"Wow Douglas really killed that brakevan! This really says a lot about how I see Sir Topham Hatt and the Engines of Sodor as evil for no reason!" Jokes aside amazing adaption! Love it & can't wait for more!
I love how this story is not only about D&D but also James. He’s ridiculed constantly by other engines and whilst sometimes he deserves it, I like how this story shows him at his braking point, where he’s trying his damned hardest to do a job, but keeps encountering problems. It really shows him in a sympathetic manner, way more than the real TV show ever did
I like how the confrontation between Donald and the Spiteful Brake Van goes into more detail. 4:35 And this wonderfully foreshadows what happens by the end of the story.
The way you build up to the brake van's destruction was incredible. Douglas' fury, the cracks starting to appear, and the dramatic soundtrack all came together beautifully.
I ADORE the climatic direction you took this story in. Donald confronting the brakevan, the hill scene, James having the worst time of it, I had the stupidest smile on my face watching all of it. Seriously, you have made art for the TV series' 40th anniversary. Fantastic work, as usual.
I'm glad you made it just in time for a special day about the 40th anniversary of Thomas the Tank Engine TV series since 1984. First off, I love how the crash sequences turn out, and second, I love how the story will turn out differently.
I love the detail of Donald calling Duck Monty, it's a nice detail and also a nice reference to the fact that they had beef over London's terminus during Gordon Goes Foreign.
Best adaptation EVER!!! Donald, Douglas and James were at their peak in this one!!! 😅😅😅 Definitely love Douglas's outburst/rant to the spiteful Brakevan! Although he felt guilty, you can't really blame him. You can tell his patience finally gave out. I especially love Donald and James's roles as well. I really love how Donald did everything he can to look out for his brother and I can't help but wonder if the bashing he did to the Spiteful Brakevan might have caused him to collapse when James and Douglas were reaching Gordon's Hill. And James may be a prick, but you can understand his frustration and why an incident like the tar wagons would be so painful for him to remember, but I'm glad he was willing to move past it and ask for Douglas's help.
Scots celebrate the new year with fire - you think they aren't violent? Ooh, Scot with mail train - nice. James at the scene to be assigned goods. XD Excellent segue with the tankers. Douglas genuinely not knowing it was James was funny.
This has to be the best adaptation of Brakevan I have seen. I love how it takes place in the fog for Donald confronting the brake van and in the rain where it gets crushed. Very well done. 👏 👏👏👏 All that's left to say is: Bring on the Deputation.

From stories with much more strife and realistic consists of mixed trains your videos are always a huge amount of fun to watch. Everyone on Twitter / X was right, as usual you truly cooked!
About a minute in, and I'm hooked. Donald and Douglas scold one of their crew members (I can't tell who's driver/fireman is who) for trying to frame Duck. That is so sweet that they're sticking up for him. "I'm your brother, I know which van you mean." (Not the exact quote). Aww! Donald! You're such a good brother. And him going up against the brake van! I love it! And the foreshadowing with Donald nearly smashing him... gah! That's perfect! Percy being the one to recover Donald from the signalbox crash? That's great foreshadowing to the next story! Aww, Douglas... he's a sweet boy. He feels bad that James crashed into the tar wagons when Gordon, Henry and Duck laugh at him. Whoa... Douglas' rants at the Spiteful Brakevan and his death... intense as heck! That ending... if engines could be hugged, Douglas needs one!
Holy cow. That was actually pretty insane. James really seemed to be the punching bag of this and I did feel sorry for him. I also see you had fun with the animation with this. Really experimental, I like it. Keep it up.
Yo the fact you’ve managed to uploaded this in time for the 40th series of the tv series is incredible wonderful work looking forward to seeing more stories from you 🔥🔥
This episode needs to be given a medal for the best remake of Break Van! I especially love the action put into the Douglas smashing the van scene. This was just AWESOME!
Love how this gives more nuance to the twins and the following stories. The twins ain't gonna do anything to get other engines in trouble. And Douglas verbalizing his disdain for the spiteful brake van.
