When they played this song in the end of her documentary, I cried my eyes out. This song now has so much more meaning to me, and I understand why she sang this song now. I’ve always known this song was special both lyrically and musically, but hearing her singing it at the end of the movie made it so much more. This is one of my favorite songs now.
Marco Murillo I got that too when I sat on that theater at the end of that documentary. I wanted to cry too. If I had been home I would have boo hoo’d.
This is ULTRA rare! It's my first time to hear it -- and I've heard it all from her. "Home" is the first song Whitney sang on a televised show in 1983. She knew this song like the back of her hand. This 1999 live rendition is amazing because it's in original key and she was already past her prime at that point.
Do you know about the 1994 live rendition in South Africa? I think that was the best and this sounds like an imitation or a modern version of it. I love that she liked to change songs live, that's a true singer and not a talentless boring one who sings and sounds the same years after years...
Though her voice changed through the years, she tried to change versions of her songs to fit it. At first I thought she rushed through it but then realized that we're hearing from an unprofessional recording on the audience's side. You have to listen to it properly from stage, she stressed on certain words that sounded like the 1994 live rendition in South Africa. There she took more time with it but here in 1999 in London, it was a different place and later in the years so she sounded more mature, experienced the words, and concluding the story...
I was there. It was the last concert of the European tour. she sang this song because they were flying back home to the States the day after. It was a great concert as always, but this particular song wasn’t as great as other times. The band sounded improvised and the tempo was so fast.

@@George-lq4li Of course. I have long heard it. It's been out since 1994.
love that with the regained ease in her belting we've got a few original key performances like this, all at once, and GLOA snippet
Idc what anyone says Whitney was the greatest singer to ever exist NOBODY compares at the end of the day. ❤
I swear her tone during this era was so magical😍😍 I am literally in tears
WHITNEY HOUSTON MASTERED THE ART OF SINGING !
Her voice is overwhelmingly powerful and soothing.
Sends chills down my spine and makes me feel invincible at the same time.
Is it just me or does she sings this better than the 80s version or 94 version her 99 voice was on fire
Derrick Belmar - it was on fire. Like the sun.
it is good but it semi rushed..Her legato is not as good in the verses
She sounds amazing, just wish she didnt rush through it

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!its back after being gone for what seems forever. Thanks a million for bringing history back to us.#LongLiveTheVoice
Deshawn Stallings when was it up previously?
The last time I saw the VOICE was 94 Any one who doughts her voice should watch her perform live
Sounds like it was impromptu. Like the music the band played kind of sounds like Home so she just sang it and the followed her. Amazing!
Yes it was impromptu!
Her tone was so interesting during this era.
How so?
well in this performance it was very juvenile 😭 lighter than ever
All her renditions are amazing but I’d listen to this over the 94 version any day. It’s like 99 was a second “prime”
I love the my love is your love era
Nah, the 94 version has so much theatricality that I live for it
...and i'd listen the 2018 version over any other version...any day
@@TTkingsmanWhat 2018 version..?

WE ALL MISS YOU VERY BADLY OUR DEAR WHITNEY HOUSTON!
This is an awesome upload
This is what happens when you lay off substances your voice comes thru🔥 man if she just stopped fuckin with that sauce
Thanks so much :)
I was there
How did I miss this leak out out?
haha I have no idea...the whole concert is on the way
Where is the full concert? I heard that she sang IYBT there.
@@Whatisthis438 you heard she sang iybt in london in 1999?
@@mariahwhitneycelinejanetmadona Idk if she did it or not, I heard it was a medley of iybt, I have nothing, and a few other songs.
@@Whatisthis438 I believe it was done by the background singers as an interlude… some of the shows on yt have that part

Y’all sure it wasn’t 1989 lol
If it was 1989 she would've sang it in a higher key like she did in 1983. 1994 she lowered it and kept that same key when singing it in 1999
@@Whatisthis438 I know. I was kidding 🫥
@@Whatisthis438 actually she sang it a half step higher than 1994. Her voice here sounds a lot fresher here than the ‘94 performance of this song.
