stuff early on and not have to forego magic early on.
Included in this could be a quick run into the graveyard for all that gear/loot, as well as a quick run over to the zombie dragon near the blightown backways entrance. These items that you show are must haves though, imo. Very informative... this should help out a lot of people.

@MrSalmon88 It's not I do this every time I start a character (over 15 times now). As long as you don't pick up the fire keeper soul in blight town, Lautric will be in his cell once you reach Undead Parish
@R4Z0RxTutorials the elevator doesn't work until you hit parish the point of this video is to get items the instant you start the game, this is before parish, darkroot, etc. and before finding lautric.
also when your at the dragon, make sure to buy a bow and arrow from the merchant, then shoot it's tail off in the bottom section of the bridge, you will get the Drake Sword and it will help ALOT
He frees himself after you kill queelag and ring the second bell, if you leave him. The bug is that picking up the fire keeper soul triggers this instantly the moment you hit the parish.

It's picking up your second soul that triggers Lautrec killing the keeper. Doesn't matter which 2 you pick up. Its in getting the master key early and throwing progression off that this seems like a glitch.
That happens if you collect Fire Keeper Souls in general, from what I've read. I haven't done any of what they showed here and he's sitting right next to the cage cell in Firelink.
1000 souls is not much, the soul you pick up near the zombie dragon gives like 3000 Pyromancer and Wanderer are good if you are going for a dex class, and bandit good if you like strength builds. The most popular class is pyromancer. They start at level 1, with no stats wasted in Resistance. They start with pyromancy, which is great magic, and a good melee weapon (hand axe) that lasts a while. Overall any class is decent though, and by level 100-120, the differences are extremely minor.
Good video. I like to get the 3 items that were not shown here to start... The grass crest shield, havels ring, and the great scythe. All are equally easy to obtain.
What I think (tested with 3 characters on PC), when you enter Blighttown earlier than undead parish some odd script is executed: Lautrec is free but doesn't appear in shire and if we enter into undead parish firekeeper will die, even before 1st bell. Strange but in my case always works that way.
@Fa1nTy This video came super handy to me in fact, just wanted the cloranthy ring as well, but i suppose the grass cress shield more than suffices. With the crimson robes there is no need for havels ring YET, but what is RoFaP? and how to get it? Youre a boss, I got killed severeal times in my way to get these items. And another question, you think the dark knight sword is worth equipping?
Are you joking? Gargoyle Halberd is awesome. It has a great moveset both one and two-handed, great reach (not as good as the schythe though) and even grants you resistances to poison and bleeding damage. It can be enchanted or upgraded with anything. Lightning + 5 Gargoyle Halberd cracks skulls even on NG+
However, don't be discouraged from doing so. If you free and kill him, you can take the third soul or ring the second bell without Anastacia being killed. If you really want his armor, then you have to keep him alive, but if you want to just kill him and get it over with you can take the Blighttown fire keeper soul.
Good work! I Hope I can get the Crimson armor. I realized one of my biggest problems was not to just jump lvls! The ladders waste time & bring giant mosquitos. Dying around the Wyverns, no big deal... Again, good work & thanks for the info!
I'm not sure it's a bug. if you get 3 firekeeper souls he will kill her, if you ring both bells he will kill her or if you get the blightown soul he will kill her. I think it's just another trigger point. granted you can kill him before he kills her and she won't die. but then you can't get his armor until the next playthrough.

Free Lautrec or not, he will escape once you kill the gargoyles, and get to firelink shrine and will NOT kill firekeeper yet, you can get a nice FAP ring of him early from there by just kicking him off the edge at firelink *where he sits it's a perfect spot for that*, and once you kill Quelaag that triggers him to gank firekeeper and then ofc leave to Anor Londo. If you kill him in firelink or his cell you save the firekeeper but can't get his armor until NG+.
What happens is that if you get all 3 fire-keeper souls, Undead Parish, Blighttown, and New Londo, Lautrec will kill the Firelink fire-keeper. What I like to do is get the Blighttown and New Londo souls, while leaving the Undead Parish one until I -this is Sparta- Lautrec in order to get the Undead Parish souls safely. :)
Getting the blight town fire keeper soul early will cause her to automatically die the instant you reach the parish, unless it was patched recently. You never even have to see Lautric It is a glitch.
i think it was intentional. getting a +3 flask early game is a full heal up until about 16 vitality. think of it in a balance perspective, this is DARK SOULS here.
Hey, Fa1nTy, do you know if entering Blighttown alone triggers the Firelink Firekeeper's death and Lautrec's disappearance or is it for sure that Firekeeper Soul that you pick up very deep in Blighttown?
At the undead dragon, if you pick up the souls first. (Far side and by itself) then position yourself in between the other 2 you can pick them both up with one animation and get away unscathed. Otherwise ok video. But, why no run through the skeletons area. Few good weapons there.
you get the black knight halbert,look for video how to and then you get twinkling titanite in the great hollow,also look for video on that and you are game breaking overpowered!you start the game with a weapon that is fully upgraded and do +- 500 damage.
@TanathosX360 It would take a while to run through the swamp and half way down the great hollow, at least another 3-4 minute trip down. It's not that good of a ring compared to RoFaP others like havels or dark grain

@TanathosX360 Ring of Favor and Protection, you get it from killing Knight Lautric you free from the church, it gives +20% hp, stamina, and equip load Dark Knight swords are not that good, get a good lightning weapon :P
yeah but lautric is the only thing that will kill the fire keeper so u free him then after killing the two gatgoyls go stright to the fire keeper and kill lautric so u can get his ring and sun medels from him
Why did you make this without including the run through the graveyard for the winged spear, the zwiehander, and some various items? It's even easier of a run that the video.
Warning, if you use this guide Knight Lautrec will be free, but WON'T appear in Firelink shrine and this cause DEAD of a keeper, you have then make this quest harder way.

Wanderer is by far, in my opinion, the BEST class.

I was just about to pause the video halfway through the blighttown section to do it, then I realised if I tried to pause in game, I'd be dead.

You can have the stats to use all items in this video after 5-10 levels, which takes 10 minutes in burg.
Afterwards you can open the door where there's lot of drakes and it leads ou to the Four kings boss

It's 3 firekeeper souls, the second bell, or a number of other triggers.
i always wondered why does everyone stop at level 120, i havent gone past it but i dont want to just in case i would miss out on somthing
elite cleric and all armors upgraded is a way to go. not for beginner dark souls players though only 200 hr + or 100hr and up i guess.

If you had started the video from the firelink shrine you could have added the rapier next to the New Londo bridge and Zwihander to this video easily.

if you take the soul first from the big old dragon he doesnt wake up then you can grab the items easily
Should have grabbed the winged spear and the zweihander, they are half a minute from firelink.

Getting firekeeper souls has nothing to do with the firelink keeper dying early. She's killed if you free Lautrec and keep him alive.
No the fire keeper only dies if you leave lautrec alive and then kill Quelaag.

Falls take a percentage of health, not an exact amount. No matter how much vitality you have, you're most likely gonna die from that fall.
