This is one of if not THE best executed flashlight reviews I've ever seen. I rarely comment on you tube but this needs mentioning. Your testing, explaining really makes it clear you hare read up on the product, not just reading specs of the box like 90% of flashlight reviewers do. But most of all your presence and connection when talking to the camera. I'v'e not heard of you before but I'd be willing to bet you spent a fair amount of time in front of a camera. Either that or you have some great talent, either way, million subscriber class content!
I bought one of these this week and and am impressed. For the money, you cannot get a flashlight that is this small that can throw the beam as far this one can. You can spend less and maybe throw further but those lights are huge and have giant heads and reflectors. The TK30 is the size of other tactical lights but sends a beam down the road like the giant flashlights that you simply could not carry with you every day. Pricey but a very cool flashlight to own.
Thank you for the information Alex. I'm glad there are people who take the time to do these types of evaluations. Take this as a compliment, you were tailored to do this and I wish you great success. I sell Fenix flashlights at my walk in store and it gave me great ideas how to present the sale of this type of flashlight. Keep up the good work, Ric.
That shining out the door & being able to see happens all the time. LED lights shine brightly on near objects on either side of the target. Even though the throw reaches the target, it is not bright enough on the target to make up detail. Excellent review.
Phenomenal video. Not only did I learn a few new things, everything is well presented and the quality is on point. You do a better job selling Fenix's lights than Fenix itself does lol. I really hope you put out another video since it appears it's been almost a year since your last one. You've earned a rare sub from me, I'm looking forward to your next video.
The depth, the practicality of the footage and the balanced review and use case is excellent. Can't believe you haven't broken 1k subs yet after over a year. You definitely earned my sub.

Well I love my Fenix LD30. This looks pretty interesting as well ! Maybe I'll give the TK30 a try. Never had any LEP product before. The LD30 is a top tier edc flashlight for me so I'm sure the TK30 won't disappoint. I love the consistency of the hot spot with virtually no spill whatsoever! They have an upgraded version now, the TK30R. It has the same lumen output but throws the light beam about 350 meters further. Also has dual tailcap buttons, one for flashlight and one for strobe. Just ordered one,, having loved the TK30... had to have the new TK30R
Well, it’s been three years since this video, I would imagine the “production tax” you mentioned should no longer be included, so to speak. Why are they still $270?
OK this FlashOholic found you from NJ. You are reviewing a LEP: LASER EXCITED PHOSPHOR Flashlight except I do not recall you mentioning this even once. @@highwaymen1237 it came from a Fenix dealer in Texas. I’m not sure exactly how to detect a counterfeit, but it looks and feels 100%. I can’t recall the name of the company, but they had most of the more scarce flashlight available. The Fenix website 20% off promo code was tempting, but I needed the light right away. After all is said and done, the laser type flashlight is nice and their three bulb 9000 lm flood is great... but.. nothing compares to the Olight magnetic charging system. One other point.. The side button on the Phoenix lights is terribly hard to locate when it’s dark. And... The specialized battery ($99) of the very expensive 9000 lm flashlight is most definitely going to be a problem when it needs replacement. Overall, I just bought the new OLight mini “something “ (forgot the name 😉😷🤣) or I’m just getting old... Is a phenomenal flashlight *OTHER* then the fact it is so small physically. It is the new light with a base mounted stainless steel switch AND A rubberized side mounted switch. It has the magnetic olight charging system which I just love. And the base mounted switch is incredibly well designed. BTW: OLight makes a great product (not all for sure) but their customer service is absolutely miserable. I’ve spent about $3k with them this year alone... and I received a damaged package with items missing (the delivery guy pointed out the damage and asked if I still wanted to accept it. (I stupidly said “yes”. )and they still have not replaced the damaged and missing lights. Their packages come straight from China and their customer service is apparently located there as well. They have a poor command of the English language (if you are primarily doing business in the USA and represent yourselves as a US company, you should have employees that speak the language fluently) and do not answer the phones and do not reply to emails. IF you are lucky enough to get a functional product, then it is probably going to work for a long time. The problem is if you have a problem, there is no one to communicate with. Most of the lights I’ve purchased have been just fine, it’s just when you need help there is no one there. The OLight store TH-cam channel is as fake as fake can be. They don’t show the Chinese CCP owners and Do not show the slave workers assembling product. They have a few fake actors pretending the company is theirs..
@@PowderMill thanks for all the info. There is a dealer in Kingwood Texas that carries high-end flashlights. My reading comprehension stinks, I didn't see in your original comment that you mentioned Texas. I'm sure your light is legitimate.
@@highwaymen1237 👍🏻 That’s the place! A1 seller... delivery was prompt and they were extremely helpful. Very cool light BTW... but limited for sure. Great video. I'm thinking of adding one of these as a secondary light to my rifle, I already have a good combo laser and flashlight, but I wanted something with a long throw and little spill for "tactical" reasons.
I bought two, they are amazing, they will be retiring my surefire and fenix pd35's. For usage I think their overall best for guns but the throw is the best feature for EDC the power rarely goes out. Oh and I can find my dog(s) if they run outside in the dark. There is another comparable white laser flashlight that's much cheaper called the trustfire for only $99 thinking about buying that one as well for more guns. Overall very impressed with this tk30 it illuminates the target very clearly, no other flashlight I have, no surefire or fenix, can fully illuminate the target at let alone 40 feet this flashlight fully illuminates the same at 2500 feet it never gets weak. It really is amazing it illuminates 3937.008 feet clouds at night like an air raid spotlight with the same brightness consistently. Only downside is that it has an extremely visible beam, you will be seen from space although very fun to play with it's not good for concealment and at very close ranges 5 to 10 feet the beam is the size of a basketball so using to search a confined space in the dark is not recommended.
Really cool video especially the hotel part. That is an amazing flashlight. I had no idea such a thing existed! I'm not sure what I would do with one though. Signaling to ships I suppose:)

