- Hi Everyone! In today's video we're talking about the BEST & WORST primers for glass skin! I asked you all what "glass skin" primers you'd like me to try, so I am going to be comparing seven different primers for you guys today! I really like the Essence Fresh & Fit Awake primer for glowy and almost glassy skin look under my light coverage foundation.
I haven't tried that one (obviously) but now I'm interested ;)
Love this primer!!! I also like their pink color corrector concealer for under my eyes! I often just use their brow gel, lash princess, that primer, pink concealer, and a lip balm!!!
I think it has toooo much shimmer particles, and it's very noticeable 😕

I mix the Futuredew directly with my foundation and make it kind of a one-step-does-everything, and I like this method the best for me. It gives me full glass dew effect and blurs my pores in a way it doesn’t when I apply the FD first and foundation second.
I agree with Glossier Futuredew ♥️👍! I absolutely adore this product!🥰 I myself have dry to normal skin,especially during the hot season I don't really want to wear anything heavy, so I stick with sunscreen and this product! 🥰!!👍

I received a sample for the future few and for some reason it has a horrible smell to it. But I also heard that the sample and the product are different. Does it really have a weird smell to it?

Thank you for being so comprehensive in your reviews!! Do you feel like these interact with sunscreen at all (if you wear it), especially the VDL primer? I really love the concept of a glowy primer but it feels like it might have trouble fitting into my routine :((

This is a fabulous resource! I'm not looking for glass skin per se, but at 57 my skin is becoming quite dull and lackluster for the first time in my life so I thought using a 'glass' product might help with that. Thank you so much! 💖🇨🇦

This really made me wanna try the glossier future dew lol! I have the Linda Halberg infinity glass, which is a multiuse product that says it can be a primer, eye and lip gloss, and highlighter, but I mostly use it as a stay in place gloss. I wonder how you'd feel about it in terms of its multitasking properties!

I'm a new subscriber and have been binging your videos. This is seriously such a well done, thought out video. I imagine it took a long time and a lot of work. But seriously thank you! It is so helpful.
The most true glass skin looking things Ive found are the Touch in Sol Pretty Filter Glassy Skin Balm, (ulta, $35- ish ) and the Maybelline Glass Spray I found at Target, which really surprised me that it worked, they weren't kidding.... And alot of products say glassy but really just give a dewy effect, these two are different, try them out and you'll see... Great recommendations, I was looking at the Laneige you mentioned the other day, might have to pick that up, thanks!! :)

I really like the glossier future dew & the cover f/x dewy primer. I purchased the cover f/x primer during the Ulta sale, so it was 50% off. I tried the VDL primer in a sample and it had a scent that I didn’t like. Perhaps they have an unscented version.
I feel like the Revlon Rose Glow Primer looks and (based off your description) seems like a dupe for the Laneige Glowy Makeup Serum. On a side note, I completely agree about what you said about gripping primers, I was really interested in the MILK Makeup Hydro Grip, but when I looked at the ingredients I was pretty surprised to find that Alcohol was like the 3rd ingredient or something like that.
Can you make a video on how to achieve dewy skin if you have a lot of skin texture. I've stopped wearing glittery highlighters to reduce the emphasis of the texture but it tends to look pretty bad
The #1 tip i would have is to apply one of these dewy primers under a more "airbrush" foundation. Airbrush foundations tend to be more matte- but if you use one of these more dewy foundations under it, your makeup will look fresher and dewier! I would specifically recommend something like the glossier future dew or the coverfx dewy skin for this look

I have really dry skin and Cover FX dewy skin primer changed my life! Primers I would use before would have my face so dry after couple of hours of applied foundation.
Futuredew is 🙌 superior. I mix one pump with the priming moisturizer and on days where I don’t put on complexion products I literally don’t even need highlight bc it’s so glowy all day. Definitely a favorite
I didn't check Nyx's other products countries but high glass made in South Korea. So my guess is that increase the price.

Laneage, imho, is safest for healthy skin care. Pricey tho. TY for a great video.

Does the glossier one stay glossy all day? I usually notice glowy items dry up on my skin and lose their glow

Can you test out the makeup revolution glass liquid skin serum vs they're superdew serum. And see which is better, and more like the glossier futuredew. I want something like the futuredew but don't want to spend $24 if I don't have to.
I'm waiting for my Laneige and Glossier dewy products for months! they're stuck until borders open here :( . Also I've ordered the Chanel rosy drops for me and the le beige illuminating primer for my mom (both launched at the same time almost). The NYX one looks similar to the CT flawless filter!

Using Drunk Elephant C-Firma gives me a glassy skin but I don’t appreciate that it’s so sticky🥺However, some people enjoying the latter since their foundation adheres better.
Have you tried the glass filter from linda hallberg ? It has the strangest texture but it’s so glossy !

