small feedback from a long course warrior: there is another variant for this build. if you plan in doing some/a lot of dungeon. skip 1 point in improved hamstring and 1 point in improved 2handed damage and spend 2 in in improved charge. the possibility of quick sweeping strike after charge is a significant boost in your dmg if followed by a ww. it's a small detail that will let you win every recount battle in instances! same thing for crazed regeneration, can be spent on improved battle shout if you plan to level up in dungeons. m2c
I know people say switch to arms at 40. But sweeping strikes is underrated at 30 and dungeon tanking is easier with TM and AM. So I stay with arms all the way up.
Defenetly agree with the arms over fury. But id prioritize imp overpower faster. Maybe even before deep wounds. It you got that you are happy to see mobs dodge your attacks
The reason to go deep wounds is because charge stuns mobs, preventing your first attacks from BEING dodged, and hamstring can crit. So while on paper, improved overpower seems good (primarily because it can proc deep wounds), in reality, it is not that useful for short fights. You can't even start overpowering till 3.5 seconds usually. Then your overpower can actually start working, at which point you probably have 1-2 chances every 3.5 seconds for a 5% proc to happen which gives you an extra attack, and then you get to add 100% damage to that attack 25% of the time? So it does roughly 25% more damage on 5% of your attacks that are not in the first 3.5 seconds of a fight? In addition, deep wounds, I strongly suspect, is interacting very favorably with armor. Bleed damage ignores armor.... but it seems like deep wounds adds your base weapon damage as a bleed, NOT your weapon damage after armor reduction. So it SEEMS like it only adds 60% weapon damage on crits (Which include cleave and hamstring crits, and I think you can crit on shield bash and mocking blow too, though I am not sure), but it's probably... more like 75-80% of your base weapon damage, once maxed. You will waste a lot of deep wounds damage on weak enemies, but it's just a ton of damage to be throwing around in general.
Atacus, cheers for the video but I have to massively disagree with the arms build. Let me tell you what I've theorycrafted off private server testing along with a host of high end warrior players, as being the absolute best build for leveling. This is the order to take your talents: 1) 5/5 parry 2) 3/3 rend 3) 2/5 tactical mastery 4) 2/2 improved overpower 5) 3/3 deep wounds 6) 5/5 improved two hand weapon 7) 1/1 sweeping strikes 8) 3/5 axe specialisation 9) 5/5 tactical mastery 10) 5/5 axe specialisation 11) 1/1 anger management 12) 1/1 mortal strike Parry is insanely useful for leveling as its both defensive and offensive (parry haste). Tactical mastery is almost useless aside from 2 points for intercept, but at level 36 you'll want 5/5 for stance dance once you've got whirlwind. Impale only increases the damage of your crits from abilities, not white hits. It's also not by 20% it's actually 10%. Basically it makes your crit damage go from 200% to 220% (hence 10% increase). Damage from abilities pre level 40 is only around 40%, so impale works out around 0.4% damage increase per point as your crit will be very low (around 10%). This means two hand weapon specialisation is king for leveling, with 1 point being equal to 1% damage. Anger management is something you can get along without. You can't skip impale its one of the biggest power spikes you get while leveling. Maybe only go 3 parry and put the 2 into impale? The 2 in impale will shine even more when you go into the fury tree and get cruelty.

Overpower only procs off a dodge as you know, which means you only overpower on average between 3-10% of the time, based off the mob level you're fighting - if you're fighting mobs the same level as you it's around 6%. So 6% of the time you can use overpower. Overpower has around a 60% chance to crit if you have an axe. So 40% of the time you won't crit, and Impale isn't utilised. When it does proc (6%) and it does crit (60%) then your crit damage will improve from 200% crit to 220% crit. This is a 10% damage increase on an ability that only procs 6% of the time and 40% of the time it doesn't crit. Impale is not a power spike. It is worth around 0.4% damage per point, whereas two hand spec is worth 1% damage per point, and Parry is worth 1% damage mitigation + 1% chance to proc Parry haste per point. The math just doesn't add up on Impale until you get Mortal Strike + Cruelty (and axe spec)

