Haven't worshipped the devil recently! 1974. I wasn't listening to rock at all. Jazz and folk were mostly where I was at. Metal, thrash etc...I was never into. The harder it got the more twee I went. Always a contrarion...that's me!
Thanks mate 👍John Peel said it the best about The Fall "Always different, always the same". They are a very particular thing & I agree you're either into 'em or you aren't. Garage Days is the best thing 'tallica did and I reckon because it's all covers. I love the early Sabs too. I like Slayer the album after Tom stopped singing the Rob Halford style high bits. So I think that would be Reign In Blood. I also agree that brevity is the key. Under 30mins is perfect for thrash. Slayer had that down early on. Voivod I will make an effort to check out just for you. Ok Stack Woddy it is👍The first Dr Feelgood is a great pub rock album imho. I love it when The Saints come up in a vid. I got my tix for the November shows. Will be interesting because Ed's put together a crackin' band. I got to see two shows when they last got together when Chris was still alive. Great shows but Chris's Mike should've been turned off between songs. That would've been annoying hearing that shit even faster on your mates dodgy turntable. Good waffle 👍
Great comments Ben! I can still dig VOIVOD after all these years....they are/were unique.....snotty brats on the first 2 albums and them morphing into SCI FI "prog".....they have always been the critics darlings and rightly so IMO......FRENCH CANADIANS RULE!
