As a fellow red hood fan id prefer if he wasnt in the game at all. Its not in Red Hoods character to be strictly non lethal thats what makes his character so unique amongst the bat family in the first place. Besides the ridiculous "mystical leap" mechanic having his bullets perice armour but not skin is stupid. Obviously it wouldnt make sense to make him lethal in this game because the other bat family members wouldnt allow it because no killing is there sacred doctrine🙄 Id prefer if they just give him his own game where he has free reign to kill like in his DLC from Arkham knight which was awsome it was a breath of fresh air to finally let loose and permantly rid gotham of scum

A lot just feels “off” about this game. And the devs being so secretive about it and lying about it dropping on ps4 but then taking it away last minute seems fishy af. Red flags EVERYWHERE.
The fact that developers delayed the game for a year and abandoned last gen should be celebrated by gamers. It means developers genuinely are passionate about making sure this game succeeds. Look at the quality of textures between the last trailer and the new trailer. Look at the animations between the new and the old trailer. Imagine putting in so much hardwork and people not even noticing the improvements. All game developers are secretive about their game because things are not finalized. Lets say developers reveal something and then they realise it is not a good design choice and then they scrap it but players will be disappointed that they removed a feature from the game they were promised. They get shafted no matter what they do. People are also angry at this game because it is not releasing early and was delayed for over an year but if this game had released sooner, people would have still hated for being in an unfinished state. So no matter what the developers do, they are the bad guys. A more reasonable person would realise that game development is a very complex process and on top of that there is the pandemic which is further complicating things so a game is bound to get delayed. If you would actually notice, you will notice that developers took the criticism of the first trailer to heart and actually made wide sweeping improvements
the studio isnt exactly popular among the fan base ether so all this is just a massive red flag i dang sure wont be upgrading to a next gen console for this this was a very stupid move already was iffy based on the trailer we seen but now im not even looking towards it and its not even the fact next gen being hard to find this game is just not looking good enough for me to even feel the need to upgrade even if they where available i still wouldn't drop $700 on a new console over this 🤷

They used a not so popular part of Jason's lore and twisted it to fit the game they've made and that's not a bad thing. I don't hate the leap. I do wish they would've used his gauntlets he's shown to have used to glide in the comics.
Yeah but his gameplay was missing that brutality that was in Arkham Knight. And I know that they are going down a non lethal role but they could still keep his brutal brawler style and have the guns compliment it. Maybe the play tester was just bad at the game and used the guns to much. That’s what I’m hoping.
The leap could have been cool, if you watched the anime world trigger there's this move called grasshopper. And yes it sounds corny as hell, but you could change the direction and chain multiple, it allows you to have amazing mobility in air
They could've use grapples for traversal, Ik they're tryna be comic accurate with nightwing glider but there's a reason why comic accuracy isn't always good💀
And the gameplay is so stiff the npcs aren't active at all they're just staring at u while you beat they partners, and jason todds move set...they could've not said he doesn't use lethal bullets becuz it doesn't change the fact of anything by saying that but ruining his characterization and the gears of war bomb move he did was not it especially the gameplay from the tester💀
If developers make things comic accurate then they are the bad guys. If they dont make things comic accurate then also they are the bad guys. It would be boring to traverse a huge open world with just grappling hooks. You should be able to cut across huge skyscrappers via some cool gadget especially in a superhero game.

The sound design accompanying the punches also sounds awesome. When Nightwing takes down an enemy, the classic arkham slow mo also feels good. When Nightwing took down an enemy stealthily, the way he gritted his teeth. So much detail on his facial expressions. The use of an electronic glider to go from point A to point B is a really smart traversal choice. I dont even mind the leaping ability of Red Hood because this game is going to have more mystical elements from the DC lore. Robin will also use a teleportation device to get from point A to B. I am so glad that they got rid of the damage numbers. The animations generally look better. The belfry homebase also looks cool. I want to see how batgirl gameplay feels like after all the improvements because I like batgirl the best after batman in the batfamily

For the traversal. Nightwing should have wing gliders in the suit, like he's got in the new Tom Taylor run. Red Hood should honestly be the one riding a Bat-Cycle or just a motorcycle. Batgirl should be the one gliding around with the cape. Robin is fine with teleporting, but maybe they could of done a wing suit like Falcon maybe.

They should’ve gave nightwing and red hood some kind of advance parkour like a hybrid of AC unity and insomniac Spider-Man. As for the grapple gun they could’ve done more with it instead of having it zip u up or have u swing from ledge in stealth sections but also have u swing through the city like in the canceled daredevil game from 2003.

