When trying to avoid too much water with watercolor pencils I put a damp folded paper towel into the bottom of a small bowl. Thats enough moisture to activate the pigment, the papertowel can be scrubbed into if color needs to be removed from the brush and there is the lip of the bowl available to help remove more water from the brush if necessary or to shape the brush against.

I want to know a few things: Can I pay for it tomorrow, and then wait for over a week to start it? Will you have a limit of students that will be allowed to take these classes? Can watercolour mediums be used for coloured pencils? To create different effects whilst adding the water? I have some from QOR and W&N but never thought to use them for pencils until I saw your sky.
Sandy, I forgot a question from my reply of about 2 minutes ago. Would you consider creating a lesson for using the Kuretake Zig Clean Color Brush pens? They now come in 150 colors (!) and their brush tip feels very different to any other maker, even classic watercolor brushes. Have you used these brush pens before? Thanks!
monarch butterflies are common as mud in Australia - or at least they used to be, not so much now insect populations are declining. I never really thought of them as beautiful until I saw your drawing.

You can use pencil on top of watercolor, but not the other way around. Pencil is generally water resistant.
