This is 100% not only you. The game is definitely already on the whale hunt path. They started to treat low spenders and F2P players really bad ever since Vincent came out and he dropped on a Limit Break banner for no reason other than trying to get on peoples wallets by taking advantage of the FOMO. Free stuff like outfits and great amounts of blue crystals have definitely become more rare over the time. They can't even bother to give us Cloud's recolor outfit for free. Instead they drip feed us chances to get the medals needed for the outfit and make the odds to get enough of them extremely low so that 99% of players will have to buy a pack to get the needed amount in the end. I find tactics like these to be insanely scummy and the fact that things like these don't spark a bigger uproar makes me sad. We need to speak up about stuff like this. Thank you for the video. Even outside of the limited weapons they have a big issue with costume FOMO as well. You mentioned the Murasame garb in this video for instance and it's a perfect example, a lot of players missed that launch banner and if you didn't choose it as your costume for the 1st Anniversary exchange voucher, you're completely locked out of it. They have the gear voucher exchange system but it's never been updated to include older costumes from non-limited banners, which is a real shame and just makes it that much harder for a newer player to catch up.
I think you're right they'll ramp up the limited banners. But ppl also need to learn to get over the fomo and simply skip the limited banners. For example, these ones. A must-haves at first site, until you realise a few things: Tifa: yeah, 6 arcanums in one until you realise that the only modern DPS weapon she has is fire mag and the rest are either old, limited or non-existant. And there's no way of knowing what she gets from elemental weapons in the future or when. Aerith: yeah, healing potency+20%, which is essentially a healing arcanum, however Reprieve works well on Vincent bc he is DPS so he can pull out last ditch damage to finish off that last sliver of HP on the boss when he's the last man standing or you can give him less defense and more damage in the backend without him being at risk of dying. Reprieve is arguably less useful, or at least much more niche on a healer like Aerith. Which leaves Aerith weapon as one of the Kamura-like weapons as the only must pull, and support weapons don't necessarily need high OB to be effective. Imo these, while having helpful stuff, are really bait to rob us off crystals before the half Anni.
I'm a spender. But only putting THREE guaranteed copies is outrageous and the first time I really felt upset about spending. On a normal single character limited banner, you'd get 4 guaranteed weapon copies. So if Tifa and Aerith had their own banners, that's 8 guarantee copies. Going from 8 down to 3 means applibot wants those spenders to spend even more than they are willing to get the same standard that we've been living with
Limited banners wouldn't be an issue if limit break weapons still appeared in the wishlist of future limit break banners. It sounded like they were going to do that originally and they never did.
After the anniversary limit break banners first came out and I saw so many people say they’re just going to hold crystals and not pull for anything but 6/12 month anniversaries, I knew that the rate of limited banners would start to ramp up drastically by the time we hit 1 year. The game is built around making you pull and people not pulling makes them introduce more limited banners to force their hand with fomo. I do think they could’ve alleviated that a bit by throwing in more limid break rerun banners instead like the one that we’ve had so far which would also incentivize more people to pull lightly on an intro limited banner knowing they can pick up more dupes a month or 2 down the line.
I had a very unhealthy relationship with this game and i could see where things were headed. I was in F2p academy basically part of the number one guild and right on the eve of the 1st anniversary i just deleted the game . I didn’t tell my fellow members and i literally deleted discord and reddit along with ever crisis because playing at that level combined with the extreme amount of banners that was being pushed on us i had to cut out the cancer and move on wotg my life . As much as i loved this game i got the feeling the devs didn’t share that same passion and it was all about the money which was really distorting my way pf thinking which is a shame but i am glad i got out when i did and i wish my ex guild all the best i do miss our discord but i had to do what was best for me .
The weirdest thing with Cloud's costume is the opportunity cost. 30 medals for its costume ticket, but you could instead use those 30 medals on 10 guaranteed 5* for any character of choice. I feel like I'd get more use outta 10 random Angeal weapons than I would this costume.

