I'd love to just hang with this man for an evening, he has such a warm and thoughtful presence. Words cannot express how much Calibres music means to me and someday I'd love to shake his hand and tell him.
When you see a guy like Calibre, you know his selection is going to be totally off the charts. As a DnB producer, he's completely fulfilled, unparalleled. The selection is amazing, and the entire B-side series is invaluable. Shoutout to everyone who collects vinyl records; for me, it's the only medium with something truly special about it. Big up, Calibre !
I first stumbled across Calibre back in 1999 believe when listening to Fabio on radio 1, calibre was a breath of fresh air during the heavier and darker times within dnb. Musique concrete for me is a masterpiece and I've listened to Dominic's music ever since. A true treasure in our beloved scene.
That UR track is pure gold. I recall the first time hearing it circa 2004 and can’t remember where I got my hands on it but it’s one that will cease to leave my collection.
Hugely talent man is Cabre, listen to one of his tunes at least once a day. Could listen to him being interviewed every day, knowledgeable, humble and engaging.
Calibre is just amazing. He has released more music outside of dnb than other artists release in their lifetime. His output is just unreal in terms of quality and quantity. On top of that he is also a really good music curator. Just listen how he seamlessly moves from ambient to downbeat to 140ish to DnB in just one hour in his mix for HÖR.
So inspiring, those early Jamaican 45s are such a backbone for DnB for me. Roots. Playing Calibre lately makes me notice his genius use of rhythm and texture. Thank you for sharing some of his inner world with us.
UR's Transition is such a unique classic! Calibre's knowledge is broad, but always focusing on quality music and uniqueness. Well done Electronic Beats TV
Been a fan of Calibre since seeing him on Groovetech with Marcus Intalex (RIP) and ST Files. His early work is absolutely essential listening, what a legend.
This is kind of mind-blowing. This channel is such a treat. This man is such a treat. Too bad I cannot find that first B-side here on TH-cam. I would love to, because I live in a country where there are no record-stores haha.
Listening to Transitions reminds me of tuning into Ben Stinga's Strickly Rythems show on RTR (Perth WA, he was a ground breaker in the early 90's house scene there). Top choin, and so nice to put a face and voice to Calibre finally. Thanks all for a great sample set/influences and interview
An icon of the scene for so long, Soul:ution Manchester I’ll never forget, been collecting his genius since “Mystic / Feelin” about 25 years ago. What a privilege to hear Dom’s personal selections. I only own that UR 12”, sorry man, while Transition is great, the A side “Inspiration” is the one. It sounds like that weird alien band from Star Wars jamming with Mad Mike thousands of years in the future! 😂
Track 2 shows a roll n roll vocal melody range. Brilliant choices and listening recommendations. Please keep educating us all with your musical knowledge and love.
@@ElectronicBeatsTV Nick Sigsworth, who performs under the moniker Klaus, is a London-based electronic music producer known for his subtle, minimalist approach to post-dubstep and ambient soundscapes. His music often blends experimental dubstep with atmospheric, immersive textures. Klaus gained recognition with releases such as the Tusk EP (2011) on R&S Records, which stood out for its sparse, cavernous atmosphere filled with skittering reverb and brooding synths. His work has been likened to artists like Mount Kimbie and James Blake, both of whom have been long-time supporters of his music.
Calibre is one of most influential artists in drum and bass music for me. I really like his selection but as producer, dj and his fan I expected he will pick at least one drum and bass track 😞
That's a man of Music. Not a man of trends.
Trends are part of music evolution
@@YOUENNNN Trends are the capitalistic side of music evolution (aka the death of expression within music)
Trendsetter if anything ❤
I could easily watch Calibre pick 5 tunes and talk about them every single day. What a treat
I know right? Really enjoy seeing a wider breadth of selections like this.
me too mate
I'd love to just hang with this man for an evening, he has such a warm and thoughtful presence. Words cannot express how much Calibres music means to me and someday I'd love to shake his hand and tell him.
I will say was lucky a few times to meet him, I told him for all who were a fan that his label, the design is simply incredible

Calibre’s knowledge & passion for music shines through in everything he produces, and I can’t get enough of listening to his tunes, man’s a genius ❤
Living legend!
and a super nice one too
Very intelligent and well spoken; certainly appreciate his sincere passion.
This gentleman is inspirational…thank you, man.

