    This is Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Bros doing a live performance on the Andy Williams show there was no do overs just his amazing voice and a small microphone. Bobby,'s performance was effortless, smooth and sheer perfection no one will ever do this song like Bobby. HE OWNS THIS SONG. I loved Elvis but on this performance Bobby has him beat.Many before and after him have done this song but never on his level. This is a vocal masterclass... Bobby Hatfield is arguably the greatest male vocalist of all time... He had it all, the looks, the voice, and effortlessly cool... Aspiring singers should watch this performance because there was no auto tuning, no cues, nothing but raw talent... Not even Elvis could sing like this... The only other person with a voice of an angel was Karen Carpenter.... Never will we hear vocals like this again. This is a fluke of nature that only ever happens once... Listening to this song is a privilege... PERFECTION 👌

  • @mourlyvold7655
    @mourlyvold7655 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Funny how most people seem to be focused on his high notes. They are impressive, no doubt. And he has a great way of using his skills to tastefully "phrase" through the melodies. What gets me most about his sound though, is the amount of air he allows through his tones, the "breathy" quality of his voice. I guess it's natural for the greater part but he controls it beautifully. This sound manifests itself most in slightly lower registers. And I love it! I won't pretend I can speak for the female part of the audience but I suspect that character in his voice plays a considerable role in in their notable "admiration", if you know what I mean :) The effect of it can be witnessed in their reaction videos...

      @@thevoiceofthelordpastorkei7165 This was LIVE, and his parents were in the audience. Bobby suffered for his entire career from severe stage fright, and with his parents in the audience, it made it that much harder, and it was just him and the microphone, no digital embellishments at all. Very few tenors before or since could match his range and impeccable control. He was a huge part of the reason that he along with Bill Medley, AKA, the Righteous Bros, were euphemistically called Blue-Eyed Soul singers.

I was a freshman, and I realized that if this was one of the perks of going to college, I was definitely gonna do whatever it took to stay there. Later on, I found out _anyone_ could buy a ticket. If you guys are familiar with voice changers, auto-tune is like that. It's a way to sound like a good singer w/o the talent and work put into your voice. You can sound like nails on a chalkboard in real life, but if you put the audio of you singing through auto-tune, it magically makes you sound amazing like Bobby Hatfield. It's a real problem with some "singers" now days. Some can actually sing, while others need auto-tune to fix their voices. Sometimes you can't even tell who's the real deal now.

    If you are new to the Righteous Brothers, your first reaction should really be to both "brothers" (they weren't actually related) as a duo, then move on to them as soloists. They typically did one solo each per album and this was a solo for Bobby Hatfield. Please react to You've Lost That Loving Feeling, which was THE most played song on American radio and television in the 20th century (yes, played more than any Beatles song, any Elvis song, any Motown song, etc.). It was also featured in the movie Top Gun and the TV show Cheers. Here is the link to react to: th-cam.com/video/uOnYY9Mw2Fg/w-d-xo.html

      @lesliegeddies7896 I agree with you about Bobby being relegated to the chorus. But he certainly made the most of his turns to sing! Especially during the,"Call and Response", portion of the song! He was even imitating Bill when they sang" I need your love"back and forth! I thought that was hilarious! But it's a great song and Bobby seemed to become comfortable with his role in it and enjoy it later on.

      Sir Dabs a Lot REACTS I subscribe to several people especially once I get to see them react and be committed with a good amount of 60’s and 70’s music. Technically 80’s is my generation and there is a decent amount of stuff I like there but really like 60’s and 70’s. I hear music you listen to from age of 10-20 leaves a footprint on you and will always be your favorite 🤷‍♂️. Righteous brothers i was just a toddler but I was listening to lots of 60’s stuff in high school, The Who, LED Zeppelin, Beatles.