What an anniversary, first Wardleton Station releases their 11th 40th anniversary S1 video. Then Tugs puts out a wonderful video detailing their personal love and history for Thomas. and now the next entry from Rhys of the Scottish Twins arc. A fantastic day to celebrate 40th years of Thomas and Friends. Wonderful work once again, you continue to take existing Thomas story and making your own mark with it, with your ever brilliant writing, dialogue and narrating that brings everything to life and truly stands out in the Thomas Trainz community. Thank you once again for all your work and I look forward to seeing more of your work to come.
One thing I like about this is how it gives extra context for several scenes from the original source material and the episode. The shot of James's wheels spinning? The trucks holding him back. Little things like that makes me enjoy these adaptations.

This has got to be my favourite adaption of this story! All the action scenes were so intense!! Also I was not expecting the scrap yard during the credits, that was dark…
Oh that moment was so intense, I was shaking so much from the weight of the situation, knowing his last description of the van is **spiteful** was chilling. Him looking at the wreckage was alright, I think showing the face of the dilapidated character is arguably not necessary, I think hiding it but showing Douglas staring at it may lend more emotion, but it was fine. Funny, the beginning, explaining the idea of the switching tenders, it almost seems like the plan was thought out after it occurred. Clever. I see Duck sneering at Donald in a later scene, as if he found out… I’m noticing some special props, some of these truck faces I have never seen before, like the one based on the ERTL one.
Well, why would Duck be cross with Donald? It was Hamish (one of the twins' crew members) that tried to frame him, not Donald himself. He was advocating for Duck.
WOW. this is my new favorite adaptation of this story. I love all the bits you've added to tie things together- like the leaking wagon causing Donald's signalbox accident- and little things like changing edwards faces after douglas crushes the brake van, it always bugged me that he was smiling the whole time. and the humor of the signalman turning around 180 degrees. i love being aware that the wooden humans look silly :] Just. Everything is a wonderfully fresh take on this story. It really does feel like a retelling as opposed to a re-hashing
Okay I love this video a lot and I had to comment again. I adore how you use Robert hartshornes HiT era music. Generally it's disliked in the TTTE community and people think it doesn't hold a candle to the older tracks, but I think it's because they're misused. When applied to a richer, intelligent story they have a chance to shine. You *elevate* these tracks.
The hill scene was fantastic. I love the dramatic spin you put on it. And the horrified look on Douglas' face combined with the credits adds a spooky element. A great installment, well done!
Holy moly this was amazing! I love how the characters bounce off of each other like they're real! And also the Scots confronting the van, that was PEAK! AN AMAZING ADAPTATION and I'm so honoured to have been able to watch it all in full! Good job!
I love how you did some of the crashes like the signalbox actually getting more broken and the cracks in the Spiteful Brakevan leading up him getting smashed.
Amazing! I'm glad to have subscribed to your channel and turned the notification bell to let me know of this video coming to TH-cam. It is amazing, comedic, emotional and ridiculous because of James's extremely terrible temper and disrespect toward the Scots, and how Douglas dealt with the Brake Van's death, Donald's crash in the signal box is my new favourite because of how you did it, the effects like the rain and much more! All of this combined into this one video is...just great. Was super excited about! I thank you for this. I'm looking forward to The Deputation! Because that has to be the grand finale and the Fat Controller would have learnt his good lesson by now
I like how the truck only asks why they are going to kill Dane in a way that implies that he's okay with murder and just wants to know the reason behind the murder.
This episode is amazing! I really liked how we finally have an idea of why the twins switched tenders. I also love how we see the foreshadowing of the Spiteful Brake Van's downfall when Donald goes to confront it & we hear the wood starting to crack when the brake van was shoved into the shed buffers. The last thing I love is the cause & effect like at 5:31, Donald pulls the TAR tankers out of the siding but then we find out they were leaking & causing him to crash! I just love how you made this video man, great job! I can't wait to see more from this!
THIS WAS GOLD BRO! Not gonna lie this was literally the best I’ve seen from this episode! The humour, Thr tones & everything are just placed at the right time! Keep on going bro! I know that humour is common for the Scot’s , I mean they are the type to have fun with! Which I LOVE! Thank you for making these awesome VIDS!
