    Wow this looks like a quite an interesting release and upgrade from VW! After having driven a Jetta for a few days, I was quite impressed with the tranmission programming and every day usability of the engine. If this Tiguan reflects that, I think they will have a big winner on their hands here.
    Now if only they'd release a version leveraging the GTI or Golf R engines to amp it up a bit!

    My 1st car was a 56 VW Bug that my dad bought new in Germany, so I’ve always had a nostalgia for VWs. But honestly, VW-Audi cars have long since been known for a less than stellar reputation for reliability and quality; falling into the same company of Chrysler-Fiat, Land Rover and Volvo. However, I always appreciate your enthusiasm and reviews and look forward to all your quality work.

    Looks very nice esp inside. Wonder why they didn't bring the euro model here.But that vehicle should have a bigger engine something like the 2.5L Mazda engine that can push out up to 256 hp.
    Also why why why software/ screen/ virtual controls. My nephew has a Golf R & absolutely hates the virtual controls for climate etc.

    Will be debating between this and the Toyota Signia…will wait for the pricing and see it in person.

      @krane15 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Toyota Crown Signia is not a competitor to the Tiguan. Its more of a crossover than an SUV, and technically in a class above, although similarly priced when fully optioned.

    Trying to determine if this has thigh extension on the drivers seat...I see a video about a month ago for Australia and it seemd to show a thigh extension. That new version had a dog automatic

      The shot at 8:10 does not show one for passenger. You are right to inquire, the motorized thigh supports in my Volvo front seats are an excellent feature.

      No. It's missing many cool features vs other markets. Thigh extensions, 40.20
      40 split seats. Paddle shifters etc.

      but then they gave you piano black above the wheels causing it to look like it has huge wheel gap.

    Like the looks, the interior is beautiful minus the small amount of piano black. Definitely not a fan of the wheels. Interested to see what the price would be.

    Still a solid parcel shelf. Why not a retractable one? If you want to carry a dog in the rear, then there is nowhere to put the solid shelf if you have rear passengers.

    So is that big deep storage space just anterior to the center arm rest open all the time? I’d feel like I was sitting next to a trash can.

    Love my 2021Tiguan SEL. 2025 looks good but really don’t like the “dial-o-matic” drive mode selector. Also, the infotainment screen looks like an after thought, a temp addition just slapped on to the dash. Like the dash of my 2021 much better.

    I admit how one feels about column shifter is based on his/her personal preference, for many, including me, it is a strong deal breaker. Column shifters were prevalent on 1970s cars, I wonder if hand cranks will make a come back!

    • @krane15
      @krane15 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's because you don't know anything different. There were on the column before the transmission rise. They moved them to the floor on cheap cars. Very cheap cars.

      Thank you for your feedback, I admit it is a personal preference. For me, column shifter is a deal breaker. I am glad that there are options on the market to meet everyone's needs and preferences.

    The new Tiguan definitely is a hit on the looks; however, some great detail of the past Tiguans is missing. The felt lined door pockets of the German counterparts is missing and the recline rear seats with track moving feature is gone. These kind of features made the Tiguan a standout from the competition and will be sorely missed. In addition I would hope that VW has plans for true R model with more performance and driving engagement. A true R model would also give VW a standout option against the competition in this class and an alternative for consumers that want a premium compact SUV without going to an Audi, BMW, Mercedes or the likes there of. Overall it’s solid start particularly if it has the solid driving dynamics of its German counterparts.

    A column shifter? What's old is new again. I remember my first car as a teenager - a 1960s Chevy with "three in the tree".

    I don't like that OEMs don't feature driver & passenger grab handles mounted on the ceiling.
