I've adapted some Leica and Voigtlander lenses to mine, which work very well (with the electronic shutter, of course). And don't forget the older XCD lenses, which are still exceptional. I had the 45P (I just sold it), but I still have the 80 1.9 and 35-75.
Yes, YES and YEEESSS! But what I really want to know is, if there is a genuine build issue affecting the mount. Some complaints online, states that whenever you mount a lens, it doesn't "sit" securely; that there is a "wobble." Is this true? What has been your experience regarding its build quality?
It’s something that would be super cool to have, but after weeks of internal debate I’ve decided to shoot for the GFX 100S II. It’s just more cost effective, has a mechanical shutter (so less issues with rolling shutter on adapted lenses), and has more native lens options. In your experience, how do you feel about the colors? Is it something you think cannot be replicated on maybe a newer GFX model shooting in 16 bits?
All good points. I know the GFXs are more functional cameras but it was actually the raw files that swung me. The colours on the x2d just work and I typically leave them alone. I guess with ‘blad there’s a ‘look’ which they’ve worked on and if you like it you just leave it there. In all other functional respects I’m sure the Fuji is superior but for the images themselves it was obvious to me which one I liked. If I need more function, I’ve got my r5. 👍🏻
@@PhilTragen Very true! Yeah I don’t think I’ll ever get into the type of professional photography that requires the sync speeds leaf shutters provide, so I can live without it. And yeah the R5 is quite amazing, I have a Sony A7 IV with a bunch of DG DN lenses as my speedy/street setup. I guess really the appeal of Hasselblad is, as you say, it’s completeness out of the camera. Perhaps with a GFX you can achieve something similar but with more work… maybe that’s a more fair comparison
@@PhilTragen saw it today... ❤️❤️❤️ love it. i mean i know this camera but i never bought it because ive been waiting for the new leica Medium format... but it will take a while...
as usual, it depends. If you want a responsive fast camera, it's not worth it. If you want image quality that's the best around - if it's important to the sort of work you do - then maybe it's worth it
Fuji basically has broken Hasselblad's neck. Hasselblad went broke and was taken over by the Chinese DJI. While they used Zeiss lenses on their film cameras, they now rely on Fujifilm lenses on their digital models.
I did see that one. And I know it's overall a much more capable camera with video, lens availability etc. But I compared the pictures from each side by side - the GFX colours just just aren't as nice right out of camera and also the GFX is a bit, well, ugly. IMO.
@@PhilTragen fair but i do think hassle has to put a little more effort in its AF, Speed, and availability. Ironically these cams share the same sensor all thats different is the color science. But…. I do agree Hassle colors are better but man is it slow to shoot on. I want a cam that just keeps up with my workflow. Fuji kind of hits that mark all be it still with its drawbacks. Moral of the story get both
@@triedge6200 the Blad isn't a speedy boy it's true. But I'd only say it's slow compared to everything else that's current, if that's not too stupid a thing to say. I had a Pentax 645z in 2017 and it's faster than that - that system had a 90mm f2.8 and you needed to pack a lunch for that one. Definitely fast enough for controlled work but if it's a bit more chaotic it's the r5.
It's not really designed to be fast. Is any MF camera as fast as a full frame? Also the Canon r5 retailed at £4.3k and the x2d is at £7k. It's more but it's not that much more - and it's a hell of a lot less than Hasselblads used to be.
@@PhilTragen nah, I wouldn't say so but They're getting there. I do own the gfx 100 and I can definitely say having a mechanical shutter is a must have if you're using non native glass. Please don't get me wrong, this isn't hate. the x2d is an awesome camera! I'd buy one if it had a mechanical shutter or a stacked sensor
Sounds like all bad things because I'm not willing to pay for any of them...
i get you. :')

Honestly mine is a pretty snug fit. No complaints 👍🏻

Having a leaf shutter is a massive massive bonus by the way. I’d not buy a medium format camera if I had to carry on suffering from 1/200th sync 😅

I have x1d and it spoils you. The lenses are amazing. The camera simple and uncluttered. I’m glad I went with Hassy over Fuji.
Just wish Phocus was better software....
@@PhilTragen can’t get the app to work with my xd1. Am I doing something wrong
Which lenses did you buy?
Three - the 28, 55 and 90. And now I must stop.
@@PhilTragenI want the 45mm f/4p

congrats! check the new workflow video on my channel, it might save you some time.

What lines are you looking for I may have them instock
The XCD ones! 😅
great vidz, why don't you have so much views?
Thanks pal. I guess I’m under appreciated in my lifetime!
?price??
That’s at the end of the video 👍🏻
Well done Phil.
Want one
I found that if you remove the lens it’s a great place to store custard powder
You must be rich beyond my wildest dreams
Geezus christ, that price tag. I could do a full front offroad swap my my 4runner for cheaper than the camera body
I'll be honest - not totally sure what you said there :')
It’s the lenses over body that is expensive
But it’s that worth? This is the question. Even for ultra professional and ultra rich photographers is this worth?

No live histogram, would be also a bad thing.

Hope they stay on their feet this time…
These are Hassy lenses. H system are Fuji. Fuji makes fine lenses but these are Hassy
It's why I went fujifilm GFX 😂
I feel like that system has everything except magic... am i wrong about that?
Sooo….. Fuji?

I hate how expensive this shit is tbh lmaooo I'm poor photographer

Had me in a panic there. Definitely shooting 16bit 😅
1.expensive
2.expensive

You're not wrong...
4. No shutter (really slow readout speed with electronic shutter)
5. No Sensor cleaning

I mean the camera is not interesting. Your video is informative.
Oh I see. Yes - very much depends on what you need from life. 😅
