    Save everything; the halters, leadshanks, saddlecloth, bridle, horseshoes, etc…. This is a once in a lifetime event for most owners, trainers and stable staff. Save as much as possible so 50 years from now the grandkids can take it all out and relive the incredible moment.

    Doesn't Mage seem small compared to other derby winners?

      Yes

    • @dianemanson7756
      @dianemanson7756 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Definitely a smaller horse. Love the fact he has a full blaze down his face. However it sure would be nice to see a gray or black horse win the Derby once. Always the same 3 colors (chestnut, sorrel or bay) that seem to win.

      Hope they check his right foreleg. Maybe just the angle I saw it at.

    • @sophiaschommer7337
      @sophiaschommer7337 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Diane Manson well statistically I think its like like 70 or 80% of thoroughbreds are bay, followed by chestnut. Grays are not common and blacks are rarer than grays. So it's not very likely that you get a horse to win the Kentucky Derby that's not chestnut or bay.

      Rich Strike had more energy afterward last year. This horse looks sapped. His fourth start….what a circus but he ran the race of his life.

    Congrats to the connections, especially to JJ Castellano.I was glad to finally see him get a Kentucky Derby victory.I have no hard feelings toward him he has gotten me the money 💰 many a time when wagering on his mounts.This is coming from one of the members of the so called jockey haters of America club this being myself and my fellow Race Tract cronies.

    • @kevinpantera4429

      Did not care for his statements regarding winning this race. Guy rode for 16 times for US interests, Did not win, yet for foreign interests a different result. All we heard about was his "connections" and love for "HIS Country Venezuela" is all well and good and pretty much all we heard about during the news conference. Yet no one mentioned or gave a tip of the cap to the people of the Commonwealth of KY, Churchill Downs, or to the people who put on the show, or the racing office that put on a breeders cup like weekend of racing or for the good ole USA for that matter. Last time I looked you r riding here, in these United States, NOT in Venezuela. If you love Venezuela so much and it's " your country" like you said it was, then why the F aren't you riding there?? Been riding here 40 years, seen you win 7 in one day at Saratoga too, won millions of dollars in purses here, yet everytime I hear an interview with you I hear broken English, which to me means a complete disregard for any assimilation to the USA. Then on the games biggest stage, your true colors come out for Venezuela, but nothing for the USA, the country that has provided your family so much. What is wrong with this picture, and frankly not how I learned it! Don't know which optics were worse Mike RePole doing interviews on Cheaters, horse doping, and regulation rules in different states and how there are cheaters in the game that need to be rooted out (when his horse had a stone/hoof bruise) or non respect from the winners. Scary fact is, like they said "we are here" and unless I missed something they don't appear to care about anything else except Venezuela.