No one ever talks about Sunder Armor, Sunder is OP everytime you dont have a tank warrior applying it. It lowers targets armor making the warrior gain about a heroic strikes worth in damage per hit at or near 5 stacks. Hitting the target harder means u also generate more rage meaning that with 5x sunders u can almost perma spam Heroic strike becuase you gain so much rage with offhand attacks. I generaly get mobs to 3x sunders (5x if its a high armor mob I.E. a bear) while questing
That's a terrible idea. Spending all that rage on mobs while you're QUESTING? Absolutely not worth it. Green/yellow mobs will never be alive long enough that you wouldn't have just been better off spending the rage on something else.

Piercing howl is so good. If you're in the midst of a bunch of yellow mobs then you need piercing howl. If you're grinding out green mobs then you want to go arms and get anger management
Would you be opposed to doing another talent guide later that covers your raid spec vs pvp? I Imagine they're different for mortal strike. But I have heard fury is viable for pvp as well, so I'm curious as to what your plans are.
Blood Craze seems sort useless when you can put three additional points into improved battleshout netting you a 20% increase over a 5% increase, a 15% jump in BS effectiveness sounds better in my head than 3% of my max hp when I get crit. Am I crazy?
This video threw me at first because the way the video is structured it's like you're putting points in both trees for a combined arms/bury build. Just to be clear, these are two separate builds looking at each tree independently.
Hey quick question here. Level 40 here and still cant decide to 2 handed or 2 one handed axes. Saw reddit says that go 2 handed for extra damage on overpower etc. Mind giving some tips. (Currently im using arms 1h axes)
Had a funky idea because tanking in this (arms) spec becomes a pain in the bum after you leave SM at about lvl 40 something... You never really generate fury because everybody is just aoe bombing... the only way to hold aggro in the current meta is by going full DMG SS + WW... It's a tremendous nuke and you more often than not sit on top of the dps charts with a big gap, but you have to tank in Berserk stance to keep the aggro which is a bad thing... So i thought about this: 16 points in Def for +10 def, 1 improved shield block (if you have to wear a shield) and 5 points defiance for the 15% bonus aggro. After that you go down to Fury with the bonus rage, Howl and Enrage for Maximum dmg/fury gen. Theoretically this should allow you to generate such an insane amount of fury while dual wielding that you can dump into cleave which on the other hand will generate tons of aggro... Haven't tryed it out yet, since respeccing is expensive XD Any thoughts on this?
You're tanking with a shield in defensive stance in the video. Is Arms worth it? I'm doing a 100% dungeons leveling.. I'm having trouble finding the right spec.
getting 2/2 improved charge is worth it. Remove 1 point from Imp 2 handed specialization 1 point from imp hamstring 1% 2h damage is not going to be felt at all at these levels, the mob will be dead before that dmg loss can be felt. Imp hamstring is just not usefull enough unless you do lots of pvp and battleground while leveling. and even then 5% is not even worth relying on. The extra rage from imp charge will get you to that mortal strike faster and ultimately give you a faster kill. Think of how fast you kill mobs and how often you charge. The extra rage is very significant over multiple fights. Every raves over AM - 1 rage every 3 seconds. Imp charge is 6 rage every 15 seconds or so depending on kill time and walk distance, great for mob farming. In dungeons its great for helping you have enough rage for grabbing that initial threat on multiple mobs
Hey Atacas, a seasoned warrior in my guild told me to go 5 points in anticipation and then go arms, would you consider this a good route? I dont really see the apeal to get 0.4% dodge, parry and chance to be missed to be that good in early levels, might aswell put 2 points into parry?
Improved Thunderclap should've been a 3point skill. 33/66/100% chance to break CC. No improved cleave ?. . I've always used Imp-cleave combined with SS.. 120% more damage and it annihilates enemies. Merry christmas and a happy new year.
I'm still not sure, If I should talent Fury until 40, then respec to arms for MS, or just go arms from the beginning. I'm planning to level with a priest in duo.
So I'm a level 17 Fury Warrior, how much easier would switching to arms make the rest of the leveling process until i reach the traditional arms respec? Is it worth spending the money at this point to respec? Also, i duo with a rogue, i know not ideal, but would arms still be the ideal branch to level if that's the case? And there's no way protect class would ever be worth it this early even if i have a rogue to dish high damage while i take damage and stay alive? Also, if you have any suggestions on what the branch the rogue should level to best compliment easy pve, that would be great. I can't find these answers anywhere. Thanks again!
