I can't tell you how many times I've watched this. This is easily the best live performance on TH-cam of John Maus. Not only that, this is one of my favorite live performances period. The raw emotions it captures is fantastic. Also, this video really highlights how much the drummer is held back my the music style. Which isn't absolutely terrible. John has made the comment himself.
So true!! I've watched it loads myself. The drumming in castles in the grave makes that song absolutely explode though! When the tune drops and he starts screaming in castles in the grave is my favourite John youtube moment. Happy 39th Birthday to John today as well :)

I just keep watching this on repeat. This performance brings about so much emotion and awe. The recorded tracks don’t have the same sense of urgency and rawness.
