The mental image of a heavily injured Laurie Strode just skateboarding away with two kids in tow is pretty good.
One rule you did not seem to use: If a player runs through Michael, they have to stop in the square in front of him, and he gets an immediate attack on that player.
Did the video get edited or was that not what is stated at 5:20? Hate when I read a rule and immediately miss it in play. 😅
Since Loomis' gun has his picture on the back, I don't think it goes into the search decks. I think he just dies with it in his hands.
Well explained and pretty immersive. Thank you 🎲
Enjoyable playthrough, thx!
This an entertaining game, it just a shame everyone I know doesn’t like board games or horror movies.
Really seems to share a lot of mechanics with the chainsaw massacre game you recently featured.🤔
While a victim is moving forward does MM immediately appear “before” end of movement if he is your direction line of sight (since you are likely looking straight ahead)? This matters either way - since you would likely not keep moving toward him and into him if so? Also, if a victim ever does move into MM I understand he immediately attacks - which does or does not end your turn? And if so, then does he then get to attack you twice more as his turn as well (3 attacks)?
Looks like a fun game. Michael did some wonky stuff and I am not sure if that Skateboard isn't about OP, but still need the game in my collection. Does Loomis's starting item actually go in the search pile or does it get discarded with him? Seems odd that they would allow any player to get that gun that doesn't need ammo. Were there any variants or extra rules in the rulebook as far as making it harder or anything?
I don’t see anywhere in the game instructions where it says to put the Loomis and Brackett starting guns back in the pile. I think that is a mistake.
I'm honestly not sure, I had the opposite take where I saw no where in the rules saying they dont' go into the pile so I assumed they became regular items once they were in play.
Uh, what a theme.
But, otherwise, it is different! I think this could be really funny for a group of friends, trying to kill each other one match at a time XD
I am a little confused on movement. Do you always move “forward,” or could you move to an adjacent space backward or sideways? The Victims Card says “choose a direction at the end of your turn,” which makes me think you maintain the same direction as you start, throughout any particular movement action. Does this make sense?
You move freely from space to space. The direction you're facing only matters at the end of the action you moved.
Great video!!!
Nice rules explanation! One rule I am not sure about is the free action card for Michael Myers. Can we use several free action cards in the same turn?
If I am not mistaken, no we cannot. I believe it is one free action per turn, to create the illusion of having 3 actions in a turn.
That was stressful!!!
It would be awesome if you did a play through of the Chucky game
I am planning on making more videos this year for Trick or Treat, but that isn't on the list, sorry.
Looks good. When did Michael become a they/them? Kinda threw me off a few times when I thought you were talking about the victims, not singular Michael.
Michael Myers of course isn't real. I imagine he was referring to the hypothetical person playing the opposing side in a rules overview. It's standard to use "they" in that case.
In fairness no one ever, in canon, asked him his preferred pronouns, almost as if, and just going out on a limb here, such notions are a modern concoction.
If you ask Loomis, Michael is in fact an "it".
Oh for goodness sake
At 57:09 in your video...'Lynda' takes an exertion piece to draw an extra card? Can't find that in the rules...
I believe that is Lyndas trait. On her character card.
This game is amazing. The amount of actual strategy as micheal and the anxiety as a victim. It's so well done. Highly recommend. This IS the best playthrough / learn how video out. Great job .
Nice tutorial. Quick question, is it possible to play this game solo where michael or the survivors are controlled by the game?
Not without variant rules.
Kinda. It takes away the suspense, knowing where Micheal is, but it is possible to stalk yourself, kind of like chasing the pieces down, as you try and search. It does take a lot of suspense away, and obviously victims have major advantages knowing where Micheal is, so it becomes more like a speed run than a suspenseful hide and seek. Recommended with friends, but not impossible alone. My first two games were alone, just to teach myself the basics. No characters can be controlled by the game though.
Mine arrives today!!! Can’t wait to table it.
It's funny when dying the items Go Back to the search pile instead of staying there 😂 makes no sense but mechanically I understand it
You could make a search pile on the death square.
it’s Dr.loomis not Dr.luis.
I was looking for this comment lol I was like “LOOMIS!!” 🤣
@@deevo11 sometimes you gotta let people know, you know?
Great video, but by using the words "they" and "them" you kept throwing me off and it was hard to follow a lot if the times. Maybe next time, just you the character's name? Other than that, a great video.
