This horse is loving the attention, he's just walking up to everyone, saying, "hello fans, lovely to meet you, give me a pat and move on, give everyone a chance to bask in my glory". lol much Love Blessings and Peace
What an absolutely charismatic, sweet horse. So friendly; speaks volumes about how the horses must be cared for to be that lovely and sociable. Gorgeous creature. 💖💖💖
I think this horse is a young one and very gentle and loves the attention. This guard deliberately takes him from side to side so the loopies can get pictures and moves him towards the kids so they can pet him. He wouldn't do that if it was a problem. Besides that, it probably keeps the horse warm! This guard also doesn't stand for nonsense. I also think people are just very excited to see what they mostly see on postcards and its probably their one and only time in London!
@blufifi - The guard is not moving the horse from side to side. He is allowing the horse to do that. The horse is the one who is making sure to greet his visitors on both sides. Sweet horse.
It’s so obvious that more and more rude tourists are like rude children. The guards should be firm with these overgrown children. No taking over the horse
This guard allowed the horse to greet the people. What an amazing video. The guard did a wonderful job allowong the horse to greet the people!!!!!! It must be hard for a horse to stand in one place for extended time and having someone sit on his back!!!!!
This is such a lovely friendly horse with a beautiful temperament. The trooper was very tolerant with the public and displayed professionalism. How lucky we are to Witness these treasures…and be allowed to get so close.😎
Being that I have had horses all my life, I would say this is a young inquisitive, curious horse that hasn't been tainted by the constant crowds yet. Given some time, even with his lovely personality, he might become as Arnie, Ormonde and Indigo. No one wants to be constantly mauled.
I agree! But I honestly believe that the young mounted Horseman is also not helping by allowing the horse to have too much of a free rain. For a mounted serviceman, he was sitting the horse far too freely.
You do not sound like you had horses all your life. Your last sentence ...."constantly mauled"! The Horse is the one constantly mauled .....geeez! It is the humans that are constantly mauling!!! Oh,, and I have had horses all my life. So What!

The mixed messages being received by the public lead some to see this as a royal petting zoo, and others to be offended at what they consider to be a breach of protocol in the very formal and regimented presentation of the King’s guard.
@tonicaron7585 Why don't they just make a new rule that tourists are not allowed to TOUCH the horses. Just looking should be enough. The patting from so many strangers must stress some of the horses even if not this one. As long as the tourists see other tourists patting a horse close up they think it is a petting zoo and so it goes on.
What an amazing sweet baby luving on everyone. Thanks to the guard for being aware of the nature of his horse. The people were losing there minds. luv it 💓
This petting zoo nonsense has to stop! It’s becoming a bloody circus. It’s not fair to the horse or the unfortunate Kings Guard. Look at the constant stress he is under watching for idiots overstepping boundaries and touching reins. Take a look at 18:08. These ungrateful thankless tourists have put heavy burden on him.
As one of the Guards once told a tourist with your attitude, His horse, his rules. That is why they are out there. If they don't feel like it do to the horsembeing a danger they will keep the people back. If you don't like it, you don't have to watch!
This is definitely a sweetheart giving everyone gentle attention. The Kings Guard has so much patience to put up with the crowd even if the horse is tolerant of all of the tourists.
OK, so .. this is not a petting zoo, BUT ... this horse is very sociable and is clearly happy to meet and greet the tourists. It's a hard enough job standing in a box for hours on end, so if the horse and the guard are both OK, then let it be. ❤
The horses are not on duty for hours and hours..ONE HOUR ONLY, THEN CHANGE OVER.. I suppose it's an easy mistake if you don't watch it as often as I do, but I'm 84 now and cannot visit these places any more, so I watch hours of Horse Guards on You Tube and I've learned a great deal, of trivia. Most enjoyable... These Guards are very brave young men and women... I've just watched a documentary on one of the women guards so was training to pass an exam on driving an Ajax Tank. Yes she passed a real grilling exam. I believe it was filmed on Salisbury Plain.. best wishes
What nightmare for the guard. Its not a petting zoo . Horse and guard are on duty. Regardless of how the horse is reacting he could change in a whim and bite.

The stupidity and arrogance from some tourists are ridiculous. When the they open up Horse Guards after Christmas (or whenever it is fixed) They need to put forth a no tolerance policy and yell at the miscreant tourists.
the lady signing was so excited to engage with the horse, who seemed to be having a ball - great interaction with the many kids, and nice to see quite a few of the adults also ask before touching the horse - treating hte guardsman as a person, not just a photo op. Why some people still have to be rude and grabby is beyond me - this was already a very sociable morning, dont deastroy it by taking gross liberties with someone else's horse!
Aw this guard is very sweetly bringing his horse out of the box and letting him be playful. Even guiding him up to the nervous, curious kids. Brilliant, handsome young man. Doing the Guards proud!
I wonder what these horse soldier's actually think........ Like...."here we go again" or, "get off my nose!".......or, " gosh, you smell" ......or ""how much longer do I have to suffer these silly lot?"......or when they hear that bell dinging, " that's it, I am done for today, now bugger off"...... my respect for their patience and our wonderful soldiers. i have watched afew of these videos now, I would say this is the chillest guard out of most of them, letting everyone pat the horse. he's very young also, so he's most likely passed out from training in 2023.
I hope no one tries to do “things” at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in London. They certainly wouldn’t like the consequences. But these guards and what they are guarding are not comparable. No horses at Arlington, either.
The Guard and Horse work very well together pushing the Africans into the correct place and others too , I loved seeing them work together like that .wonderful job guys. ❤❤
It may be a young horse so letting him be friendly keeps the stress level down and gives the horse a good experience. I think this is the sane Guard that had Indigo the other day and that horse bites everyone. Less stress for the Guard to have a friendly horse.
Would these people approach someone walking their dog on the street and grab the leash? What a lovely, delightful horse! Very sweet-natured. He needs Arnie to give him a few pointers on handling rude tourists.
Tolle Leistung von Pferd und Reiter. Es könnte aber ins Auge gehen! Die touris sollten sich der Gefahr ins Gedächtnis rufen und wenigstens ein thanks dem Reiter zurufen. Auch er hats nicht einfach. Nochmal tolle Leistung.