evander aa hey mate, I’m not too sure about the rogue but I was a level 31 Fury Warrior and I changed to Arms last night and i am sold on it. Being able to keep your rage when swapping stances just makes your life a lot easier. Eg can switch to defensive stance to shield bash someone. It’s also pretty fast while levelling so I guess it’s just preference. If you have the spare gold and you have read the arms talents, feel free to swap over. Also, arms is better for pvp :)
just dinged lvl 30 I put x2 points in improved charge instead of 2H talent as it helps with starting fights and it's nice for tanking still takes me a good while to kill one mob, but my 2 hander is a bit weak I need to get my whirlwind axe soon
1:00 on rend, I think its an additional chance to proc overpower and deep wounds (as it can be dodged and can crit?), so you will almost always rend just to get those? So why not take more damage to go along with it. Maybe I'm just bad and this isn't how you are supposed to operate, but with a slow 2 hander against singles, I'm usually rend/hamstring then starting to backup to force the mob to chase to attack me and give my autoattack time to reset?
It's better to hamstring than to rend unless your bleed is down. Don't refresh rend until the last tick drops. Hamstring does minimal damage but can proc both overpower and deep wounds with a crit.
@@jamesmcnamee7293 Sure, but I didn't say spam rend, I said to use it. If you gotta apply it more than once to a mob you are killing, ya doin something wrong, heh.
really good guide, but i think you undervaluing the 5% crit from cruelty a little bit too much. warriors are so crit starved early that 5% is huge for flat damage, rage generation, etc.
I'm wondering tho... Why not just rush down to sweeping strikes? Seems the ability to kill multiple mobs at the same time would be key to a good leveling speed.
@@ebyssal Yes but since he invests a lot of points in fury as he levels he is going to unlock it at a much later level than if you just go straight down arms and don't bother with fury early on.
Zemas The point of the video was to compare the two trees, the fury tree is there for a comparison. He’s explaining what you would get in arms versus what you would get in fury, which is why both trees are shown. He doesn’t invest a single point into fury until after maxing out mortal strike in arms.
@@ebyssal Ahh, then I misunderstood the video entirely ^^ I thought he was showing the build he would be leveling with, putting points into both arms and fury before respecing at higher level.
The reason I do that is because you already can parry, and you already generate rage from charging, but you dont have a chance to root someone with your hamstring, and when you do land a root from that you’ll be thankful you have it.
DW is not viable until you get the hit% gear for it to offset the penalty. Once you have that gear, it's better (even without HS Queuing) especially alliance side.
Correct me if I am wrong but that is a 30/30/0 build? How is that possible when you get your 1st talent at level 10 in Classic WoW? Is that on Vanilla servers? Not trolling , just curious. I'm subscribed to Atacas btw.
MS is based on weapon damage - the effect of attack power on the damage caused is normalized where 14 AP = 1 dps = 3.3 damage per swing (for 2h it's normalized to 3.3 seconds, for daggers and other 1hs and ranged it's different)
Its possible on classic servers but handling more than 3 mobs at a time as warrior means you got yourself some blue gear from the auction house most of the time
Ain't gonna lie man. Been playing warr for the past 15 years. I've done countless speed runs to 30 and even 40. You jumping back and forth like that during your 30-40 phase is completely pointless and confusing. There was no real world benefit from any of that other than just words. Its been proven that the lvl 32 switch to arms is the most effective leveling strat with Sweeping Strikes. Your build has you completely missing that window of opportunity. I think its a creative approach to the class... but it deffintly isnt them ost effective strat for leveling a warrior. Good luck to anyone who follows this guide. *also, from reading the comments, if you DW as a fury warr pre hit cap... delete your account. (Not directed at you Atacas)
KanvaStreamZ as i said at the beginning of the video, I’m comparing the specs side by side, not bouncing back and forth between the two. I spec straight down through arms for leveling.
@@Atacas are you lvling arms pre lvl 40 based off of Perry Haste? Just curious. It seems that Fury has more pre lvl 30 bonuses compared to arms. The stance dance solution into the second tier provides no actual benefit through leveling your later teens. Doesnt complety help till lvl 32 when you are able to use berserker stance. Just seems unorthodox and not efficient. No way you could beat a fury warr time racing to lvl 30. It just has way more % chance of dropping a target. Also piercing howel to get away (like you said). Makes it way easier to mitigate danger
KanvaStreamZ i prefer arms, deep wounds and impale are more beneficial as it adds an additional damage effect as opposed to just more crit chance, and enrage isnt worth now with sot proccing not working

