I like how the announcers talked about how Tysons body shots sounded different from his opponents due to his power. Then they went on to say.."lets stop talking for a minute so our viewers can hear the difference." That's good sports announcing and a true attestment for the respect they had for Tyson.
Not at his peak. Tyson is a bit sloppy in this fight. Footwork wasn't great. Not putting together his combos that well. Not jabbing that well. Nice bodywork. His peak would come a year or 2 later: dismantling Biggs, destroying Holmes, Tubbs, Spinks.

Ribalta was using a tactic that many of the tall heavy fighters used . During the clutches he was making Tyson to have to support his weight which tires the smaller man out quicker. It’s obvious Tyson was getting tired, thus flurrying in spurts. The last spurt was to much for the very durable Ribalta. Thanks for the replay. Cheers!

i think tysons power has been overstated a lot. I don't think he hit any harder than other heavyweights. But what he had was very fast hands and was a very accurate puncher. Any boxer will tell you it's the punches you don't see and brace for that knock you down. Tyson showed very good combination punching here and good stamina early in his career. He was so small at 5' 10'' that he always struggled with big heavyweights so considering just how small he was he did very well in the division. But when you look at atomic power punchers like Foreman/ Lewis/ Norton that could take you out liek a sniper with a single shot you can't really call Tyson one of the biggest punchers. He had two very hard fights with Ruddock - Lewis blasted Ruddock in 2 rounds. Hit Golota with everything but the corner stool but didn't stop him. Lewis ko'd Golota in a round. Struggled with big old bonecrusher Smith, got beaten up by Buster Douglas - all big rugged guys. Prime Tyson to me was that 85 - 87 period when he was young, fast, threw quick combination punches to befuddle bigger guys. good fight, kudos to Ribalta, he was not goign to quit.