I really love the sound of the Futuredew but squalane really irritates my skin and I get full blown contact dermatitis on my eyelids :'(
hi 🙋♀️ I have a very dry dull skin and mature skin actually I’m over 40. I have tried supposedly radiant foundations dewy primers and I’m still not content 🤦🏼♀️ which one do u think is the most most glassy dewy ? the glossier future dew or the Revolution ? i’m not as worried about it gripping my foundation because I don’t have oily skin at all like not a drop of oil LOL and my foundation stays and I don’t wear heavy foundations anyway. I know there’s like a $10 difference but I don’t know both you said were very glassy so I’m a little confused . I know that we don’t have the same skin but from your opinion which one do you think is the most most shiny and Dewey & glassy ? thank you 😊 very good video very detailed awesome 🥳

Do you have any issues applying these on top of mineral sunscreens? I'm currently using the I'm Pure Cica Suncream and it is not playing well with liquid products. I'm normally a brush girl but I'm even trying to use a damp sponge.
I honestly have been using a chemical sunscreen but I can't imagine these would have issues with one as long as it isn't super thick!

Swiping your sponge vs bouncing will get you a more sheer finish with face products, or with primers will help them glide on more quickly! Try it out you might be surprised and enjoy it :)
@@AmandaZ I have tried🥲 It just drags product around my face, especially when you get to the stage of contour etc! I definitely get a better finish by dabbing instead but everyone does it differently

Vdl Primer is good for cool skintone. Vdl Primer Fresh is good for warm skintone
I just looked up the Glossier future dew, and it says to apply this after sunscreen, but seeing that it has so much oil in it, I’m afraid it would break down my sunscreen. Do you apply it before or after sunscreen?
I either use it as a moisturizer (or over a moisturizer) with sunscreen on top or I will let my sunscreen sink into my skin for 15 min and then apply over! The dew will shine through anything you put over it!
Love this! I would love to know what you think the best glowy bronzers are...kosas..laura mercier matte radiance...wet n wild...too faced sweetheart....cover fx...i have been craving a glowy bronzer. I have a feeling they will be more popular soon.

I really enjoyed this video! I appreciate that you included an affordable product. Has anyone tried the becca first light priming filter? It's purple and I guess it's supposed to give you a brightening glowy effect and was curious if it's hydrating!

I will do both! Sometimes I just use future dew as a moisturizer and then put sunscreen over it (you still get a ton of dew) or I will use this over my sunscreen as a primer

I like touch in sol’s priming water for super glowy skin. It also blurs my pores decently and is my favorite to use underneath my under eye concealer.
oooh I like a primer that works under a concealer!! Especially because my eyes are quite dry
This helped me with a direction for a dewy face look! I’m usually scared to try things due to my combo skin but I went for it and ‘shopped with you’ for some glossier products!
Was the VDL lavender? That’s the original cult one. I just got confused when you said it was white. There’s different versions now.
This is the lumilayer primer- it is def more on the icy white side. There seem to be different versions
Thanks for giving your thoughts on the cover fx primers. I’ll have to try the dewy skin one. Interestingly, Dr. Dray said that the gripping one is a good moisturizer based on reading the ingredients alone. She was doing an overview of the Ulta 21 days of beauty. I was thinking wait a minute, that stuff is not for everyone! It’s thick and sticky like lip gloss! I love it, though. I think it gives my skin a great shine. I wear it under Lancôme Skin Feels Good, and I mix in Kevin Aucoin Glass Glow Face, which is another one to try!
Ah yes! If I used that as a moisturizer my skin would be mad at me... but the dewy skin is refreshing! I liked the glass glow from KA pretty similar to the revolution but a little thinner!!
How would you compare Revolution one with glossier?
I am wishing my skin was drier now. It has changed from dry to more normal/oily in the last few months. My skin looks too glossy without any primers so not sure I will try these but still love your reviews.

Glossier description on their website does NOT say that it is a primer at all. Just a serum. I’m also surprised it says to apply it AFTER your SPF, when it should be before. SPF should always be last during the day.
hi! i have a graduation pictorial coming in two months, i wanna prep everything early so i could save up, from all of these primers used what is/are the most flash-friendly? was eye-ing on the futuredew, does pearlized primers cause flashback? what can you advice me for flashback makeup yt channels say to have matte products and stay away with spf and silica powders and concealers, but i also still want to get that dewy skin on the picture. so sorry for asking a lot, thanks I’m enjoying the vid! I love how you give a closer swatch or try on haha i forgot what it’s called ❤️
Would you do a review on more new cream bronzers, like maybe the new reformulated Chanel one, the tarte one, The new reformulated coverfx liquid one, and the kaja one. I have tried sooooo hard to find reviews on them from other influencers but they will just smack it on their face and quickly either say i like it or I don’t like it without any explanation. I love how in depth you are in your reviews which is why I only trust your opinion lol

Hey Amanda! I myself really love the formulation and the instant glow that I get from Glossier's Futuredew but unfortunately, as I have dry skin which tends to become super oily in some time, my skin literally eats up the Future dew and it lasts for hardly 10-15 mins. Any suggestions on how to prolong the glossy/dewy effect of the Futuredew without making it over the top shiny?
hey sorry I am just seeing this!! I would recommend just using it in the areas you want a little more dew- tops of the cheek bones, bridge of the nose, etc. And use a beauty blender to massage it in!