Daniel Orichio it could be a pretty big difference, +weapon skill helps you not miss as much and reduces glancing blows, and white hit damage is a big portion of your dps
If you get 5/5 tactical mastery, why on AZEROTH wouldn't you put your next talent point into Anger management? Anger Management is WAY better than one point in booming voice. Then you did the same thing with piercing howl. Bro, you should seriously reconsider this build. AND THEN THE SAME THING WITH SWEEOING STRIKES AND DEATH WISH! Oh my gods! You had me with the 5 point dip into Cruelty into Tactical Mastery but after that is build is a joke. I hope no one follows this. OUCH.

16 points in Def for +10 def, 1 improved shield block (if you have to wear a shield) and 5 points defiance for the 15% bonus aggro.
After that you go down to Fury with the bonus rage, Howl and Enrage for Maximum dmg/fury gen.
Theoretically this should allow you to generate such an insane amount of fury while dual wielding that you can dump into cleave which on the other hand will generate tons of aggro...
Haven't tryed it out yet, since respeccing is expensive XD

getting 2/2 improved charge is worth it.
Remove 1 point from Imp 2 handed specialization
1 point from imp hamstring
1% 2h damage is not going to be felt at all at these levels, the mob will be dead before that dmg loss can be felt. Imp hamstring is just not usefull enough unless you do lots of pvp and battleground while leveling. and even then 5% is not even worth relying on. The extra rage from imp charge will get you to that mortal strike faster and ultimately give you a faster kill. Think of how fast you kill mobs and how often you charge. The extra rage is very significant over multiple fights.
Every raves over AM - 1 rage every 3 seconds.
Imp charge is 6 rage every 15 seconds or so depending on kill time and walk distance, great for mob farming.
In dungeons its great for helping you have enough rage for grabbing that initial threat on multiple mobs
Hey Atacas, a seasoned warrior in my guild told me to go 5 points in anticipation and then go arms, would you consider this a good route? I dont really see the apeal to get 0.4% dodge, parry and chance to be missed to be that good in early levels, might aswell put 2 points into parry?
The Daily Donger there is absolutely no reason to put points in anticipation
Do I need to respec f.e. at 51 lvl to get Polearm Specialization instead of Axe Specialization? Because At 51 there is very good polearm from AV

So I'm a level 17 Fury Warrior, how much easier would switching to arms make the rest of the leveling process until i reach the traditional arms respec? Is it worth spending the money at this point to respec? Also, i duo with a rogue, i know not ideal, but would arms still be the ideal branch to level if that's the case?
And there's no way protect class would ever be worth it this early even if i have a rogue to dish high damage while i take damage and stay alive?
Also, if you have any suggestions on what the branch the rogue should level to best compliment easy pve, that would be great. I can't find these answers anywhere. Thanks again!
evander aa hey mate, I’m not too sure about the rogue but I was a level 31 Fury Warrior and I changed to Arms last night and i am sold on it. Being able to keep your rage when swapping stances just makes your life a lot easier. Eg can switch to defensive stance to shield bash someone. It’s also pretty fast while levelling so I guess it’s just preference.
If you have the spare gold and you have read the arms talents, feel free to swap over. Also, arms is better for pvp :)