This was AMAZING! Honestly one of the funniest to me. I just noticed that you can see the twins old number is smudged but still kinda visible! Great touch! I hope that we can get the Deputation before the end of the year!
This was awesome even better than the last story! I love how you explain the Twins plan from the last story in detail, because it created a framing device to frame another engine. Also, this isn't something I've said before, but I absolutely love the sound effects and sound mixing in your videos definitely the cherry on top. Keep up the good work, man can't wait to see what happened next.
I’m glad you got the video uploaded on the 40th anniversary of Thomas! The animation on the signal box crash was great! That little recap sequence of the mysterious engine who crashed into some tar wagons (James, duh) was a classic! And I like how you foreshadowed the Break Van’s fate when he was being pressed against the buffers by Donald. I already knew what was going to later on. Great video, Rhys!
Another amazing adaptation. This was really well made and the crash with the signal box looked great. A change I thought was really interesting was Douglas not knowing it was James that had the incident with the tar wagons. I think in the original story it was heavily implied that Douglas knew and was just teasing James about it. It's an nice take on that scene. Excellent job!
I am loving these adaptations! The additions you make to these stories are all incredibly well done, I especially love that we actually see some guilt on Douglas’s end after demolishing the brake van. It adds so much to the twins’ plight to stay on Sodor. I also love how much more intense the confrontation between Donald and the van is, his entrance feels like something from a horror film, and the foreshadowing with the creaking is icing on the cake! I look forward to see how you tackle The Deputation!
i love you take of the railway series, you add all the missing pieces to the puzzle like how your trying to make this story make a little bit of sense.
Like with the previous episode, love your version of Spiteful Brakevan as well, especially with James present who overheard that he would be covering for Donald and his expression. I really cant wait for the final episode though we all know how it will end.
@ 2:38 when Douglas passed by Duck who was crossed, I wonder if Duck found out about the twin’s failed plan and that Hamish tried to pin the blame on him…
Really love this Episode dude! with the Twins especially Donald’s threat to the Brakevan! - Douglas being supportive with James as well. I’ve also personally always love it when the Twins🏴 informally call each other ‘Donnie’ and ‘Dougie’ 😄. Glad they did that more into the CGI Episodes as well.
I'm absolutely speechless with this, and there's so much I want to say. Everything from the writing, to the visuals, to the editing, was top notch. I know I've said this before, but I'll say it again, your adaptations are some of the best, in some cases the best, I've ever seen, you should feel very proud of yourself. Marvelous job, keep up the excellent work.
What an awesome video. It really told the story in a new way. I loved James's grumbling during the time he had to do Donald's goods work. The part with the brake van getting his just desserts on Gordon's Hill was quite a shocker. The twins really tried hard to be good. Well done for making this video. Happy 40th Anniversary to 'Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends' 😀.
Donald wasn't sorry about upsetting The Fat Controller's plans, I think we all know what he really was sorry about, don't we? Also, James' reaction is priceless!
Facts. I like Mike and Junior as much as the next person, make no mistake, but using the same old classic series music over and over again makes these fan stories sound like a broken record, pun not intended. I love both Robert Hartshorne and Ed Welch's music, and the lack of recreations, especially of Welch's music drives me nuts.
8:06 James in the background saying huh? LOL 😂 🤣🤣 16:46 Oh Damm, Dominic suffered dreadful from that rekt, and no one cared. 16:28 Dude, I can’t get over Douglas’s face because of what he committed to spiteful. XD
I think my favorite detail is that you could hear some wood splintering when Donald was, in his words, _scolding_ the brake van. It makes you wonder if the van could have otherwise survived had that not happened.…
I must say, that's a great video of Break Van. The Spiteful Brake Van seeing Donald's accident with the signal box and his death in the rain. Very spectacular. Keep up the good work and you can do Duck and the Diesel Engine next if you like.

