Regarding the ceramic pitkin... Perhaps it was previously used for melting scented wax with essential oils. It has evidently imbedded into the glaze and when heating the pot releases the oils. Just a thought.

If you're having an argument and your spouse is angrier over the matter than he/she should be. YOU shut up and walk away. Then later, when things are more calm go back to talk it out.

I think the receipt kept the chicken coating simple because it depends on the gravy for added flavor. Because your pipkin leached into the gravy and you didn't use it. the flavor isn't as complex as it would have been otherwise. Congratulations and welcome back! I've missed your videos!

If you’re in Virginia and want to visit DC, I recommend Best Western in Alexandria. It’s 20 minutes from DC and close to Mt. Vernon. I’ve stayed there three times because it’s clean and has free breakfast.

Congratulations! Good to see you! Originally from Ohio, my mom made fried mush for breakfast, fried in a bit of bacon grease, buttered and maple syrup. Delicious! Served in Bob Evans restaurants at one time...not sure if it still is. But, must be fried in a bit of bacon grease to be really good!
Congratulations on your marriage! The fried chicken looks amazing and the "mush" (pronounced "mUH-shh" is a real thing ---- you can even order it at Bob Evans restaurants. It not on the menus, but most of the folks know how to make it. It's essentially polenta/corn meal, fried to a crisp on the outside leaving the inside a bit ... mushy! LOL So good!
Did you bother talking to management about getting a refund? There’s no way I would accept not getting a refund for 4 days worth of a stay when there’s blood on the walls/mold etc. What hotel was it? I hope I never stay there it sounds like your going to catch a disease and your clearly going to be taken advantage of at that hotel. That is ridiculous! money is already tight, for that hotel to deny you a full refund for only being there for 30 minutes is unacceptable. I’m glad you found somewhere else nice to stay but if it were me I would have exhausted all my options to make sure I got my money back!
Late reply, but a lot of credit cards offer protection for things like this that people aren’t aware of. Basically they help you dispute the charge based on not receiving what you paid for- in this case due to health hazards. Even 2 months in, I’m sure they could dispute it, letting the card company know they’ve exhausted all other efforts. I would try this 100%!! No way I would pay for something that bad, either!!

Im so happy you guys are back! Williamsburg is my favorite place. I live in Maryland and Mount Vernon is really beautiful too. So many cool places in this area. Congratulations on your marriage!! I’m pretty sure you were supposed to do something to it before using. Earthenware is weird, I remember receiving earthenware and there were instructions that came with it. I ended up giving it away because I didn’t want to deal with it. Great video to the newly wedded couple! Christina’s Tavern and Kings Tavern was my favorite. We like to stay in the historic homes in town. So much fun there!

Congratulations! I was so tempted to run over to Mt. Vernon every day to look for you guys! Is that stalking😅? As a native of Washington, DC, I am so very sorry about your DC hotel experience! Sometimes pricey is better if you are not familiar with the area. (Tip for US citizens coming to DC, check with your Congressperson!) As a Virginia resident, I’m so glad you like Virginia! I absolutely love this state. You two looked right at home at Mt.Vernon and in Williamsburg. Cooler weather is definitely a nicer time to visit this lovely state but not necessarily cheaper! Would be nice to meet you on your next trip to Mt. Vernon. Have a blessed union and much happiness ❤😊

I have a question, do you represent more Virginia Tidewater, New England or the Midwest? The town I grew up in was established in 1794 in West Ohio. We have a reconstruction of our fort from parts of the original. I believe that the pioneers' diet consisted mainly of deer and rabbit until farms were established.

"Troth" means faith & loyalty. Especially used in a Christian weddings, cuz back then, marriages were way more legally & spiritually binding (everything back then was governed by spiritual practices, especially marriage), putting the offenders who were caught braking their wedding vows in prison (yuck, 15th century prison, even for a single day), in some countries, up till the mid 1500s - in some countries, even if the married couple were in agreement to separate &/or allow their spouse to have other lovers - that term "troth" was a legal term & completely legally, & especially spiritually, binding term to which all basis of divorces back then, legally & especially spiritually speaking. (These days marriage isn't taken quite as legally serious. Divorce is so commonplace now.) And, back then, the offended spouse usually had some sort of legal proof. It also made petitioning for a divorce far more lengthy a process.
I love marriage & wedding history. I actually had that term in my husband & my wedding, just for the terrible romance of it.

The best wedding advice that I got on my wedding was from my own grandma. She told me that "you can't live with someone 24/7 and not expect to not bicker." She was right. But you both seem to be best friends like my husband and I are. Wishing you both a happy marriage! I can't wait to see what comes next for the Rayfields!

I agree, it poured at my outdoor wedding 😆 we also had issues during our honeymoon too with the hotel we were at and campsite we booked, ended up losing money but made memories and can look back and laugh now. 😅