You can do either. If you level Fury , you will respect to Arms at 40 for Mortal Strike, then go back work your way back into Fury.
just dinged lvl 30 I put x2 points in improved charge instead of 2H talent as it helps with starting fights and it's nice for tanking
still takes me a good while to kill one mob, but my 2 hander is a bit weak I need to get my whirlwind axe soon

1:00 on rend, I think its an additional chance to proc overpower and deep wounds (as it can be dodged and can crit?), so you will almost always rend just to get those? So why not take more damage to go along with it. Maybe I'm just bad and this isn't how you are supposed to operate, but with a slow 2 hander against singles, I'm usually rend/hamstring then starting to backup to force the mob to chase to attack me and give my autoattack time to reset?
It's better to hamstring than to rend unless your bleed is down. Don't refresh rend until the last tick drops. Hamstring does minimal damage but can proc both overpower and deep wounds with a crit.

really good guide, but i think you undervaluing the 5% crit from cruelty a little bit too much. warriors are so crit starved early that 5% is huge for flat damage, rage generation, etc.
also booming voice is surprisingly good as well. amazing with piercing howl for kiting mobs to survive

Zemas The point of the video was to compare the two trees, the fury tree is there for a comparison. He’s explaining what you would get in arms versus what you would get in fury, which is why both trees are shown. He doesn’t invest a single point into fury until after maxing out mortal strike in arms.

Can anyone explain why the 1 point in Improved Hamstring is better than 1 extra point in Deflection or Improved Charge?
The reason I do that is because you already can parry, and you already generate rage from charging, but you dont have a chance to root someone with your hamstring, and when you do land a root from that you’ll be thankful you have it.

DW is not viable until you get the hit% gear for it to offset the penalty. Once you have that gear, it's better (even without HS Queuing) especially alliance side.

MS was normalized in TBC or wotlk iirc
MS is based on weapon damage - the effect of attack power on the damage caused is normalized where 14 AP = 1 dps = 3.3 damage per swing (for 2h it's normalized to 3.3 seconds, for daggers and other 1hs and ranged it's different)

Its possible on classic servers but handling more than 3 mobs at a time as warrior means you got yourself some blue gear from the auction house most of the time

hiddanek you could do that, but i just dont think the 5 percent crit helps as much as the the early talents in arms to at the beginning
Ain't gonna lie man. Been playing warr for the past 15 years. I've done countless speed runs to 30 and even 40. You jumping back and forth like that during your 30-40 phase is completely pointless and confusing. There was no real world benefit from any of that other than just words. Its been proven that the lvl 32 switch to arms is the most effective leveling strat with Sweeping Strikes. Your build has you completely missing that window of opportunity. I think its a creative approach to the class... but it deffintly isnt them ost effective strat for leveling a warrior. Good luck to anyone who follows this guide.
*also, from reading the comments, if you DW as a fury warr pre hit cap... delete your account. (Not directed at you Atacas)

@@Atacas are you lvling arms pre lvl 40 based off of Perry Haste? Just curious. It seems that Fury has more pre lvl 30 bonuses compared to arms. The stance dance solution into the second tier provides no actual benefit through leveling your later teens. Doesnt complety help till lvl 32 when you are able to use berserker stance. Just seems unorthodox and not efficient. No way you could beat a fury warr time racing to lvl 30. It just has way more % chance of dropping a target. Also piercing howel to get away (like you said). Makes it way easier to mitigate danger
KanvaStreamZ i prefer arms, deep wounds and impale are more beneficial as it adds an additional damage effect as opposed to just more crit chance, and enrage isnt worth now with sot proccing not working

While leveling yes, there just isnt that many options for swords or maces, and crit is very important while leveling
