You bought another race bike. What about the house rule 😢😂🎉
@@alanrodriguez7341 haha one out one in, I’m good!
Were you stationed in Cali . I saw Jordan Engineering USA stickers I thought you might know? 🎉😅🎉
@@alanrodriguez7341 lol I’m in Monterey but moving soon!
@@cchief249 Sounds good. You sure like them bikes!!
Now that's ON THE BRAKES (@ 13:19). Nicely done keeping that under control!
Haha thanks! The woes of no slipper clutch back then.
@@cchief249 She was doing her best to chuck you off! ;) Going to CMP this weekend for my 2nd time, won't be anywhere near this pace, but enjoyed the refresher on the track!
@@alpineacres8042 awesome! Miss that track, coming back east soon and looking forward to getting back out there. Get some coaching and/or follow faster riders, have fun!
Nice job checking on your guy. I hate to see that and I hope he is doing ok.
Thanks! He's doing well now, appreciate it.
Besides the brake pads did you do anything for the brakes? Any specific brand you recommend for brake pads ? I'm still running stock ones and they suck lol....dope video 💯
Thanks man! Nothing more other than pads; ABS intervention is annoying but only comes in when I’m really braking hard. I recommend SBS (what I currently use), brembo, vesrah. Hope that helps!
@cchief249 I have heard good things about vesrah but I'll definitely look into those sbs pads as well. Thanks for the response
Any tuning involved for the new intake cam?
Yes! So the original tune I had on the bike accounted for this cam, I just hadn’t installed it in time for my first race.
Amazing riding, you were flying! 2 questions- did you get a slipper clutch and if not did you feel like you needed one? I heard the back locking up under braking/downshifts. And were you happy with the gearing? Seemed long and maybe was why that R6 was getting such insane drive out of slower corners. I'm debating getting a 600RR or something else.
Thanks! I did not get a slipper, although I should have due to the locking issues I was having like you say. The gearing could have been a little better maybe, but it was pretty close; that bike was just quite slow compared to everything else, it was an ‘05. Loved it, but she was an old girl. Newer CBRs I’ve heard are quite good though! Hope that helps! Cheers.
Dank
You’re a good dude man!
I know you didn’t go the route, but could you install the dropper post through the bottom bracket??
Awesome job mate! It would be great if you can add to the description some of the links of the stuff you got. I could track pretty much everything, except for that front mask you used. Could you please tell me where to get it? Thanks a lot!!
Great run! ...mind you, there was still 50 uphill and Lookout Ridge before you could call it done!
Thanks! Oh yes, just filmed the timed stuff. Definitely a longer day than advertised lol.
Free water bottles.
And I didn’t even get one haha
@@cchief249 me neither
You probably know this, swap out the OEM battery for an Antigravity ATZ 10 and save 2.5kgs in weight.
Oh I have one, unfortunately the MotoAmerica Hooligan class has a minimum weight of 377 lbs so I have to make the bike heavy where I can. Good looking out though!
sorry if I have over looked the specific video,. Have you done a front ABS delete? where do you cover it? Thanks
I’ve deleted the ABS entirely. I removed the stock lines and ran direct lines from master cylinder to caliper front & rear. I then plugged the ABS pump with bolts and installed the 790 ABS delete dongle in the tail section. Hope that helps!
Thank you
What AIM SOLO MOUNT IS THAT?
Not an official mount, I used a quad lock handlebar mount and bolted the AIM plate to it!
What is the bike weighing now?
Within the 377 limit, having to ballast with fuel and lead 👍
I know you’ve said “no”, but it really does seam to me you target fixated (not that I would’ve done better). The way you barrel into his dust in a corner you easily could have made, and nearly hit his bike saying “god damn it”. Anyway, you’re a better rider than I’ll probably ever be, I’m glad he’s ok and I surely appreciate the video.
Maybe there was! From my recollection, we meant to go out together to get riding in, so I chose to go off with him to see if he was okay but also just because I wasn’t going to go out and ride alone, that wasn’t the point of that session. Also been in Cali long enough that I’m conditioned to their red flags, which is to stop on track to let ambulance out, so I would have just been sitting in track anyway, might as well be by him to help in any way I could. Won’t fully deny target fixation, but this was just my decision I made at that time. Good or better riders I’m not sure matters, we all know there’s a bunch of stuff that runs through our head when this stuff happens. Anyway, cheers!
About to turn my 22 model into a dedicated track bike my 09 is getting a little long in the teeth, did you remove the entire ABS system or just plug the pump ?
Awesome! I removed the entire system and ran direct lines from master cylinders to the calipers. Hope that helps, good luck with your build!
@@cchief249 cheers mate! Was it a big job to get it out can't really find much info floating around regarding it haha
@@OzTrollracing it isn't bad at all. Follow the lines to the pump, remove them off the bike, either plug the holes on the pump (easier to return to stock in the future) or remove it altogether, re-install non-ABS brake lines from MCs to calipers. It's a simple system, just follow the lines and take your time!

