Jacks Fork River Bay Creek to Alley Spring Ozark National Scenic Riverways

  • This is the last river in this trip, and I think it was the best. The fishing was good, the water was clear, and the scenery was amazing. I'll be back to float all the rivers again. I loved the rock bluffs and gin clear water. I also had a good day with the smallmouths. I'm dying to go back and explore more of this river for sure.

    It's been a long time since I've been there but I don't think there's usually much float traffic above Alley Spring. As others have mentioned, it's not always floatable, especially later in summer and fall. Incredibly beautiful water, I've got to get back down there soon.

    • @ShowMeCreeks
      @ShowMeCreeks  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I like it way better. I'm just trying to float entire rivers in small sections at a time. I still have above Bay Creek to do but from there down I've done.

    So much topwater action- you slayed. Love when you see the bronzebacks chasing the lures. That 7:00 mark looks like Fish Trap hole. You can bring a scuba mask and find numerous smallies under logs and rocks.

    You must of put in at the right spot! Very nice catches! There's always tons of drunk floaters around eminence on the weekends where I've floated on Jack's Fork. I just got back from Sam A Baker park in Patterson, mo and the water around there was super low. The boat ramp at black creek and the St. Francis had a puddle at the bottom. Shoulda brought my kayak but it was more of a family event. Only caught a few goggle eye 😖 nice work man

      We hitbthe weather and everything just right. This was last weekend when it was really nice out. Two or three days before that it was supposed tobbe 102 and it ended up being like 85 everyday. I think a lot of people canceled because of the heat. Not sure but we didn't see a lot of people but we did drag quite a bit.

    This is awesome. Looks like you were able to float this sometime in July? They say the stretch of the river before Alley Spring is water level dependent. I’d love to do this area, wife and I have canoe’d the Current twice from Round Spring to Two Rivers, but I’ve always wanted to do Jack’s Fork. I’ve seen some of amazing videos of this river. I watched your video for Akers Ferry to Pulltite. I like the Current a lot as well. I want to bring my whole family and kayak this, but I’m afraid Bay Creek to Alley Spring is a little too far for them. Would you say Akers to Pulltite is easier?

    • @ShowMeCreeks
      @ShowMeCreeks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would think Akers to Pulltite would be easier. It was definitely down, and we dragged several times. Good luck to ya.

    If you think that is pretty start up at the prongs or buck hollow when the water is higher. In my opinion the prettiest section in the entire state. You are in a canyon almost until you get to bay creek. I always camp out on a gravel bar for night.

    • @ShowMeCreeks
