I wanted to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Thomas the Tank Engine with a special extended remake of the iconic pilot episode, “Thomas & Gordon.”
In this reimagined version, I’ve expanded the story, added new characters, and brought more depth to the simple but timeless tale, focusing on character-driven moments. This project is a heartfelt tribute to the series that has meant so much to me over the years.
A huge thank you to the amazing Thomas the Tank Engine community, whose creativity and passion have inspired me to create something of my own. Being a part of this community has been an incredible journey, and now I’m excited to share this labor of love with all of you!

"Th- th- The brakes are still on!" I absolutely loved this retelling! The ending and confrontation at Maron were my favorite parts!
The pacing, the jokes, the simplicity, the genuine human-like interactions. Outstanding, a rare breed, charming and simple. Keep up the good work.
Honestly, I like how you rewrote the story. Sure Thomas was kind of being a little bit rude to Gordon, but he didn’t deserve this. Im glad you added Gordon’s apology and befriending of Thomas here as it really didn’t make sense being placed at the end of the original version of down the mine. Also, I like how you wrote Gordon. You can tell he’s a big hotshot on a massive power trip since he’s the best in steam right now. However the realization of what he’s done ironically hits like a speeding train. Beautiful storytelling. The real show could have used talent like this. I’d give this 5 out of 5 gold stars.

She is literally the only engine other than Marklin who’s not supposed to be in this recreation of the first episode. This is outrageous!
She's a really old engine basis her being here isn't really out of place.
In all fairness, this is someone's own take on the franchise so why not, besides she is the only other engine outside the original 5 makes the railway feel less bare honestly

Really nice remake. Like another remake (th-cam.com/video/Uxy_yTRAglQ/w-d-xo.html), I like how Thomas was shown pulling the train by the back and being pulled backwards. That is a good tribute to Reginald Payne's illustration of Thomas pulling the coaches into the station with him facing away.
How Gordon pulled his express fast on the line (I like the feeling of going fast on the train down the line, while at the same time feeling concerned that Gordon might burst his safety valve again and Thomas really wanted water like it was a hot day), feeling very guilty at what he had done and him and Thomas apologising to one another, all of these are just so nice, so amazing...so right for them forgive each other and promised to never do it again.
That's a good lesson to learn.
I find the Original from the books and the Tv Series a bit better, I don't like how Thomas gets away with his nonsense and Gordon being the Villian here. Now I get why some fans prefer the other Characters over Thomas.

I suppose this was decent for a first video. This felt quite hit or miss during the first half. But the second half. The second half makes up for it, although Emily's presence here does absolutely nothing for this video. Other than that this was pretty good!

I think it’s because in the magazines, Emily was built by the Scottish Engine Company. Thus making her from Scott-land. (Only assumption i could come up with lol)
I'm finna pull a "☝️🤓" but it's because Emily's basis, the Stirling Singles, were not only used in express services in Scotland but also were in charge of hauling the Flying Scotsman (the express train that is, not to be confused with the sole surviving A3 named after it). Their designer, Patrick Stirling, was also born in Scotland and used to work in the Glasgow and South Western as its Chief Mechanical Engineer, a role he kept when he moved to the Great Northern Railway.
And also there's the magazines, as the above reply said, but I guess this answers the question too.

Emily’s basis is over 150 years old, so it makes sense for her to be around during this time.
Emily's basis is older than Edward's so it's not out of reason. Plus, it's a fun addition that doesn't change the original story.

Seeing Emily in "Thomas & Emily" was awesome. She sounded SUPER upset, seeing her boyfriend, Thomas being scared to death, by going backwards on the back of the express.
