The sample from Misty In Roots "Man Kind" (well the intro from the version on the Counter Eurovision lp) was also used that year by The KLF on their KLF v. the Moody Boys "What Time Is Love?" 12". The KLF's Cauty and Dr Paterson had together formed the Orb a year before. I think they borrowed each other's records to sample them... This is great though... crisp as a crispy crisp. Loverly!
This is amazing. I'm a 19 year old urban producer, and I've finally found the sort of sound I want to be creating. From 2:33 onwards I was sold. Amazing music.
How’s it turned out in 2024? At the ripe old age of 28? Hope you spread your wings and took on the rest of early 90s music? 54 yr old here still stuck there
one of my alltime top favorite mixes. Misty in Roots are sampled to fine effect here, and I have a hunch Jah Wobble is playing bass, but I could be mistaken. Thanks for posting,my vinyl copy is quite battered from overuse in mashing up a de dance!
Forgot to say... Thankyou very very much for sharing, i swear i aint heard that in over 10 years and i knew each beat and lyric down to a tee on first play. Excellent TheMadFerret
I bought this on vinyl when it came out then got it signed by rolf harris as it was the only thing i had with me, wierd eh! (rolf had quite a cult status back in early 90's) My mate had a copy of the karma sutra which now has a rolf a roo :)
Why do people need to talk about the state of the music industry in the comments on good music.. have confidence you have good taste. you don't need to attack the reasons for the shit here, spend the time appreciating the glorious sound :) peace n' love.
What's the version of this that has a line in it that goes something like, "I ain't never heard any music like this in my life before, and if I ever did, I don't know where I heard it!" ?????
HHmm great to hear this, though my concern is kids might hear this and become cool once more, the shyte they listen to today is poisoning their brains and numbing their senses...

Hey, if it makes some adults here less pessimistic about the world, then I am a 16 year old thoroughly enjoying the Orb! :D

In case you are still searching after 6 years -- it is the Solar Youth Mix (which also was the main single version iirc).

What do you mean? Wouldn't Simon Cowell want Kelly Clarkson to cover this? Or maybe Carrie Underwood?
