How many miles since you last drained the OCC? That was a decent amount of oil that came out. I noticed I had oil all over my PCV valve when I replaced it last weekend. I'm getting ready to install a OCC myself, after I install a new gasket on my original water pump. BTW, install a petcock in place of the bleeder plug on the water pump. It was so convenient to use when I PEAK flushed my coolant system (minus the heater core) 2yrs ago. Rinsed the system 6x with distilled water, until it was almost perfectly clear prior to refilling it with coolant. I hooked up a little clear hose that fit in the petcock, it would drain into a bucket during the bleeding process.
It hasn't been that many miles it's quite shocking definitely glad to have it rather than not. That's alot of oil that would be going through and obviously has been going through the engine for years it really is mind blowing how much oil gets collected
So was the water pump leaking or just not circulating properly anymore? My girlfriend has the same car with about 85,000 MI and it's been wanting to overheat lately even in cool weather and the heater is hit and miss. There's plenty of coolant, the fans are blowing hard so I think it might be the water pump. My 300 needed one but that's after I started leaking at the water pump pulley. Hers doesn't seem to be leaking so that's why I'm asking what is yours leaking or just not pumping properly? Her reservoir is a little dirty inside but mostly just stained like the previous owner used to incorrect coolant and I know that that can be problem but we've slowly added the correct kind after dropping some throughout the summer. I'm sure I could flush the radiator a bit but I don't think it's actually that big of a problem to make it want to overheat during the winter I'm pretty sure it's just not circulating and that's why it wants to overheat yet still has totally full coolant level
Hey so I had a question for you about the rubber gasket that comes in this waterpump kit if you remember it... do I need to add any RTV or gasket sealer on the inside of the pump or do I just use the rubber band thing they gave me?
awesome light parade
Very well documented. Ty
You're welcome
Clean instal nice dude🙌🏼👍🏼😊
Good camera work. I was asking what ft/lbs, but I need to watch the whole video. I see you later said 20.
great work!!

Awesome video thank you
Great video. Question, how hard is this install if you’re not a true mechanic but you’re able to do some work on cars when needed? Thanks
i'm not a true mechanic bro you got this

My wp was leaking. You have to be aware of small leaks they will build up air pockets that won't bleed out automatically and cause overheating
Not bad man, I didn’t see the gasket go in..

Just the gasket is fine. Make sure you torque it
@@GibsonGarage Thanks, appreciate it
Good video bro i just did alternator and was wondering how hard it was to change water pump 💯
its easy I have a video on that too
Ty
Did u mention which 2(?) bolts needed thread sealer? (maybe I missed it)
If I remember correctly, you don't need any sealant on any of them. The repair manual doesn't mention the need for it
Do you have a diagram of how the timing belt is suppose to go on
Nice
You don’t have to bleed out the coolant when replacing the water pump
Yeah I guess you could just let it go all over the ground
