After decades of cars with independent suspension, I bought a new truck with a straight axle, and I was blown away by how precise the steering was. I hope your king pins are in good shape, after that, they’re bullet proof, and designed for life in the real world, where pot holes are a fact of life.

Love those pickups 61 to 71.. I have a 66 d100 short bed.. with a utility box like maybe a telephone pickup.. /6 granny 4 speed.. I need to replace the six.. not changing to V8.. but I have a step side box for it...
It takes a really old alignment shop to adjust the camber on a straight axle, because it has to be bent. I have only seen it done one time they hooked a chain to the axlel then used a 40 ton hydraulic jack!
Scribe the tires. To get an accurate toe adjustment.
Have you ever tried freeze off on frozen rusty stuff? I have some friends that own a front end shop (West coast wheel alignment) down in Florida. They use it on froze up ball joints and such, works great.