The mystical leap can be an interesting way to traverse the city. In an open world game, there has to be a quick way to cut across huge buildings. A combination of grapple and mystical leaps sounds unique and interesting. The gameplay is what matters the most. As long as mystical leap is supported by lore, who cares?

At 4:00 with Red Hood chasing a duu in a truck, the graphics of that sequence low key reminded me of the mobile game version of Injustice 2.

Should've given Nightwing a wing suit like in Batman the animated series the caveat would be he can glide faster than Batgirl, but not for as long or as far as she can, and they should've given Red Hood the ability to parkour like assassin's creed and it's Gotham so you can design the buildings anyway you want to incorporate Parkour.
For characters that don't have capes. They could of had retractable wingsuits/gliders build into the the design of the suits. Sort like The Falcon in Marvel. But fitting the aesthetic of each character more. Not Ideal. But much better than what they did.

Rocksteady made the right call delaying it for next gen only and taking more time to work on it these guys WB Montreal canned last gen last minute looks worse then suicide squad and did not get delayed till next year to get extra time on top of that its by a studio that made origins a game that wasnt really all that liked to begin with if they think people are gonna even try to buy a next gen console even if there wasnt a chip shortage for this then they deserve the financial flop there about to take I hope this game is good dont get me wrong but a very small group of people are gonna buy it no one is gonna jump through the next gen hoop over this and that is really gonna hurt them big time only people who are gonna buy this will be people who bought from scalpers or where lucky enough to get a next gen console already and thats if they are even into this type of game to begin with 🤷
I will admit the traversal thing doesn’t bother me too much since I can always just choose not to use it and from what I can tell the grapple hooking does seem to have momentum behind it but it’s still frustrating

The only reason I am even thinking about getting this game is because of Red Hood. After seeing the Mythical Jump BS, I am already done with this. Not going to spend a dime unless they fix everything that's wrong with it, including that jump.
Alright, ideas time. Red Hood uses the grapnel gun like the Web-Slinging in Fortnite, enabling him to travel like Spider-Man but with more precision to it than the PS4 game. He can increase or decrease the length, or even just wind in like a traditional grapnel gun. He can also use it on the back of cars to gain momentum. Have it even be a part of his guns, so he can aim and shoot at someone, then grapple towards them. Nightwing is canonically a master acrobat. Let him wall run, give him the biggest jump, and give him a wing-suit ala Just Cause 3 that can be deployed almost instantly, and retracted instantly to catch himself on a wall. He can build up speed like nobody’s business, but also requires good timing to effectively utilize his toolkit. Same with Red Hood. Essentially, Batgirl is the entry-level character, most similar to the Arkham games. Robin is similar, but with the teleporting to add some flavor. Red Hood and Nightwing are more mechanically complex.

Even the gameplay for the red hood dlc in arkham knight looks way more impressive than in this full-fleged game where he is one of the main characters.
I think they should have given Nightwing a parkour type of way on getting around the city, and with red hood, I believe it would be the same thing, or a grappling hook
2014 since a Batman game has been released, Gotham Knights the closest thing we have to a Batman game, and the game that made in 2014 Looks Way smoother, has a better traversal and did the bat family way better and made them look white cleaner than Gotham Knights ever can, rocksteady are rolling in the floor rn

Yeah in a superhero video game where grown men fight crime in tights, using a glider is goofy🤦. It is a fun gameplay mechanic. Who cares if its also used in Fortnite? It doesnt have to feel or control like fortnite.

the patrolling methods seems so cheap and needless to me. i feel like they tried too hard to give everyone something unique. but my the biggest lost for me was how we cannot parry the attacks. just dodging is not enough. i hated when this happened in spider-man and guardians of the galaxy and i will hate in this game as well
You know, I believe that in some comics (I sadly don't know what they are and would like to find out) Red Hood had the abilities to summon weapons from hell such as swords and daggers (I think). They could've possibly used this to make a sort of vehicle from hell.

I wasn’t expecting much from this game and I was gonna main Nightwing but it got me hella hesitant now. The minute I saw Nightwing pull out the Fortnite glider I knew, that they didn’t know what to do for Nightwing and Red Hood. Also Nightwing is the only one for me that actually has a good design. Easily the worst is Batgirls design too with those damn bat ears on top of her hair just look goofy to me
They shouldve made it more about parkore with lines to glide across and a grapple for far jumps and then some tech that allows them to climb walls. wouldve been awesome
Looking at this I am genuinely disappointed, Arkham Knight and such looks alot better visually and gameplay wise than they did here, I hope they manage to fix any kinks there are with this game before the release and make it look smoother.

