SO cool! I've ridden the Belle a number of times since I was a small boy (right about 1963, when it first went into service for our city!). WONDERFUL video, brought back SO many great memories!

As a veteran of US Navy, I cringe when I hear a ship referred to as a 'boat'. In the Navy, the distinction is that a 'boat' can be carried on a 'ship'. (Submarines of course are the exception: Submarines are 'boats'.)
Thanks for the feedback! We have been referred to as a steamboat since 1914, and were built in the same style as vessels that have been referred to as boats for the 100 years before that. It would be so cool if we were big enough to be a ship! Hopefully one day you can ride along and experience the Belle for yourself.
I find it absolutely amazing, that we managed to take care of this vessel for 108 years!