Nice to hear Belfast getting some shout outs. Sound Advice Records is a brilliant shop and Marion and Chris are local heroes.
Mr. Majestic himself
Mr Maverick himself
Mr Natural, if you will
Purchased Klaus - Gus.wav straight away! My kind of sound! Respect!
An icon. A living legend. I could watch this man talk about music for hours. We need more Calibre!
That Jackie Mittoo 45 on early Jammy’s is a wicked dub.
Calibre should make this a weekly series. I wouldn't mind if he incorporates his favorite A sides too:)
I love Calibre he is one of the best producers ever and not talking about a specific genre

Absolute legend of the game.
So nice to have something different than electronic club music for once, hope there are more Bsides lined up
I can't say enough great things about the man like Calibre. My favourite DNB producer ever and everything he produces is buy on sight!!
Very rare interview from 1 of the kings 🔥
Transition is absolutely timeless. Dave Clarke used to hammer that ( and even used the acapella on one of his world service CD’s). Incredible track
This was absolutely brilliant. I loved the variation, stories and enthusiasm for the music. Really excellent episode!
imagine you are Klaus, and you stumble across this video.
Also, nice seeking the paintings in the background for his LP covers :)
UR's Transition is such a unique classic!

All time favourite tune, swooned when he picked it out!

God he’s just such a legend isn’t he, one of the real ones 🐐

His artistry is fantastic and a proper music man. As we can know

What a bloody legend.
What a lovely bloke ❤

What a lovely human being Calibre is!
pure knowledge but still down to earth
Great selection, keen to get copies of 2,3,4. Big up Calibre
U.R Transition, Classic.
Amazing video from a living legend of the scene. Hats off
Fantastic Life is easily my favorite Fall track. So cool he pulled that one.
Man its good to see and hear caliber.
WOWOW! Amazing eclectic selection! Thankyou Calibre :)
Calibre is all class.
Really nice and diverse selection! Added couple to my want list. :)
Klaus is the fucking man, glad to see him getting props for that record. seriously underrated
Lovely man, and lovely tunes 👍🏻
Amazing.
Thanks, Man!
Again a brilliant selection of timeless music
Always find myself rifling through my collection after a B-sides episode.
what a selection! pure wisdom. love calibre.
At last, someone not just selecting non descript techno records. Much more interesting 🙏
brilliant selection
When I read the name Calibre, I knew it would be a good one. 💫
for me the best bsdies ever!
Transition ❤ amazing man, thank you
Amazing. Thx for this.
Thank you for doing B-Sides with DnB artists as well 🤩
Did you see Krust and Tim Reaper?
Of course, I thanked also for those videos!
The Fall... The Fucking Fall... Bravo Calibre! ❤
That Klaus "Gus" track gives me the shivers everytime i listen to it since it came out 🤌~ wish i knew more about the guy too!

If you read the comments you get to know more about KLAUS.
Tr4nsition is probably a tOp 100 all time dance music track 😊
what a legend!
What a treat
The calibre 👏👏🏿👏👏🏿
Not a DnB fan at all but you can tell this guy knows and loves music, great stuff
Mr Majestic! Best track
Parts of Gus are in Manchester Nights, I recognised them instantly 😀
These were awesome and unexpected.
Can‘t believe i‘ve got that first record, also at Hard Wax, years ago.
A true music man! Great video
Legend
You sir calibre is the Dogs Dangalles love ya. 💯👍🤗🎉
Dominick is the man!!

I spent £50 on a factory sealed CD of second sun in 2008. Wish I’d bought the vinyl now.
That he mentioned UR ❤
Yes.
So nice to see Klaus on here, I have all his records

Great, thanks!
someone who picks the fall knows his stuff
The guy on the reggae record sounded a bit like Horis Andy, who does vocals for Massive Attack
Nice eclectic mix…..
a love of the fall says something (great) about a person to me
Yep.
...make your transition... people!

Can't help but be a little bit disappointed that "Mr Majestic" didnt make the cut 😅
with calibre 5 tracks is just too short. he should've done 10!
Calibre is one of most influential artists in drum and bass music for me. I really like his selection but as producer, dj and his fan I expected he will pick at least one drum and bass track 😞

@@viktorvigh4513 Why did Calibre did not played drum and bass track in his 5 tracks or why am I expected drum and bass from him? ..or both? 😅

ye out to klaus
we all know, that under the tape it is the Pioneer logo
How did you like the selection?
