    Hello teacher!
    I hope this message finds you well.
    As a dedicated fan and subscriber, I regularly follow your TH-cam videos and deeply appreciate your insights. I am reaching out to seek your valuable advice regarding my career.
    I passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) and worked as a licensed public Secondary English teacher with the Department of Education (DepEd) from 2013 to 2019. Since then, I have been an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in Japan.
    I am now exploring teaching opportunities in the United States and would greatly appreciate your guidance on the best steps to take. Specifically, would you advise pursuing Special Education (SPED) units to enhance my chances of being hired? I understand that SPED teachers are in demand, and that it might be more challenging for Secondary English teachers to secure long-term positions and an H1B visa compared to SPED teachers.
    Your insights would be immensely helpful as I navigate this decision. Thank you very much for your time and advice.
    Sincerely,
    Nelson

    How about those who are currently teaching in state universities? Will their teaching experience be considered relevant? If so, in what level should they apply?

    Kaya pala. I only have one year experience in teaching secondary level. Sa college level ako nagtuturo. My bachelor's degree is not Bachelor of Secondary Education. Although I am a license teacher (through DPE), considering the tough competition, I am a less desirable candidate. Kung nag-apply siguro ako 10 years ago, mas may chance pa sana.

    • @Teachingandmore
      @Teachingandmore  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It looks like that had been the reason. They really do look into the alignment across the applicant's degree, experience, and the post being applied for. They are okay with an applicant coming from the college level just like in my case but I was teaching physics as well. When I applied I have been at that level for the last 7 years but I also had 10 years in the secondary also teaching physics so it's physics through and through.

      There is no requirement when it comes to either private or public. In the US, that subject will be the CTE. It's an elective but students get certification if they pass the subject and the exam. I hope this article helps facebook.com/photo/?fbid=494238563155907&set=a.174916271754806

    I have about 7 years teaching experience in schools.my subject is physics. Currently my work is not in a school, but in an academy ( entrance coaching) . Will this experience in academy count if I apply next year ? Or is it that I should be currently working in a school and not in an academy?

    • @Teachingandmore
      @Teachingandmore  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Is that like a review center? You can apply. If they will not count it, then work on it next time. I think they will ask how many hours a week you are teaching. I do not know how academies are in your country because the academies here in the Philippines are just like a regular school so they count.

      @@Teachingandmore the teaching periods are less here.more of admin work. So I want to ask a question related to this. I already have 7+ years of teaching experience. It says I have to be currently working in a school to apply for j1 visa. So if I resign from this admin job and join a school before 1 or 2 months of the application time, will that satisfy the eligibility condition? Hope you will reply.

    • @Teachingandmore
      @Teachingandmore  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@directajith it will satisfy the requirement that you should be currently teaching full time. Before you resign, you should try applying first. If anything the only expense you will have is the FCE. FCE is valid for 5 years so you can use it again next time if indeed they will not qualify you because you are currently not a full time classroom teacher.
