man, i've been banging on that top through bolt all morning and it's not coming off. i dont know how yours slid out so easily. mine is also a 2017. that bolt is seized up tight
They're tough! Use some anti-seize or WD-40 and a vise and it will come out. If you're not using a vise I'm not sure you'll get it (I tried many different things before going to Home Depot and getting a $40 vise and mounting on my bench lol).

Do you know if the front fork will fit the ex5+? It has the wider tire size.
Yes it will! That’s what my bike is, fit the stock 27.5x2.8 just fine.
What's name and size of the new front shock please? 29..or 27.5 wheels?
2018 Fox Factory 36 fork for 27.5" wheels. Hope that helps!