Awesome! Glad it helps, super fun track, have a great time 🤙
may i ask EXACTLY what rear rotor that is? glad you're OK from the crash btw..
Thanks! Was a pretty innocent (but fast) lowside, no injury and got the bike going for the next race. Rotor is this one here: www.hsbkracing.com/parts-and-apparel/kawasaki/ninja-zx6r/brake-clutch-controls/brake-rotors/kawasaki-ninja-zx6r-zx636-zx10r-versus-650-racing-lightweight-rear-brake-disk-rotor/ But you can find them elsewhere for cheaper. Hope that helps!
What Degree Clips ons do you Prefer? 7 degree or 0 Degree?
I've always preferred the zero degree, probably due to growing up racing motocross, I enjoy a wider set control area and getting my elbows out in the corners. Hope that helps!
@@cchief249 Bro it’s Helps more then you know.. I Also Come from a Motorcross background. I’ve Raced my whole life. And I’m used to a higher bar. My 05 Zx10r isn’t comfortable to me at higher lean angles. Been looking at clip ons. So I’m gonna try the 0 degree. Thanks man I appreciate the feedback

do you guys have idea if there will be a practice run before the event? can you please share the course map? Planning to join the enduro event. Thank you
Awesome! It's a fun event. Per the Sea Otter website, the stages will be the same for this year. So downhill course stage 1, stage 2 is advertised as the dual slalom course but they may change it again as they did in '23 (little trail around the Corkscrew sign), stage 3 is 43 again and stage 4 is 49 north again. DH/DS courses are not open, but you can go practice 43/49 anytime! Hope that helps, I'll be out there again this year.

Hey man, are your vortex. Clip on 7° clip ons?
No I usually run the 0 degree! I grew up racing motocross so those have always just felt more natural to me, don’t like drooping down over the bars.
I’m looking forward to see Andy’s prep on the 990. I’m waiting on a 990 R being announced as next bike.
Everyone but his competitors are! haha Yes it'll be awesome to see what he comes out with and how he does on track, near the top I'm sure.
I think the canister just stores the vapour, then it goes back into intake side when bike is running.
Something like that, I just regurgitated what was explained in a Rottweiler Performance video. But yeah, emissions stuff, gotta go! lol
Get some GB Racing covers on, a lot more protection. What sort of height are you, I’ve tried a 890 R as replacement for my 2020 Superduke, but it’s too small for me, waiting to try a 990 Duke.
I definitely like the GB covers, just grabbed what was discounted for me on this one. Protected enough but will get GB if needed in the future! I’m 5’10”, it’s definitely a smaller bike than I’m used to but not bad. I’d love to try the new 990, too!
@@cchief249I’m 6ft and it’s just too compact for me, mate has one but he is a lot shorter and it’s suits his size. Been waiting 2 years since the first 990 spy shots came out, I believe we finally know the 990 is a bigger platform than the 890. Everything went for $9k. Congrats on the new bike! Those new ones look awesome. Pretty much all the video I have is in this video unfortunately. But happy to answer any questions you have. I would start with clip-ons, rearsets, intake/exhaust/tune and that should get you setup pretty well for a nice track-capable street bike.
Very nice man, so stoked for you. Attention to detail is insane! Factory as helllll. - Wrench
Thanks dude! Crew's about to get after it, leggo!!
Have you weighed the bike and sorted out how much you have to add and where to put the extra weight ?
I have not yet! Plan to do so soon to see if I need to add anything, fingers crossed I don't!
@@cchief249 You definitely will need to add weight. Fully stock with the original exhaust and all the road legal crap it is already under the weight limit. And you have definitely made it even lighter. Edit. Seams that the rules about weight limit have changed. Now it is minimum of 377 lbs Used to be over 400.
@@wiwwee1 For sure, I have lead I can add once I figure out how much. Likely in a compartment under the seat and then attach some to the underside of the bike if I need more.
Seems pretty reasonable $$ for a race bike.
Yeah not too bad, will jump up if I ever decide to do suspension and motor work but that's just the cost of doing business!

What handle bars did you change to
They're the zero offset Renthals, only ones they make I believe. I'll put a parts list in the next part since it was requested by another as well!
Couldn't quite make it out watching the video, but did you undo or reroute the brake line bracket to get the front stand in place? I was about to buy a similar stand but noticed the bracket sits right underneath the hole where it would fit. Good luck in super hooligans! Cheers!
I did! I think I briefly show it in Part I video. One bolt and you can push it aside. You could easily fashion it to the triple clamp in a spot out of the way, I didn't because I knew I was putting new lines on this build, which you'll see in a future video. Hope that helps! And thanks!