@@Revolverfoxx I assume that you're thinking of on Red Hood's traversal method when you say this. He has had crazier traversal methods in the comics. The large gauntlet fins that he's used as a great example of this.
Funny enough Nightwing is shown in the DCAU to have wings similar to what Tom Hollands Spider-Man uses in the Stark Suit so it makes no sense they didn't give armpit wings to Dick when an iteration of him from the 90s uses them to glide

The fact that developers delayed the game for a year and abandoned last gen should be celebrated by gamers. It means developers genuinely are passionate about making sure this game succeeds. Look at the quality of textures between the last trailer and the new trailer. Look at the animations between the new and the old trailer. Imagine putting in so much hardwork and people not even noticing the improvements. All game developers are secretive about their game because things are not finalized. Lets say developers reveal something and then they realise it is not a good design choice and then they scrap it but players will be disappointed that they removed a feature from the game they were promised. They get shafted no matter what they do. People are also angry at this game because it is not releasing early and was delayed for over an year but if this game had released sooner, people would have still hated for being in an unfinished state. So no matter what the developers do, they are the bad guys. A more reasonable person would realise that game development is a very complex process and on top of that there is the pandemic which is further complicating things so a game is bound to get delayed. If you would actually notice, you will notice that developers took the criticism of the first trailer to heart and actually made wide sweeping improvements

They used a not so popular part of Jason's lore and twisted it to fit the game they've made and that's not a bad thing. I don't hate the leap. I do wish they would've used his gauntlets he's shown to have used to glide in the comics.
Yeah but his gameplay was missing that brutality that was in Arkham Knight. And I know that they are going down a non lethal role but they could still keep his brutal brawler style and have the guns compliment it. The leap could have been cool, if you watched the anime world trigger there's this move called grasshopper. And yes it sounds corny as hell, but you could change the direction and chain multiple, it allows you to have amazing mobility in air
They could've use grapples for traversal, Ik they're tryna be comic accurate with nightwing glider but there's a reason why comic accuracy isn't always good💀
And the gameplay is so stiff the npcs aren't active at all they're just staring at u while you beat they partners, and jason todds move set...they could've not said he doesn't use lethal bullets becuz it doesn't change the fact of anything by saying that but ruining his characterization and the gears of war bomb move he did was not it especially the gameplay from the tester💀
If developers make things comic accurate then they are the bad guys. If they dont make things comic accurate then also they are the bad guys. It would be boring to traverse a huge open world with just grappling hooks. You should be able to cut across huge skyscrappers via some cool gadget especially in a superhero game.

The sound design accompanying the punches also sounds awesome. When Nightwing takes down an enemy, the classic arkham slow mo also feels good. The use of an electronic glider to go from point A to point B is a really smart traversal choice. I dont even mind the leaping ability of Red Hood because this game is going to have more mystical elements from the DC lore. Robin will also use a teleportation device to get from point A to B. I am so glad that they got rid of the damage numbers. The animations generally look better. The belfry homebase also looks cool. I want to see how batgirl gameplay feels like after all the improvements because I like batgirl the best after batman in the batfamily

For the traversal.
Nightwing should have wing gliders in the suit, like he's got in the new Tom Taylor run.
Red Hood should honestly be the one riding a Bat-Cycle or just a motorcycle.
Batgirl should be the one gliding around with the cape.
Robin is fine with teleporting, but maybe they could of done a wing suit like Falcon maybe.

The mystical leap can be an interesting way to traverse the city. In an open world game, there has to be a quick way to cut across huge buildings. A combination of grapple and mystical leaps sounds unique and interesting. The gameplay is what matters the most. As long as mystical leap is supported by lore, who cares?

Gotham Knights’s version of Red Hood looks like he just got out of parole 😂🤣 That “Mystical Leap” ability of Red Hood got him lookin like he’s on some Doctor Strange type shit. At 4:00 with Red Hood chasing a duu in a truck, the graphics of that sequence low key reminded me of the mobile game version of Injustice 2.

