- In this driveaway video, I'll be taking a Dump Truck from Ohio to Montana. It'll be 1600 miles and I'll be using my pintle adapter on my Blue Ox towbar. This video is just showing you how I use my pintle adapter to hook up to trucks with pintle hooks. I will leave a link to where you can get a pintle adapter like the one in the video in case you need to purchase one. Tier1 fabrication has them for sale and they will also ship! (I have no affiliation with Tier1 other than this is where I buy a lot of my hitch equipment)

Actually, since it already had a receiver, it would have been easier and quicker to use it, but I just felt the Pintle adapter is a lil more robust!
About to start my journey with drive away. What places can I go to have my tow equipment installed and can you give me a list of tow equipment and or tools I should carry???
Most RV dealers can install a baseplate on your car. I also believe Dan's in Elkhart will do it. As for the equipment you'll need, if you look back through my videos, I think I have two on that subject.

Do you drive during the winter? I ask because your car is a fwd. I'm getting into the business with a fwd crv so I'm wondering how you do it.
Yes, but I try and stay out of the snow and ice by running South and Southwest mostly. I watch the weather closely and if I think I can run North between systems and get back out before they hit, I will chance it. Been caught a few times.
