This video didn't really show anything different from the original game. Was hoping to find information about the variants.
hah rookies. best advice i can give to new players is always contribute the bare minimum to survive. conserve your supply cards. no need to dump 10 cans of food into the food supply if only 2 survivors are there. you never know when those crisis cards are coming. you may need those food cards later. same thing with burning through med cards on non-threatening injuries, using gas unnecessarily, or building advancements that aren't needed. burning through precious supplies that you will miss later. Crisis is always a top priority. all it takes is 2 or 3 failed crisis and it's game over.
Loved the stream! Looking forward to getting this expansion one day, seems pretty awesome. But my copy of Dead of Winter is still pretty fresh, so I'll hold off until I've played the original a few times.
I did notice a couple of mistakes, so since you asked:
1. You can only clean waste if you have at least one survivor in the colony. I believe one of you did that while they weren't at the colony.
2. You don't need to play outsider cards immediately when they're drawn. They go into your hand like any other card, and you can choose whether or not you want to play it.

I forgot a few rules during my play-through as well.. There's quite a few to keep track of in this game (: But as long as everyone's having fun it doesn't really matter.
A third thing I forgot to mention is that you should add zombies to locations in a specific order: first at the Colony, then at the locations (in location order), and then you resolve noise (in location order). In most cases it won't really matter in which order you do it, but in some cases it does.

Difficult to find a play through where they know the rules from top to bottom...
I'm at 40 mins in, how come none of them contributed to the crisis on turn 1? I swear they're going to lose.

Let me ask you, is it as good as I think it is? Because I have VERY HIGH expectations of the game and think it's fucking awesome.
If you are a game enthusiast then HELL YESSS you will love it. However, If you are just looking for a quick game to play with friends then maybe not as rules are (lets say) extensive. It took me and my friends like two whole games to fully get to grips with the rules. I hope this helps

Where do you get those little cup to hold the token? I have to throw all the game contents all mixed up in the box. lol. I was thinking of getting small zip bag but those cup seem amazing for most game.

How much did your copy cost? Because on Amazon it is almost twice as much as the original at $83.00
We got it early at origins game fair for about $65 USD
Always check the original retailer first when it comes to Amazon. Plaid Hat games has every single game they sell cheaper than Amazon is selling by a wide margin.