@ 2:38 when Douglas passed by Duck who was crossed, I wonder if Duck found out about the twin’s failed plan and that Hamish tried to pin the blame on him…
That was the best brake van remake of all time
All the goods trains and bigger story time made it incredible
The Brakevan: (reveals himself as a dirty coward as Douglas is about to smash him into pieces) Whoa, steady! I-I'm breaking! Ouch!
Really excited for the deputation. Perhaps we'll see how Henry got stuck in the snow.
Donald could’ve used the sand in his sandbox to prevent himself from crashing into the signal box
I know the Brake Van had it coming, but I enjoyed this awesome retelling my dude. Can’t wait for the Deputation
This was wonderful, the spiteful breakva breaking was stellar
Donald wasn't sorry about upsetting The Fat Controller's plans, I think we all know what he really was sorry about, don't we?
Also, James' reaction is priceless!
I like the use of HiT era music instead of the expected classic era stuff, makes it interesting
Another great adaptation! I loved the foreshadowing of the Breakvan cracking at the beginning.
Epilogue: Because of this incident, the brake van could not be rebuilt again, and his remains were thrown away for scrap.
8:06 James in the background saying huh? LOL 😂 🤣🤣
16:46 Oh Damm, Dominic suffered dreadful from that rekt, and no one cared.
16:28 Dude, I can’t get over Douglas’s face because of what he committed to spiteful. XD
I like the foreshadowing.
I LOVE the part where Donald was quite literally about to jump the brakevan! It was kinda intense! 🔥
4:33 that was a hard punch to the brake van that even he feel the pain
16:28Douglas's mind:what have i done...
@@James-l7u2f"I... l just smashed up Dominic!" D:
Fantastic job on the remake!
For some reason I always thought of Scruffy and the spiteful brake van having the same kind of relationship as Vader and Palpatine
I love how the guard just went flying out of the spiteful brakevan
I don't expect Edward to not give a crap about the van's death it's a living thing
Happy 40th Anniversary to the series! serves that brake van right for all trouble he caused to Douglas
Och, aye! Splendid work, lad!
I always like how the spiteful break van die especially on Halloween. 15:27-16:17 kinda look like a part from drama movie
This was brilliant! The detail of the van creaking when Donald was confronting was great! Some great lines 😂
Can’t wait to see more!
As always you knocked it out of the park with this! Poor Douglas I feel like he'll have PTSD after this or struggle with the guilt
Okay the amount of love Donald has for his brother it’s so nice to see
Okay what kind of force did he have to crush that breakvan I was amazed
I think Donald had the van in a chokehold which made it easier for Douglas to crush him
@@evanclarke5561 That makes a lot of sense
I think my favorite detail is that you could hear some wood splintering when Donald was, in his words, _scolding_ the brake van. It makes you wonder if the van could have otherwise survived had that not happened.…
I must say, that's a great video of Break Van. The Spiteful Brake Van seeing Donald's accident with the signal box and his death in the rain. Very spectacular. Keep up the good work and you can do Duck and the Diesel Engine next if you like.
I love this, EVERYTHING. The cinematography, The atmosphere
But I love the gags and jokes most of all
"Ye'rE A MuCkLe nUiSaNcE! iT'S Ta lEaVa yA beHiNd, Have you tried speaking English, Mister?"
"Well Congratulations, You and your stupid brother can identify rolling stock, Do you want medals? I can arrange a ceremony for you two if you want one."
"Now James will have to do you're Goods Work "HUH?" while you get your tender mended"
"James?" "SHUT UP! I DON'T CARE ANYMORE!"
"Oi, Look sharp! We're going to Killdane today!" "Who's Dane, And why do we have to kill them?"
"ENGLISH MOTHAF****R DO YA SPEAK IT!?!?" >:(

Thomas1Edward2Henry3: YTP The Stoned Brakevan
Teacher: Alright class we're going to Killdane for our field trip today.
Student: Who's Dane and why do we have to kill him?
Me: (Blue Snowplow flashbacks intestifies)
James: HUH!!!!??? 8:07
"Who's Dane?"
Hawin: Trust me, you don't want to know.