There's just so many odd things. Avengers style combat, only sidekicks, only 2 player, it appears to be a sequel to Knight but isn't, and not to mention rocksteady is already making a game like this.
How exactly does it appear to be a sequel to knight? They've specifically said it's not in the same universe. The combat on avengers was the one good thing going for it. Nightwing isn't a sidekick, red hood isn't a sidekick, and Batgirl is more of a partner. Even if they were "sidekicks" wats the problem wit that? I don't understand y ppl are complaining about Batman not being there when you can play as Batman in tons of other games. Literally spider man and Batman get games quite often. Give other characters a chance to shine. As far as only 2 player, mechanically speaking I think that's the best thing to do. Not saying 4 player is impossible tho.

Should've given Nightwing a wing suit like in Batman the animated series the caveat would be he can glide faster than Batgirl, but not for as long or as far as she can, and they should've given Red Hood the ability to parkour like assassin's creed and it's Gotham so you can design the buildings anyway you want to incorporate Parkour.
For characters that don't have capes. They could of had retractable wingsuits/gliders build into the the design of the suits. Sort like The Falcon in Marvel. But fitting the aesthetic of each character more. Not Ideal. But much better than what they did.

Alright, ideas time. Red Hood uses the grapnel gun like the Web-Slinging in Fortnite, enabling him to travel like Spider-Man but with more precision to it than the PS4 game. He can increase or decrease the length, or even just wind in like a traditional grapnel gun. He can also use it on the back of cars to gain momentum. Have it even be a part of his guns, so he can aim and shoot at someone, then grapple towards them.
Nightwing is canonically a master acrobat. Let him wall run, give him the biggest jump, and give him a wing-suit ala Just Cause 3 that can be deployed almost instantly, and retracted instantly to catch himself on a wall. He can build up speed like nobody’s business, but also requires good timing to effectively utilize his toolkit. Same with Red Hood. Essentially, Batgirl is the entry-level character, most similar to the Arkham games. Robin is similar, but with the teleporting to add some flavor. Red Hood and Nightwing are more mechanically complex.

Even the gameplay for the red hood dlc in arkham knight looks way more impressive than in this full-fleged game where he is one of the main characters.
I think they should have given Nightwing a parkour type of way on getting around the city, and with red hood, I believe it would be the same thing, or a grappling hook

I am genuinely excited for Gotham Knights. I wasnt feeling this game when the first trailer dropped and I still think the first trailer looks god awful in terms of both graphics and gameplay but the developers really took those criticisms to heart and have made a wide range of sweeping improvements. The graphics look very good so much so that they had to skip the last gen entirely. I mean the detail on Nightwings suit. The water on the rooftops looks real. All the smoke effects and sparkles and the fire effects look awesome. The Gotham City is huge but detailed at the same time. And the gameplay looks much much much better compared to the first trailer. In the first trailer, I couldnt even make out the animations and the cape physics looked inferior to Arkham City but I can make out every move that Nightwing made in the 2nd trailer. The way he ping pongs between enemies using his acrobatic moves. Jumping around flipping between one enemy to another. The punches seem like they have weight behind them. The sound design accompanying the punches also sounds awesome. When Nightwing takes down an enemy, the classic arkham slow mo also feels good. When Nightwing took down an enemy stealthily, the way he gritted his teeth. So much detail on his facial expressions. The use of an electronic glider to go from point A to point B is a really smart traversal choice. I dont even mind the leaping ability of Red Hood because this game is going to have more mystical elements from the DC lore. Robin will also use a teleportation device to get from point A to B. Yeah in a superhero video game where grown men fight crime in tights, using a glider is goofy🤦. It is a fun gameplay mechanic. Who cares if its also used in Fortnite? It doesnt have to feel or control like fortnite.
The mystical leap can be an interesting way to traverse the city. In an open world game, there has to be a quick way to cut across huge buildings. A combination of grapple and mystical leaps sounds unique and interesting. The gameplay is what matters the most. As long as mystical leap is supported by lore, who cares?

You know, I believe that in some comics (I sadly don't know what they are and would like to find out) Red Hood had the abilities to summon weapons from hell such as swords and daggers (I think). They could've possibly used this to make a sort of vehicle from hell.

I wasn’t expecting much from this game and I was gonna main Nightwing but it got me hella hesitant now. The minute I saw Nightwing pull out the Fortnite glider I knew, that they didn’t know what to do for Nightwing and Red Hood.
Also Nightwing is the only one for me that actually has a good design. Easily the worst is Batgirls design too with those damn bat ears on top of her hair just look goofy to me

Funny enough Nightwing is shown in the DCAU to have wings similar to what Tom Hollands Spider-Man uses in the Stark Suit so it makes no sense they didn't give armpit wings to Dick when an iteration of him from the 90s uses them to glide
