１９６０～８０年代に活躍したハリウッドスターの中でも、その野性味溢れる「国籍不詳」的風貌で、一度見たら絶対に記憶に残る特別な存在感を放っていた役者＝Charles.Bronsonをイメージキャラクターに起用したCM。肉体から迸る生命力溢れる一匹狼的なタフガイキャラクターは、荒野を佇む姿が良く似合っていた。作り物の役者だと見ているコチラが照れ臭くなる様な(大林宣彦氏によるこの様な)演出も、(風貌から察して)遠い昔からモンゴル高原～中央アジアのステップ地帯を駆け巡っていた遊牧民の血を曳いているであろう彼が演じると、実に自然で様になっていた。
Jerry Wallaceが歌うこの爽快な歌と、男臭さ全開のBronsonのイメージが最高にマッチした男性化粧品「MANDOM」CMのインパクトは凄まじく、後に広告主「丹頂化粧品」の社名を商品名の「マンダム」に変更する程の社会的周知の広がりを見せた、まさしく一世を風靡した大ヒットCMとなった。
Bronsonの決め台詞：「Mmmm.., Mandom !」は、当時の小学校に入りたてのガキ共(つまり、オレ達ｗ)まで挙って真似をしたものだ。

昔々丹頂はポマードと言う整髪剤を売ってました。子供心にポマードをつけてるおじさんは大嫌いで気持ち悪かった。父が｢丹頂はもう潰れる！｣ってよく言ってました。
それがこの音楽とチャールズブロンソンで甦ったのです。
