I had one of the solid body Mosrite style - flat fingerboard-- gorgeous tone and build quality - lesser models were sold at Lowes hardware in the 1960's.
It's pronounced "TEYE SCO", I lived in Japan from 63-66 and was given a SS-4L for Christmas in 1964 they purchased it from the Navy Exchange in Yokohama, also a Teisco 71-R 1964 Vintage Tube Amp with Reverb & Tremolo modules on board.
Thanks! It was nice to do this video - I don't play these guitars much and I found that they play and sound good in the studio. I might do some recordings with these soon.
When I was ten years old, in 1967, I took guitar lessons like all inspiring rock-n-roll musicians did in my day. There was a teenage next to me in class who had a Teisco with a builtin amp. Back then, I thought that was so cool. Of course I did not get one for Christmas.
Cool Teisco collection! BTW, it’s pronounced “Tie-sco”, not “Te-sco”. It’s an anagram-Tokyo Electric Instrument Sound Company. My first electric guitar was a 1964 Teisco-built St George. And in college in 1969, a friend of mine had the bass version of the EP-200. The first one you showed, with the built-in effects, is pretty wild! Get the right battery connector in there so you can show us what it sounds like! Built-in effects was kind of a thing in the lare ‘60s and early. ‘70s-I remember Vox had a line of guitars in ‘67 that had really awful built-in effects, including a wah-wah that was actuated by the heel of the right hand on a triangular lever behind the bridge. Psychedelic! And hard to pick while using the thing.
hello. your EP-17T is earlier then the two others. should be around 1963 or 64. teisco used the T-shaped metal badge on the headstock around this time. nice guitar :o)
I would love get more info on teisco built guitars. I have a couple harmony's , Kay's, silvertones' a Mayfair a kingston and I think one is a kawaii ( alas no teisco proper) I also have a couple mystery guitars I can't identify. Could you plz link me a couple sites????
Hello, Online I found a tiesco les paul 1970 that drove me crazy, I'm a bit afraid to buy it since I don't know this brand and online there are not much specifics about this guitar .. Could you tell me more about it? Thank you
David Lindley and his good buddy Ry Cooder frequently played Teisco guitars (if you don't know who they were, you should look them up ---- you can find many videos of Lindley and his mutant reggae-rock/world music band ElRayo-X on TH-cam, in big stages around the world). I'm told that Robert Smith of the Cure also played one.
Tengo está guitarra ev- 52t teisco lo cuál no se dónde llevar a hacer un mantenimiento ya que nadie conoce su diagrama o circuito, todos me dices que es muy complicado¿.que pue hacer?

AWSOME!! I just picked up a Teisco that has 4 pick ups. Stayed on a closet for 37 years. Mint

Cool!
I have a 1968 Teisco EP 2T red in colour had it since I was 10!! My mum bought it from the guitarist in the theatre band at the time doing "Godspell".
Very cool , it looks like a Mosrite ' Combo ' , which I love because it is so quirky looking , Thanks for the video!
It does definitely look 'Mosrite inspired'! Thanks for watching
Please fix the battery jack and give us and updated video. I'm dying to hear it.
Love that Chapman stick in the back
The first and 3rd guitars are rare and seldom seen, especially the first one which is probably worth Between $1000 and $1600
The pickups sound sweet.. nice
Very nice collection ! 😍👍

Growing up in the 70 we always pronounced it "TEE- S- CO" .

You should've took care of the battery issue before doing the video 😮

I never seen a famous person play one ???

..why not just tape the battery in temporarily and showcase the effects
Good news. The battery compartment is being fixed so a demo of the effects should be coming soon
..mosrite celebrity?
I think your EP-17T is older than 1969. The tailpiece and a few other factors would indicate 1964 or a bit earlier.
Interesting! I'll see if I can figure that out.
very cool
I've got two 1960s one small body one large I'd like to find more info on them I've tried to Google them but it's incomplete any advice
