    Great, best I have seen in a long time. This tutorial explains everything you need to know to get your BigTreeTech SKR 1.4 up and running. All tutorials should be this good. Oh, I was using all DRV8825 so I updated my configuration.h to :
    #define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT {160, 160, 160, 160, 160 }
    #define DEFAULT_MAX_FEEDRATE { 200, 200, 20, 25, 25 }
    I only have one extruder and my printer is a Anet A8, TronXY X3S clone with a Prusa I3 MK2 extruder.
    Thanks Richard

      @@EdwardBraiman : Great. got it installed and was able to compile: In this board there are five places for drivers. X,Y,Z,E0,E1 so if you have a driver in each you would increase the list to five. All with 160. but that gives an error. What else has to be changed. Thanks

    I guess you just showed us as an example to set us two drivers. When i want to configurate my board completely, the jumpers for the rest of the board may have to be placed at the same position like the first two drivers, right? Im asking this because im very unsure :D Thanx for your video anyway! Ciao from Germany! :)

    Thank you for the video's. Would you recommend the 8825's over the 2209?

    • @EdwardBraiman
      @EdwardBraiman  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on your skill level. For beginners I recommend DRV8825 and once they become novices work up to other stepper drivers. Each stepper has advantages and disadvantages based on users experience. Drv8825 is good starting place for cost and learning.

    Hi, thanks for your videos. One question I have some TMC2100 drivers from my previous board and I would like to use them in my new skr 1.4. They are compatible? And what would the jumpers be like?
    In my previous board (mks gen 1.4) I had to remove all the pins, is it the same in this one?
    greetings and thanks.

      They should, but check the manual. I've not tried them.

    Hi, on the SKR 1.4 manual says that when we use DRV8825 we should connect RST and SLP with jumper cap. but it seems you are not using that jumper, why?

    • @EdwardBraiman
      @EdwardBraiman  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It appeared to worked or the manual was updated after the tutorial. This happened to me with TFT display so it might be why. I'll check the manual I downloaded last year.

    Hi Edward, this video is awesome. I’ve bought four A4988 drivers with skr1.4 for my ender 3. But finding it hard on how to make it work as there is no tutorial. Can you please help 🙂

    Are you adding the translations on your videos by yourself? I'm asking because the french subtitles look like straight Google Translate copy/paste lol Ton of grammatical and orthographic mistakes, even worst sometimes, the sentences have simply no meaning lol
    Your videos are really informative though so keep it up the great job and maybe let the community translates them for you in the future :)

    • @EdwardBraiman
      @EdwardBraiman  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they're Google translated. My French is terrible and my sister and mother are not interested in proof reading them.

    DRV8825 vs A4988 which would you do as I am going to get a CNC and wondering which of those to grab. For 5 it is only 2-3 dollars more.

    • @EdwardBraiman
      @EdwardBraiman  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The drv8825 are one of my favorite steppers drivers. They can be tuned by ear.

    • @thebeststooge
      @thebeststooge 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tuned by ear? Hmmmm. I did notice they can handle slightly more current and I know the A4988 very well.

    • @EdwardBraiman

      Before I learned to tune by multimeter, I used the sound of the Nema17.

      Hola. ¿Qué ocurre cuando el sistema está encendido e intentas mover los steppers? escuchas un ruido? Si es así, ¿qué escuchas?

      En mi caso no escucho nada con estos microcontroladores. Debo soldar RST y SLP en cada uno?

    can SKR v1.4 combine XY with tmc2209 and Z Extruder with a4988?

    • @EdwardBraiman
      @EdwardBraiman  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're asking if you can use multiple stepper types on SKR 1.4, then the answer is yes.

    I doubt its impossible to hurt yourself with 24v dc I mess with 54v dc at work never been shocked by it also damaging the board may be a strech unless you have really sweaty hands

    • @EdwardBraiman
      @EdwardBraiman  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I want to stress good practices to viewers. In HS we had someone in class shocked themselves and to this day we only know him by the name the teacher gave him of, "sparky". So I rather other people not get that nickname.
