Kazuya was much better in Tekken 2. I remember playing hours in VS mode with my childhood friend mostly against Lei Wulong. Baek was my number 2 after Kazyua.
The one time Heihachi did anything to save his son, as far as I know. Also, it's weird that Kazuya's Stage 8 battle is against Roger - I guess they couldn't think of anyone else to go there?
Heihachi only did so, as he feels that he's the only one who should both fight and destroy Kazuya. Even though Kazuya never did anything wrong to him in the first place.

Kazuya is the only character in this 2nd game's roster to not fight Alex, Roger, or even Kuma on stage 4 if he wins stage 3 with a "great". Since he fights Roger as his stage 8 sub boss. And he's the only character who cannot unlock Roger or Alex.
8:27 Kazuya fights Roger on stage as his mid boss. However Roger's music from Fiji stage still plays instead of the middle boss theme often played on stage 8. 9:43 Kazuya fights Heihachi on stage 9 as his sub boss. Heihachi's stage Pagoda Temple plays Kazuya's music in place of the regular stage BGM.
Sorry for the late reply I didn't see your comment initially but yes it's also the same for Devil. Kazuya is the boss and Devil is the final boss. Angel is also in this game as well

Arcade music is much better than console arrangement, kazuya's theme sounds badass.

To unlock Kazuya, first beat Arcade Mode with all ten starting characters then beat Arcade Mode as any of those ten sub boss characters.