I also just wanted to comment on what I did last night testing the tk30 on a long-range Open golf course, I could only illuminate a person approximately 700 to 800 ft away using Google Earth measuring the 1200m claim they have is a marketing Ploy kind of which is just the actual photons making it 1200m without completely dissipating
Silly question if it can be used as a lightsaber??? That’s why I’m buying one! No in all seriousness I do search and rescue and having a compact thrower like this is a lightsaber I mean life saver!! I have been looking at the acebeam w30 as well but I feel the beam might be too compact for my specific needs
Will it cause eye damage if I shine it on someone's face from a few feet away? I'm thinking law enforcement, search and rescue, etc. where you are shining the light onto people.
Black and White with Gray I know! I have the TK26R and I love it. Just wish it was a little smaller in diameter like the PD36R! If they kept the smaller head it would be perfect. Little too big for edc
@@BlackandWhitewithGray id do love this torch to check out the paddocks without lighting everywhere, spooking everything, but having to have two makes no sense
A good Tac or EDC will suffice for 99% of people. My Nitecore I4000 and my Klarus XT11x put out tons of light with great throw, priced at about 129 each. That said, as I love flashlight technology, I will get one of these once they are made available to the public. Right now, Fenix is restricting them to police and military buyers.
I don’t think it would be a good EDC. Most people have an EDC for scenarios that are close to them, and this light is SUPER bright right up close. It’s more like a glove box light so you can have it in your vehicle for when you need distance.
So the beam that comes out of the light isn't actually a laser beam. A laser is, by definition, light of a single frequency. White light is the addition of RG&B, or of all colors.
The video across the river is right next to an airport, so I honestly had to be very careful not to shine in their eyes and they were taking off! I’m sure they would see it!

I don’t think it would be a good EDC. Most people have an EDC for scenarios that are close to them, and this light is SUPER bright right up close. It’s more like a glove box light so you can have it in your vehicle for when you need distance.
Good video, liked and subbed
Great vid
So the beam that comes out of the light isn't actually a laser beam. A laser is, by definition, light of a single frequency. White light is the addition of RG&B, or of all colors.
Whether it’s a laser or not could be debated either way I think. I won’t say I’m an expert, but it is definitely a tight beam!
I want to see if it can light a jet
The video across the river is right next to an airport, so I honestly had to be very careful not to shine in their eyes and they were taking off! I’m sure they would see it!
