  • Learn about VA disability ratings for Allergic Rhinitis and Chronic Sinusitis during today’s edition of CCK LIVE! Allergic Rhinitis and Sinusitis can be common among the general population, but many Veterans develop these conditions due to exposure to environmental hazards, such as open-air military burn pits. Veterans who can prove a connection between their Allergic Rhinitis or Sinusitis and military service may qualify for VA disability benefits.

    Just recieved 0% alergic rhinitis and service connection pact act. Prior to CNP exam, private ENT doctor xrayed and scope exam diagnosed chronic sinusitis with pollyps. VA had this info. CNP exam only did xray. Believe I meet 30% criteria.

    Just got 0% Service Connected for Rhinitis under the PACT act. For what I have to put up with daily since living and working under and through the Iraqi oil fires, I'm pretty sure 0% sucks wind.
    VA/Gov is pushing really hard for the PACT act, makes me wonder why. I'm guessing most of us will get ZERO and VA will call it a 'win' for Vet's. Thankfully some guys will get the help they need and deserve now.

    Thanks for the informative video on Rhinitis and Sinusitis. I am a Vietnam veteran that was wounded in the face/nose. I fought the VA for several years to increase my compensation for those conditions discussed in your video. My first award from the VA was denial. From there I progressed to zero and then ten, twenty. They kept throwing me some bones until I went away. Finally or at least something I was content with after fighting them for five years, I was awarded 30% plus 10% for scars. I guess I gave up at that point because i didn't know any better and I didn't know about title 38 of the CFR. Later I found out that I should have been awarded more because of the constant headaches. My medical records while I finished my service were filled with records of my headaches, issues with my nose that you mentioned in the video. I have a hole in my septum from the shrapnel that I was hit with. I am sure you realize the issues that I have dealt with over the years. Now I am tempted to file a CUE claim because the VA ignored all of my medical records when they finally gave me the award for 30%. Keep up the good work helping veterans by educating them and informing them about title 38 of the CFR. I need advice on CUE. Thanks

    I just received a VA-Disability approved all service connected for allergic Rhinitis with nose bleeds ( epistaxis ) , BUT!! they only gave me a rating of only 0, they admit it was due to my service in the air force, as a Jet Mechanic. I should of been rated for at least 50%, why. ?? I had nose surgery while in the air force for nose bleeds and difficulty breathing problems, and yet they last week sent me a letter saying they will NOT rate my continued nose bleeds and infections I still as of now must live with. No real justice for me at this time. but I will fight this to get a much higher rating in the future.

      VA is a different breed. I just received 30% for allergic rhinitis. I also have nose bleeds, ear pain, polyp, swollen glands and more than 50% of nasal obstructions. How long ago did you serve in the Air Force? I did read somewhere from the VA that your claim has to be less than 10 years from discharge date. I hope you are fighting hard to get what you deserver!! Best of Luck!

      @@rdheim99 My allergic rhinitis with Epistaxis ( nose Bleeds ), go way back to 1967, over 54 years ago, I even had to have a nose operation while in the air force, in 1967, BUT!! sorry to say it only made my nose infections & nose bleeds worse going forward, also I have no polyps, so I asked my lawyers to file a new claim since there is NO-NO actual diagnostic code and or way to actually and fairly rate my much more severity injuries, I continue to experience since the VA has NO schedule to go by. so I will be asking my lawyers to file a Extra Scheduler rating, and or Analogy , and try and compare my surgery and as of now I had to have 5-nose catheterizations, as well just in the past 5-years, just to even try and stop or should I say only control my nose bleeds, I still experience at least once a month 12 times or more a year. I will inform this message board when and IF ??? the VA considers my up and coming new appeal. wish we luck.

      @@rdheim99 3-years ago I had a C&P examination for Allergic Rhinitis with nose bleeds, but!! they said I had no polyps .( false!! ) , These C&P people never bothered to do a nose endoscopy . so all they gave me was a "0" non-compensatory rating for it. after 3-years time and just 2-weeks ago, on Dec 29th, 2022, I asked my very own VA ENT Doctor here in N.J to please do me a big favor and give me a nose Endoscopy just to double check and clear my mind once and for all. Guess what people ??, after 3-years of trusting those C&P examiners and NOT doubting or questioning their past "0" decision for saying they did not see any nose polyps , My very Own ENT VA doctor told me point blank!!, I do in fact have many nose polyps , and he put all this down in writing on my VA ENT examination report. so I just applied for a additional 30% increase which will now get me to 70%. Bottom line fellow vets, do not trust these C&P Examiners to do there job in a trustworthy manner, and never give up your fight for justice. true story!!

Any time I get stressed out or if the water is too hot in the shower it will easily trigger a nose bleed. I will let you all know one way or the other as soon as the VA decides, are my nose injuries much worse then I must show polyps to get 30%. ???

      I know what you are going through, as of now, I had to have 5-nose catheterizations just in the past 5-years to even try and control my nose bleeds , but they can never stop them completely , I still get at least 12-a year, I was approved at only a "0" rating for allergic rhinitis with epistaxis, but there is NO actual VA disability code for my injuries, so I asked my lawyers to file a new appeal soon asking for a Extra scheduler rating or analogy. since I do not have polyps they will not rate me fairly, for my much more severe injuries I still experience to this day. I will inform this board when and IF?, the VA reconsiders my claim and increase it to at least 30% to 50% in the near future. ( I Hope ) ?

      I’m on the same boat. I was just denied a rate increase because they need to be nasal polyps, not sinus polyps to get the 30% rating

    Can sinusitis be claimed as secondary to rhinitis?

    • @CCK_Law
      @CCK_Law  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! Sinusitis can be claimed secondary to allergic rhinitis. Although allergic rhinitis and sinusitis share many symptoms, they are two separate conditions. However, allergic rhinitis can cause sinusitis because it can lead the nasal passages to become inflamed or blocked.
      Check out our blog on secondary conditions to allergic rhinitis here: cck-law.com/blog/va-disability-for-secondary-conditions-to-allergic-rhinitis/

    I just received 30% for allergic rhinitis from my time in Iraq and Afghanistan. My question is, would allergic rhinitis with polyp cause obstructive sleep apea?

      Ryan I just found out I also have a polyp in my maxillary sinus. By chance was yours also in the same place and was there any other medical evidence you recommend to send in?

      @@mariomario.. Mine is located in my right nostril unsure the exact location, the doc just said yep you have a polyp. Then she did the nasal x-ray and my sinus are very swollen. I also always feel like I have something in my throat which is just my sinuses constantly running non stop. As far as anything else to send in, they didnt recommend anything other then allergic rhinitis, then I did my research and found that it goes hand and hand with sleep apnea. I am still waiting on my results from that test so we shall see.

    Can you have both chronic rhinitis and chronic sinusitis???

    • @CCK_Law
      @CCK_Law  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for tuning in! Allergic rhinitis can cause sinusitis because it can lead the nasal passages to become inflamed or blocked. When this happens bacteria can fester, often leading to infection and sinusitis.

      ask to have a endoscopy of your nose to see if ?? you might also have nose polyps, I just won my case last week after 3-years rated at "0' now increased 30% due to the fact, my VA doctor found I also have nose polyps as well.