applibot went from having a finger in peoples pockets to slowly being elbow deep. the craziest shit is their packs for crystals are outrageously priced in comparison to other games. 70$ for 10k red + 5k blue for 5 pulls to only get 1 stamps on the banner is crazy work and i get that the game is pretty generous but not enough to warrant running so many limited banners on top of new regular banners every week/or two with costumes that have arcanums. Limited banners should be for crossovers only. love the game its just all a bit exhausting.
This card was a bit of weird one. I really like Tifas Garb and weapon. I've gone to page two but I had to spend a little to get there I bought the two big weapon part packs. I do this now and then I'm ok with spending a couple hundred each year based on the time I sink into the game (my $ to hour ratio is nothing when compared to a single player game) . That said at the end of card 2 I only have Tifas weapon OB6 and only saw aeriths drop once (3 star) so how they expected us to be able to get both is crazy. I can see and feel applibot are gradually starting to suck players into the spending zone, my stamina horde is depleting rapdily and my behaviours have not changed. The amount of weapon parts is reducing and the frequency of free tickets has gone done also. That being said the game is still generous but not so much.
agree with pretty much all of this, the only thing i would note is that for FTP/low spenders, non-limited banners don’t really help us much more than the limiteds, because it takes so long to wishlist a weapon to viability that by the time you do, there’s new and better weapons to wishlist.
Actually they should slowdown about half / year anni stuff so people will not just holding for that. They need to know which they want to build / play with instead just hold / pulling for anni stuffs. Just my opinion 😄
I stopped spending around the 2k mark due to how often the gear has been limited. I'm not lucky enough to bother spending anymore and these new ones have even less guaranteed slots so that trend is going to continue with me
There's been such a focus on limited banners that tickets are almost useless to me at this point after having played from the start. Have no reason to buy stuff from the cash shop because of how often tickets just give weapons I'm already pushing through +1 and up.
Same feeling here, I really hate limited banners. If you get screwed with RNG there is no fixing by wishlisting or use weapon voucher in future. I would be so happy if this wasn’t limited but now I’m holding off.
Yea they screwed the heck out of me on the sheet I've been only pulling 1s back to back I didn't even think it was possible to pull all 1s on a sheet back to back and here I am on the new one pulling 1s again they need to fix the dumb sheet.
You get it from new year medals, these can be got from 2 ways at the moment. Purchases with real money in the shop or 2 lottery boxes you get from doing the new year campaign missions (in the missions section near your normal daily missions for crystals) but you only get 2 of them and it's random how many you get. Getting it for free will come down to luck.
You’re playing the wrong game if you feel this way. This game will only keep getting more limited to put pressure onto people who do spend, to keep spending more around an artificially created difficulty they set. I quit pretty much after half anniversary when I saw the model going forward. It’s FF7 though-the SE cash cow-that people will spend a house on Sephiroth, Cloud, Tifa and Aerith in outfits, so. You’re gonna get milked hard for everything you got until you can break the fomo and play other games.
As a new player (started Oct 2024), I appreciate this banner. Burn out is real if you try to get everything which is not the point of a gatcha game. The point is to be able to use the most out of the tools you get. That is part of playing the game. If you get everything, you quickly see that the game is boring and expensive. That is how it is with most gatcha games (I'm a 4-year player of War of the Visions and "dabbled" with other gatcha games). So if you do not have enough crystals for the current banner or you're saving up for an upcoming one, just accept the cards you're dealt with and enjoy the ride.
It's definitely a hard game when it comes to the gacha, there's not a lot of freedom to draw or roll on odd stuff, a lot of it is rolling on meta picks and OP characters. I'd say though, I've not spent money on this game (other than the season passes because they are cheap and everyone should get them) and I also play very carefully and try to conserve crystals. Even after the Tifa and Aerith draws I currently have 105,000 crystals left and I haven't bought red crystals or packs like that since the monster hunter banner. I think the game can be a bit rough, I always feel like I'm having to skip stuff I want in some cases. I missed out on Yuffie 1st anniversary banner, did no summer ones (glad now as this costume replaces the tifa summer one for me anyway) and I tend to stick to a limited number of characters. I still feel pretty well built on most characters and happy with my draws. I do feel regardless of that though, there is definitely too much pressure and lack of ability to draw on different stuff due to how many limited banners there are. I had to largely skip the FF6 crossover to maintain crystals as well. Hoping for an FF8 banner eventually so I always aim to save crystals. My recommendation is that no matter how hard it is, just go a month or so with pulling nothing or absolute minimum. Go cheap when you can (getting just a single copy of weapons), skip costumes if not needed etc. I got up to nearly 150k crystals that way but then this banner and xmas made me spend.
I expected a limited banner in January so I skipped everything last month except the Cloud wind weapon weapon. These weapons are both nice but imo we have other means of doing similar things. If you feel a weapon is mid then skip them. FF6 banners were all skippable as imo. FOMO sucks.
Clouds new costume availability warrants all around drug test for applibot devs.....wth if i don't get super lucky and draw a x30 medal lottery box im out of $120 for one costume?????
I can feel myself trending this direction. I’m a dolphin.. but all these LB banners that cater to whales/Krakens are really putting me off. It’s a damn shame too, because in this specific instance.. these costumes are (in my opinion) the best ones they’ve made for Tifa and Aerith so far. I just can’t justify continuing to spend like this, and I think my play is about to become a lotttt more casual.
They just need to do one thing: make previoua LB weapons wishlistable. Its unfair for them not letting us to wishlist later, considering whales will still spend a lot anyways.

It's definitely getting worse. The one that really annoyed me was the Angeal banner because there was no reason to make it limited

The worst part is that Cloud costium as my Fav along Zack i will not pay that match for just one costium.
It’s bad. It forces people to whale to get to OB10…. Unless we save enough to reliably get OB6 at least then what’s the point of pulling.
